Our Christmas cactus had a bazillion (that’s just an estimate….) flowers on it this year but they are all GONE now. We need to train it to flower for CHRISTMAS and not for two weeks before!
Hugs, Teddy
That was interesting about the Christmas/Thanksgiving cactus. Mine is very old (70+years) and confused. It used to flower at Christmas but the last few years has flowered in November. It flowers right through January though. I did a post about it last week on my other blog. If you want to read about it it is here:

Mom is always bummed we don’t have our Christmas cactus anymore. She got one from Gramma years ago but cat bro Bert ripped it apart and killed it. Enjoy yours, it is very pretty.

OOOOOHHHH that truly are a beaut! You and cows celebrate rightly, methinks. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Your Christmas cactus is just beautiful with so many gorgeous blooms!
Well we will still think of it as a Christmas cactus, even if its in bloom in mid-summer!
WOW what a beautiful cactus…I had a Christmas Cactus years ago. I found out one can actually kill something with kindness/water. BOL
Hugs Cecilia
That cactus is so beautiful with all those pretty pink blossoms. We never knew there were different kinds of them either. Maybe if you are lucky it will keep blooming right through Christmas.
Lulu: “Thanksgiving, Christmas, either way, look at all the pretty flowers!”
Java Bean: “I wonder if I can eat them …”
And now we all know the difference. Yours has beautiful flowers on it and they are different than my Christmas cactus that I used to have. I brought it home from when my mother died in 1990 and my husband kept it alive all those years until 2017 when he had his stroke and by the time he got better from his stroke the plant was dead. Killed by my black thumb or lack of care I had no idea there was this many different cactus. Love love the cows
it’s pretty but I LOVE cows! Thanks for their pretty pictures
Be careful boys, we’ve heard those christmas cactus can be hazardous to your health. Of course, that could also be fake news, right?
Hmm, that post about the differences in holiday cactus makes me think our’s is an over eager Thanksgiving cactus that can’t fully decide which holiday it’s supposed to bloom. Its blooms last almost 3 months. What a beautiful rose you gave to Rosy!
What a pretty cactus!
Thank you for the kind words about Harley.
That’s a lot of pretty pink you funny pups and I love those cows too!
Cows have such honest faces !
I didn’t even know that flowers knew how to read a calendar! Imagine that!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
We love the Thanksgiving flowers and the cows!!

xoxo,

This blog had an excellent cow to flower ratio

**nose bopss** BellaDharma an ((hugss)) BellaSita Mum
Did you get to tip the cows?
Now we know the difference. But somehow I doubt the cows will care about that. They just eat the flowers.
A very lovely cactus, no matter the variety!
We have one with the pointy ‘leaves’. and its in bloom right now, as is a baby I made from it. Hover he second ‘baby conked out, I do think it was wet and got too cold so it froze. We’ll see if I can nurse it back, as it too had set buds!
They are upstairs in our unheated bedrooms (The temp stays between 50and 65F)…and I dare not bring them to the living room, even though they are so pretty right now.
Love your cows!! We have a few cows a few houses down from us, on a hobby farm. Sometimes I can hear them lowing!
