the green stick. aka the amaryllis what probably gets a flower next christmas…

We love how you’ve illustrated that song!! Now I will be humming that all the day long.
That is a promising bloom to be!
Ours put up two stalks and 8 flowers. Too bad they don’t last very long.
Well done! Like Ingrid said I’ll probably be humming that song all day now. Love the boys on the bed having a pillow for a snack and singing – I imagine whoever that is in bed wasn’t too happy about it though! That amaryllis is very close to popping – make sure and show us when it does…..
Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
This is a very lovely post!
Such fancy wording in your post today, nicely done!
We always loved Cat Steven’s songs, especially Morning Has Broken and your photos are perfect for the song. We can’t wait to see the color or your amaryllis!
oohhhhhhh…. you excelled with your post today…. such beautifurs sunshots and dog-peeks and…. okay, maybe the amaryllis needs to get its act on… hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
I love this song and I sing along with it Cat Stevens was really popular when my 58-year-old son was it young teen and he loved Cat Stevens. I like the song and I like your version of it
OMDs BOYz well done using Cat Stevens words for the beautiful photos.
I know Rosy is tickled
Great photos for that song…Mom now has an earworm too.
We love your illustration of that song, and we hope you get a bloom from the amaryllis before spring.
Charlee: “Ooh, tell us more about the blackbirds!”
Chaplin: “Like where we can go to watch them speaking!”
Hee! Hee! You have given the Peep and ear worm! The only problem is that she will sing – out loud! Too bad she can’t carry a tune! We LOVE the springing photo and your Amaryllis! Keep being awesome guys! (PS the sky shots are fabulishious! Terrific colors). Purrs Marvelous Marv
Gail first sung that song at school morning assembly, a few years before Cat Stevens made it famous. She just looked up her old hymn book and has learned that the words are a poem by Eleanor Farjeon and the tune is a traditional Gaelic one.
Happy Nature Friday!
The green stick is a lovely tribute. It expresses hope.
Love and licks,
If morning has broken, do us all a favor and fix it.
Lovely pictures and Cat Stevens… great combination. A great choice for Rosy!
Furabuluss song da Phenny an da Nelly!!!!
Howl itt loud an proud!

***nose bopss*** BellaDharma an ((hugss)) BellaSita Mum
We love that song and we love Cat Syevens…but he didn’t write it. It is a porm written in 1031 by the poet Eleanor Farjeon. Cat Stevens did much to popularize it, for sure. I had never heard it before I heard his version.
1931 – not 1031.
Such beautiful sky photos boys and the pillow talk looks like fun!
That is one of Mama’s most favorite songs…what beautiful pictures to accompany it!!
I bet that amaryllis gets a beautiful flower…thanks so much!!
What a beautiful morning photo!
A beautiful rendition of a pretty song, although morning has broken like the firs morning is just lazy song writing.
We like the words, but don’t know the song. Mom, however, says she caught an ear worm… Nice to see you both doing…well, what you do, BOL!
Dear pals – please send spring over the pond. Yesterday there was a lot of snow and Lady tried to go to work and was almost in an accident cause the roads were so bad she turned around and came home. This morning it was -26C.
aweeee I love that song and your interpretation
