YES. I’m thankful. Because my dad is back. I’m a happy pup today and now my silvermistygrey world looks much better.  It was the bestest surprise ever as he called me at noon and said he comes home. After a good sunday it became worse yesterday after they removed the catheter and there was no way to place a new one the common way, so they had to find a way through his abdomen wall. They also changed the meds yesterday and it seems the new meds work much better. Butt as always, every rose has thornes, nothing is perfect or purrrrfect like the kitties would say.

My dad has an appointment with the anesthesist  on thursday and on monday he has to go back to the hospital for surgery. The dogtor told my dad, that there is no way  to avoid the surgery, he diagnosed an  inflammatory prostatitis and he said the antibiotics alone are not strong enough to beat it down. Now my dad has to wear an indwelling catheter and I have to be careful when I jump around that I will not hurt him. He looks  peelie wally and fragile, so he has to spend  more time on my bed. I brought him some toys, maybe that cheers him up a little…

We aren’t round the corner , butt it looks much better and we see some light. And we know there is a way, that they can repair my dad.

His tears were running as he read all your comments and your mails and he is totally speechles… so I have to talk for him and all what I can say is:

for all the comments, the mails and the crossed paws, the tailwaggs, the healing purrs and the card from the magic garden in Oz where good thoughts grow.

Thanks that you were there as my mom was discouraged and demoralized, as we felt alone and stranded at night and as we couldn’t find the way out of the vale of doom.

I know it needs a while  till we are back to normal, butt I also know it’s possible… because we have you and we have each other

  1. We are sending much love and healing thoughts to your Dad. That catheter has to be so painful. Our hearts go out to all of you. I will have no email access starting tomorrow til Sunday (will be at Barkworld and am not bringing my laptop). I won’t see updates, but will check when I get home. I emailed you a card, if you don’t see it, please check your spam. I sent it a few days ago. Sending much love!! Caren, Dakota and Cody

Easy, we are so glad to hear that your Dad is back home, and you are taking good care of him. I’m sure the prospect of surgery is very scary, but everyone will be praying that everything goes well. We wish that your family didn’t have to go through this at all, but since you do, we will continue to give you all the love and support you need. xxoo

Awwwww, Easy, you got your dad back! He might look a little peelie wally and fragile but what is most impawtant, he is completely repairable! I’m waiting eagerly for the continuation of the battle for the Alpha-Male status in your crib! He will not have to wear that strange leash for a long time but he will be fixed soon and will be able to lose his dignity at the next dog show again!

  12. Dear Easy – yay! your Dad is home. we are thankful that he will be getting the treatment that he needs to get all better. Our dad may have had something similar – but he did not need surgery. he took antibiotics for 45 days – and now he takes a daily medicine. We will keep our paws crossed that the surgery will go well and your Dad will be on the road to full recovery.
    hugs and love

Evie Cat and I are very happy to hear that Dad is home and that the docs are making plans to get him feeling even better. That whole “not knowing what in the hell is going on” business is about enough to drive a pup crazy. We’ll keep sending purrs and hugs and lots of love y’all’s way.

  14. We are crossing our paws fur your dad. That was so thoughtful of you to bring him your toys to make him feel better. Sometimes I wonder what humans would do without the love and support of their dogs. Easy, tell your dad to take it easy for a while.

My sisters and I have our paws crossed that he gets fixed up good as new very soon. If I lived closer, I would bake for him. Just keep bringing him toys, and don’t jump on him if you can avoid it. Take care of your mom too as she most likely needs lots of cuddling.

  21. Cupcake says:

Well, inflammatory prostatitis sounds like a topping for a pizza, which would be delicious. It’s less delicious for your dad, I’m sure, but he looks strong and determined, and not very peelie wally at all…. so I have no doubt that he will be back to health, soon. That no jumping idea will be a tough nut, but I’m sure you can crack it, E. Hugs and happy thoughts to all of you. xoxo

    Love and licks,

Hooray!!! That was scary Easy but with so much positive energy aimed at your little family Dad HAD to come home. ❤ ❤ ❤

  38. Oh, Easy we are so happy your dad is home. You are such an astute dog to understand he needs gentle closeness – and a few toys presented as needed. (Molly keeps tossing some at the screen, but we’ve told her you’ve got plenty to share…and they probably aren’t as damp and chewy.
We are sending healing thoughts and prayers (just brush off the excess dog and cat hair – nothing gets out of here without a few tuffs…but those, RC Cat says, are mementos to assure the one absent they are remembered, cared for, and there are those waiting for a safe return.)
Smiles are very healing and you are prodding him in that direction.
