BON CHEW & COWCOW
Normandy is marked by the landing,
it is inscribed in peoples hearts ,
in memories, in stone, in rebuilding ,
in memorial plaques, in street names, everywhere.

So many heroes, alas so many of them lost. We need to remind our next generation and those following so that we never have to see such things again…but a;lass some peeps in our world do not ‘get it’. So sad, peace and freedom are so fragile when we don’t pay attention to our fellowmen as brothers.
When we cruise we sometimes stop at Le Havre. The ship does tours to the beaches where the landings took place. I would really like to visit and to see the memorials but the tours are quite active and my mobility is very limited.I will have to try and organise a private tour for next time we are there before it is too late for me to be able to do it. It is a place I really want to see.

It looks like a very patriotic place to mark all the things that went on there.
So glad you got to visit this moment in time that changed the world as we know it. Did you see any bats? heh heh heh? you know what I mean
What a beautiful day to visit this memorial.
Hugs Cecilia
What an amazing memorial-I can only guess as to the thoughts one has when visiting this landmark. Wishing you a “wagnificent Weimsday.”
Lulu: “A monument to getting done something that absolutely had to get done. Happy Weimnsday to you!”
That’s a very solemn place to visit. So many lives were lost but so much was gained during that offensive.
What a beautiful place for so many who gave so much.
That’s a beautiful memorial.
Beautiful!
Pretty, but sad. A late friend of ours visited there some years ago. He fought there in the war.
Love and licks,

War sucks! And as far as WWII goes: the Germans destroyed things and shot people in Normandy and sadly the allies destroyed French things too, when they tried to destroy German things.
My grandparents went there are were very moved
