guess where we were yesterday?
… in Segré for da furst dog show of da year….
…and because this time most shows are postboned or cancelled, but this one really happened, there were 1271 pups, much more than during the last years…
… and it was super crowded…
… butt the people of ACMA who organized the show, tried efurrything to conform with the rules and to make it to a good day for the people and the dogs..
… so because the weather guys prognosted sun and heat (but were wrong like always!) they splitted the groups in 3 parts and the brachycephalic breeds had their turn in the early morning to avoid the heat and then came the two other parts…
… butt god laughs at the plans of man and it was not hot nor sunny but rainy and the idea, that those who are not in the ring of honor drive home was also wishful thinking.
…so there we were and waited till our ring was free .. that was a little difficult to have 5 males in this small ring and the noises we made were perfectly for the background of jurassic park….
… and beacuse da Nelly can not wait patiently like this cute girl, he started to pester the mama and barked and moaned and groaned…
… sadly we have no photos of us in the ring this time, because we all 4 were inside , butt trust us when we tell you that it was no fun this time… the bad mood of da Nelly was rewarded immediately and he was 4th with a very good, while a Phenny who sadly could not please the judge was the 5th…
…butt you can see that there is not much room for five of us… and well… boys are boys, right?
…and so we won nothing this time, although the mama stepped in da biggest poo pile ever… butt maybe even da poo was better in da old days, this time it brought no luck to her only horrible stench… and that in da black bag in da photo above is not da poo pile butt her dignity…
… and we sure were glad to leave shortly after our ring time…
We say thank you to Association Canine Maine Anjou, that was brave to pull through and to stand your ground against all odds and it was everything done to please the authorities and the people and pets… under this circumstances, rules, restrictions and whatnot you found the best way for all.

I never liked rainy shows! You behaved well anyway.
I am not very pleased that this show took place. It wasn’t necessary, it was a pure vanity show – which is fine if there is no pandemic, but not quite now.
#1 was at a Percheron horse show yesterday and everyone was wearing masks. Here we had rain all weekend. and it was quite cool.

UHOH……just goes to show no matter how hard we PLAN that doesn’t mean that Mother Nature and Madame Fate care what plans are – they have their OWN! Who wins? Why THEY do of course. Sorry there was a poo incident (P.U.) and that Da Nelly and Da Phenny didn’t score BIG. At least it was an adventure – right???????

The new rules for dog sports are not much fun either, but we are just happy dog sports are actually happening. Glad you got out to a show, but sorry you didn’t win any pretty ribbons. Hopefully there will be another show soon.
wow, this was interesting.. and I did not laugh about the poo step part, i would be crushed. but i did crack a smile or two about the 4th and 5th place winners… love you two and your are both NUMBER 1 to us.. also had no idea what brachycephalic was, so looked it up and now I know our dear friends in LLB backyard are all brachycephalic

Kinda like our show, since first one everyone wanted to get out and so something since all cooped up but that’s a whole ton of dogs and people. Sorry the guys didn’t do well, always nice to go and be part of show and experience. Their winners in my eyes.
