BON CHEW & COWCOW

to  Nature Furryday

hosted by da LLB-Crew,

…are ya in da mood for a trip? so let’s go and hop into da Black Maria, we drive to Brest .

…the weather was so super fabulous …

like summer and we had da ac at full power while we rolled snailish through da breton botany…

… there was one construction site after another…

…that’s a BIG project what helps to make the infrastructure much better and it will push our area a little to recover after all that sh*t what came down on us since the end of 2019…

…and there are those who want to “protect” nature with destroying and damaging the things what were built with the money from  tax payers … and apart from that they drove with CARS!!!! from bridge to bridge … that caused pollution too… just saying… butt anyway …

..after 87 hours we saw our destination… Brest.  On slice earth  since ~1240, 143k noses, harbor, fortress and last part of western europe, direct neighbor of the US, there is just some water between us…

…  giant harbor and naval base , submarine base what made it interesting for  german invaders in WWII, who declared Brest to a fortress what they had to hold till da last bullet… result 10 k more dead soldiers and a town what ended nearly  bulldozed…

..therefore Brest has nothing from charming towns in brittany, historic buildings and the typical breton flair is gone, it was more important to build homes after WWII and it had to be practical… there was not much time for constructing architectural gems, so it looks like it looks now…

…but there is this cable stayed bridge, Pont del’Iroise, over river  Elórn what’s a masterpiece of art of engineering…

…and there are still parts of the old town and the castles and towers….

… and you can see lighthouses and ships and there is also Oceanopolis…

… da beaches are more so-so, but it’s difficult to find a place where dogs are allowed, so we had to take what we found..

… but at least it was not crowded… the other places we saw were and believe it or not it, was march 31st. and the people took a bath in the atlantic ocean….. yay for the offsprings of La Tigresse!!!

… we furst thought to raid da Octave and da Oxford, who are two weim boys,  but because we had to be at home 7pm, we hopped back in da Black Maria and tried to come home in time…

…apart from that, we had a shit-venture at that rotten beach, suddenly two dogs came out from a property and tried to attack da Phenny… da mama jumped in da battle and got a nip   next to her arm pit, but it’s just blue, no blood and such… and she has bruised knees from a salto she did, after she tried to kick one dog away while da phenny jumped after the other one, but finally we won that fight and the two a-hats ran back to their den…

…and all that although I was friendly and wanted to say hello to that two…

…pfff there you have it… to be friendly pays not always off… I showed my teeth and growled like Cujo so they buzzed off immediately and went after you…

… lesson learnt,  I’m a yob  now like you ….

…and with da rose for Rosy, we wish you a funny furryday and a

GOOD WEEKEND

….wait, wait, wait… don’t run away we have a Birthday Greeting….

Happy Happy Birthday

to Marg

with flowers we saw on our walk….

tulips…

Iris..

…and a real and authentic wall flower.

  1. What a shame the day ended so rudely. Brest does look rather triste. Your flowers certainly cheered us up.

  2. Zoolatry says:

Day trippers, fun. Thank you for sharing wishes with Miss Marg!

  3. How rude of those pups when all Phenny wanted to do was say hi. Thank goodness your mama wasn’t hurt worse. Happy Birthday to Marg!

  4. That was quite an interesting place you traveled to but indeed that’s one of the ugliest “beaches” ever! Too bad there was a MEAN dog there and your Mama got chomped on by one of the BAD BOYS. Other than that, hope you had some fun just being out of the house for a while!!!!

    Hugs, Teddy

  5. Memories of Eric and Flynn says:

That was a pity that those bully dogs spoiled the end of the day out. Like Brest, Plymouth had a lot of bomb damage from the Germans and large areas were destroyed. New ugly 1950s buildings were soon built, but we also still have a lot of historic buildings, particularly in the Barbican area.

  6. We’re really sorry you were attacked, and your Mama too! How come you went to Brest? We thought you could only go 10km from your home!

    Woofs,
    Ollie

  7. My GBGV Life says:

Sounds like quite the adventure, but what a bummer with those dogs. Bailie and Mom got chased by a dog last week when they were out running. Bailie stayed calm as the big loose dog tried to get her to do something but it was very scary. Have a great weekend.

  8. Hari OM
Aw heck – I was so enjoying the visit to Brest with you, then those gangdogs had to go and spoil things… hope there are no aftereffects for you. I enjoyed the outing apart from that. Hugs and wags, YAM=aunty xxx

  9. Not good about those dogs that bit the mama and tried to fight with you Boys! But all the flowers are beautiful and the rose bud for Rosy, too! Happy Birthday to Marg… very pretty flowers you have for her.

  10. Da Phenny and Da Nelly what a wonderful tour we took. You two make the bestest guides and Da Dad did a find job of keeping Black Maria on the road and Da Ma did a great job of photographing the journeny. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour too. And OMDs you found flowers for Marg.
    Well done my friends
    Hugs Cecilia

  11. Too bad about the mean dog. It looks like you had a good trip other than that.

  12. Brian says:

That was a nice tour boys, we do like those water views. Happy Birthday to the very special Marg from all of us.

  14. The cable bridge looks kind of scary, but not as scary as your mama jumping in to fight the bullies to protect her boys. She is a hero!

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  15. Caren says:

oh my that is awful!!! What dumb dog would want to even try and attack a dog as big as Phenny???!! Thank God you are all ok!!

  16. It sounded like most of the trip was nice but it sure ended on a down note. We’re glad nobody was seriously hurt. You sure found some pretty flowers to help Marg celebrate her birthday.

  17. Sandra Hangey says:

There’s so much to comment on I don’t know where to start first but I’ll start with the last thing on your post. I just absolutely love that Wallflower. I am so sorry that Mama got didn’t and that you were attacked by those mean dogs. Oh no on the traffic and the construction and the not-so-friendly empty Beach. So glad you got back home and I do hope you got back home by 7 for whatever reason that was and I do have to say that both of you look safe and sound and beautiful as always. March will love her flowers.

  18. Oh gosh! I’m glad everyone is okay after that encounter.

  19. Timmy Tomcat says:

What an adventure such rude dogs. Glad you are home safe. Happy Birthday Marg

  20. What an exciting post! There was trips to Brest, bridges, towers, construction, rain, beaches, dog walks, Roses for Rosie and then THE Birthday for the most famous Cat Lady ever, MARG! We LOVE the flowers you found for her! You guys ROCK! We hope your Mama recovers from her battle with the vicious interlopers! We hope you and your family have the bestest happy weekend!

  21. The Gang at LLB says:

What a fun trip to the sea..,.except for those a-hats….Which is why our Mama doesn’t take us to the beach anymore…

Such beautiful flowers for Marg…and I love my Rosy rose!!
    xoxo,
    Rosy

  22. What an interesting trip you took (sorry for your mama with the attack on the da Phenny). And what a beautiful bouquet for Miss Marg who we hope has a ‘furbulous’ birthday! Happy weekend.

  23. Can’t even imagine going into such freezing ocean water! Bret looks like an interesting place with lots of history, even though the buildings are gone. The flowers are pretty, and we wish Marg a happy birthday too!

  24. The OP Pack says:

Thank you for the tour of Brest. But we are so sorry about that midadventure with those rude pups and peeps. We hope Mama is OK.

Happy Birthday to our dear friend, Marg. Beautiful flowers, especially that yellow rosebud.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  25. In The Netherlands where petcretary’s pawrents came from, there are a lot of cities like your Brest….smashed to bits….or partially ruined and rebuilt, etc. Rotterdam was left alone and rebuilt as modern. Nijmegen, Oma’s home town, was restored as best as possible, so the old part of the city looks almost like in old pictures.

Sorry about the nasty dogs running loose. Argghh; Grrrr! We’ll snark them too if we see them here.

Pawppy enjoyed seeing the traffic regulative signage over there, quite different than here, LOL! He is the traffic engineer at our city.
Unfurbro-the-younger would love to see that bridge, he is a civil engineer, too…and his specialty is structures like bridges!

You sure found some wonderful flowers on your walk!
Marg will enjoy them so much!
Happy Birthday to our friend, Marg!!

  26. Marsha Gay says:
