  1. We love how you’ve illustrated that song!! Now I will be humming that all the day long.

That is a promising bloom to be!
Ours put up two stalks and 8 flowers. Too bad they don’t last very long.

  2. Well done! Like Ingrid said I’ll probably be humming that song all day now. Love the boys on the bed having a pillow for a snack and singing – I imagine whoever that is in bed wasn’t too happy about it though! That amaryllis is very close to popping – make sure and show us when it does…..

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

  10. We love your illustration of that song, and we hope you get a bloom from the amaryllis before spring.

  11. Charlee: “Ooh, tell us more about the blackbirds!”
Chaplin: “Like where we can go to watch them speaking!”

  12. Hee! Hee! You have given the Peep and ear worm! The only problem is that she will sing – out loud! Too bad she can’t carry a tune! We LOVE the springing photo and your Amaryllis! Keep being awesome guys! (PS the sky shots are fabulishious! Terrific colors). Purrs Marvelous Marv

Gail first sung that song at school morning assembly, a few years before Cat Stevens made it famous. She just looked up her old hymn book and has learned that the words are a poem by Eleanor Farjeon and the tune is a traditional Gaelic one.
    Happy Nature Friday!

  14. The green stick is a lovely tribute. It expresses hope.

    Love and licks,

We love that song and we love Cat Syevens…but he didn’t write it. It is a porm written in 1031 by the poet Eleanor Farjeon. Cat Stevens did much to popularize it, for sure. I had never heard it before I heard his version.

A beautiful rendition of a pretty song, although morning has broken like the firs morning is just lazy song writing.

  23. We like the words, but don’t know the song. Mom, however, says she caught an ear worm… Nice to see you both doing…well, what you do, BOL!

  24. Lee and Phod says:

Dear pals – please send spring over the pond. Yesterday there was a lot of snow and Lady tried to go to work and was almost in an accident cause the roads were so bad she turned around and came home. This morning it was -26C.
