BON CHEW & COWCOW

and welcome to a new epawsode of our funny cooking contest… and together with da CANADIAN CATS, we present you today:

Colorful Cuisine

…and we present:

DA WEIMARANER PUMPKIN SOUP WITH A TWIST

…and we added: coconut milk, balsamico vinegar & brown sugar

…ok hat looks like the content of the bags airlines use when they cross areas with turbulences….

…but with some decorations it looks much better at the end… we used the balsamico vinegar and a little bit brown sugar to get a kind of balsamico cream with reducing it at low heat….

…and we have to tell you that the syrup like stuff we got at the end was pawfect… buttttttt… it is better to buy balsamico cream  in a store, it needs a lifetime till it has the right consistence … and to start in fall with a pumpkin soup you can eat in spring is probably a little odd…..

…. and instead of sour cream we used coconut milk, the taste was better and at the end it will not stick on your hips…

…we also suggest to buy the pumpkin seeds in a store… all the tricks google shares for peeling  the seeds need a lot of effort with washing, cooking, drying the seeds and the archaic way the mama picked was a fail too…

…she used a knife and brute force and after 6 minutes she had 1!!! (in words ONE!!!) seed ready what da Nelly ate because you can anyway not stand on one leg…

…butt even without da roasted seeds da soup was not bad, although we suspected an electric orange instead of a pale brownbeigeyellowwhatever…

… butt to complete da mission for this month we share two gray weimaraners on a green lawn ;O)

BON APPÉTIT!

  4. Oooooo delicious, I love pumpkin! Coconut milk was a great choice 🙂

  5. Gosh this does sound good BUTTTTTTT I seem to recall one terrible day when PUMPKIN was not as friendly as it was in this recipe. It was a pumpkin cheesecake that was the guilty party as I remember……so I am hoping this pumpkin delight does not cause any problems with tummies like that cheesecake did!!!!!

    Hugs, Teddy

the last recipe is my favorite, two gray weimaraners on a green lawn sounds and looks pawfect to me.. of course i might have to use 1 brindle Beau Ball brain on green grass, oops make that used to be green but is now MUD… i probalbly would not care for the soup but if someone made it I would try it

  12. I think it looks delicious and sounds delicious! I really like soups for cold weather and guess what??? We have some cold weather!!!!

  15. That sound like a tasty soup, even if the color wasn’t what you expected.

  19. Marv, Jo Jo, Kozmo & Angel Nellie Kowalik says:

Hi Guys! We had SQUASH soup last night! What a coincidence. Mom cut up all the veggies and roasted them in the oven. And she put sunflower seeds on it! We, of course, were more interested in the sour cream than the soup.
We will have to try and make that balsamic reduction!

  20. Now this is a *stick to the ribs* meal. It is very artistic. Is that bread on the side of the bowl? Bread and pumpkin soup sounds delicious. I agree buying pumpkin seeds would be much easier but then you wouldn’t have the experience, Da Phenny. You can do without the experience. I believe we could too.

Claire loves hokkaido pumpkin ! Your recipe sounds yummy ! Purrs

  22. Oooh that sounds super delish (with or without seeds). Yeah that whole seed process is a total pain, better to buy the package at the store or go without.

  23. Pumpkin-y soup is yummy, no matter what color it turns out. Neon-colored soup might be a little too exotic after all.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  24. The OP Pack says:

That is a very interesting recipe. Mom says she might like pumpkin soup with all those ingredients, BUT she would have to leave out the curry, she absolutely does not like that AT ALL.. Oh well, we like our pumpkin plain or souped up:)
