BON CHEW & COWCOW,
… look the mama made da furst christmas cookies this year… we used a recipe for Butter-Pecan Cookies, but in this land pecans are rare so we replaced them with walnuts from our tree…
….and we helped her with da nuts and with all that stuff…
…and because she thought they look a little dry, da Nelly solved that problem…
… but even with being da early berd, da stores were faster with presenting all that christmess stuff… so the mama gets only da second place…
…can you read da words da Nelly?…
.. wait I have to come a little closer, seems I’m myopic…
… boy are we glad that we rarely get visitors … and when you want to try that cookies what are VERY tasty , here is da recipe:
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup butter softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 cup finely chopped pecan
- 1 cup powdered sugar for dusting
INSTRUCTIONS
-
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- In stand mixer cream butter and powdered sugar. Turn to low and mix in salt, vanilla, flour and pecans. Roll into one inch balls. Place on parchment covered baking sheets a few inches part. Bake for 11-13 minutes or until very lightly browned. Do not over bake
- Remove from oven and allow to cool just enough to handle them. Pour 1 cup powdered sugar in large Ziploc bag or in a wide bowl. Gently add 3-4 cookies at a time and roll them gently in the bottom of the bag. Use fork to scoop under each cookie and gently shake to remove excess powdered sugar. Place on cooling racks. Once completely cooled roll in powdered sugar bag again….
Oh, YUM!!
We truly do not blame you, Da Nelly for giving them a taste test!!
Did you get some too, DaPhenny??
Can you send the crumbs to us?? BOL!
Is there chocolate on that cookies? Do not give your dog chocolate. Theobromyn.
WOW! I just wanted to jump there… I am sure they are soooo delicious… Thank you Lovely Great Team, Love, nia
As it seems it is never going to stop raining here in Aberdeen I am sending Gail out to buy the ingredients for these yummy looking cookies right away! (In this household, we have a practice known as Bad Weather Baking).
Toodle pip!

Those cookies do look very tasty.
Great cookies, with tested taste!
They sure look fucking good, Phenny and Nelly…MOL😸Pawkisses for a Happy Day🐾😽💞
Oh my! Those cookies look delish! My only problem is where do we buy the Weim-spit for added moisture in the mix????????? Is that in grocery stores???????
Hugs, Teddy
😸 Yuk (Washe cat can’t read) however enjoys a high protein a kibble now and then from the bait bucket 😉
Mom has made that cookie recipe before but she rolls the cookies in powdered sugar and they don’t have letters on them☺
Those sound real good, but Mom would like to replace the nuts with chocolate 🙂 Enjoy.

OMD, so simple, so lush… I’ll be making these when I get back to Edinburgh as the father loves his cookies!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
WooHoo I have a very similar cookie recipe that my Mom used to make.
She called them ‘refrigerator cookies’. Once they were all mixed, and rolled into 3 separate logs they were wrapped in saran wrap. She often made double batches. She kept about 1/2 in the freezer. As needed take them out and cook as needed.
Ours also had candied red and green cherries and walnuts. Very festive
Hugs Cecilia
This is very accurate. I see the mama’s signature on them! 🙂
Fresh walnuts from your own tree sounds delicious.
I knew I smelled something good! And I’m thinking it wasn’t a good dog because I see somebody taking a chunk out of a cookie. They really look delicious if only I could eat sugar. I eat vegan bites that are sweetened with fruit. Also I don’t baked but if I did I would do these looks pretty simple
I’m probably not a good judge, because I have never met a cookie I didn’t love, but those sound YUMMY. And they look hilarious!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
That looks delish! Unfortunately our dad can’t have any nuts so we can’t make any.
I still think you boys need your own cooking program on the TV!
thanks for the recipe, weim approved!
Walnuts from your own tree in the cookies sound great!
They look very good! Going to try them even with the letters for the f-bomb!!!
Yum…sounds delish. Anything with lots of butter is our favorite!
Hey, nuts are nuts, right? Mom loves pecans, but she would be happy with walnuts too. Save some for us.

Mmmmmmmm, Mama is drooling over here, these look delicious!!!
The cookies sound good, but that’s not our usual Christmas greeting. 🙂
