BON CHEW & COWCOW

and welcome to a new epawsode of our funny cooking contest… and together with da CANADIAN CATS, we present you today:

FALL STEW or STEW FALL

NELLY’s wild veggie stew

you need:

cut all things in slices or pieces and roast it a little in a pan…

…then throw it in a cockpot and cook it till nothing looks like before… or till you think it is enough… we used no wine, the staff is weird enough even without hehe…

add a little bit sour cream or creme fraiche if you want and dig in!

…oh man da Phenny where were you? I had to do efurrything alone today and it was not even eatable, because it was all that veggie stuff!

..well let’s say I was in a restaurant and had a ginormous t-bone steak… and it was good I tell ya…. with french fries and ketchup and lots of mayo…

oh man you are da meanest weasel of da world!… uh whatever I don’t care….

…wooooah! I’ll eat your heart with a spoon…. maybe, but even that is NO! steak dude… hehehehe

Hmmm as I do no wine nor onion, garlic or mushroom, this one would be a little skinny on my stove! But and instead some cauli and zucchini plus some pumpkin…what say you? Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx

  4. Sounds and looks fabulous! Bet you horrible hounds were perfectly happy with it 😀

  5. Gail likes the look of that stew and says adding a good slosh of red wine never fails to please!

  6. That looks good but the wine would definitely go in!

  7. That looks so yummy but I know you guys wish that beef would have been added!

with my new low fodmap conquer the IBS symptoms there are several things I could not eat, but if i could i would like this. Beau loves veggies, but i have not tried peppers, i love red and yellow peppers and they are on my new diet. so far I have had 4 days of no symptoms but will have to wait a couple of weeks to tell.
i must say the photos of you guys have a big smile on my face.. love you both

  10. My GBGV Life says:

Mom’s first thought after reading the ingredients was, where’s the beef? It sounds good without the beef and we would leave out the wine too. Thanks for the recipe.

  11. Yep, got to have some meat and bring on the slosh of wine. It is a great recipe and the sour cream would make us happy!

  12. Mmmm. Love colored bell peppers and never tried them in a stew. I’ll be adding some cheap red wine, but, unfortunately, the alcohol cooks off Guess we’ll have two have a couple of glasses of it with the stew, too!

  13. What a delicious looking veggie stew….very hearty and colorful too.
Well done to the staff and BTW the last photo of you two is adorable
    Hugs Cecilia

  20. Sounds fabulous! And ‘pawfect’ for vegetarians (with apologies to da meat-eating Nelly and Phenny).

  21. Veggie stew! Sounds good. All it needs is a bunch of beef and it’ll be good to go. Wait. What?

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  22. The OP Pack says:

Mom loves all things veggie, so this would be a big hit with her for sure. And maybe she might even add a hint of that wine:)

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  23. Our Mama id drooling a little bit…she loves veggies, and may have to make this for lunch tomorrow!!
    xoxo,
    Jakey and the Gang

  24. Lee and Phod says:

We think it looks great. Fun fact, our Lady is defective and doesn’t like stew because she doesn’t like gravy (except on bread). Man doesn’t make it often because of that.

  25. Marsha Gay says:

I am sure you are a great sous chef.

  26. Kismet says:

Make a quadrouple batch for me. Forget the other stuff and gimme the wine.

  27. Lulu: “That is a disappointingly large amount of vegetables in that dish! Maybe there’ll be steak tomorrow …”
