guess what? It is time for a new DIY project isn’t it?

.. so that day the stores opened again and  we allowed the staff to go shopping with us… The mama bought a lot of uselessshitnooneneedsandwhatsanywayjustforthetrashcan and this time even our dad bought something…

…we had no clue what it was neither had he an idea, but with lots of curses he tinkered something together…

…no duct tape this time?

….that looks very weird, but we have our generous day and help you for a tasty beef ear…

…and after 87 hours  it was ready… and it was…

…a small desk for the mama!!!

…sadly da desk is too high or da chair too low…

…and the smart idea ended as an error 404… incombatible…

…butt our dad is our dad and so he tried to make the chair higher … what didn’t work but he damaged something and now it is a rocking chair and you sway around like a sailor in a hurricane when you park your butt on that thingy and the desk is still too high, or the chair too low…

… butt anyway, there is always a plan B and da dad put a footstool on da chair…

…and VIOLA! problem solved the chair fits pawfectly to da desk… who’da thunk it? Sadly the mama was unhappy and she said some unladylike words to da dad and the desk is no longer a member of da living room…

…butt who cares, da hard working trio needs a nap … it’s not easy to please a mom isn’t it?

Seems the female human needs a new chair for that desk …

  2. Well ya know that little mini table actually is a very GOOD IDEA but the chair just doesn’t fit the GOOD IDEA. New chair???? Pile of cushions for The Mama to sit on maybe like the Princess and the Pea story???? I’m sure there’s a DIY solution for this problem and if anyone can figure it out – it’s your Dad.

    Hugs, Teddy

  3. Christine says:

PVC pipe might fix the chair. Mine did the same thing. I got tired of using a desk, so now I do everything on my phone and sit in the recliner. Problem solved

  4. It all seemed like a good idea at the time… 😀

  5. My GBGV Life says:

It is important to have the chair and desk match so humans can sit correctly when they work. Too bad it didn’t work out.

  6. We think the mama’s facial expressions say it all…

At one point I decided if I wanted crap furniture, I’d pay someone else to put it together poorly instead of raising my blood pressure doing it! I once bought a CD storage cabinet because the catalog description failed to note it had to be assembled. Eight hours of hell, stripped phillips head screws, an important component assembled backwards that added two hours to the eight total by the time I unassembled, then reassembled it…. Argh! I feel for Dad! His best intentions and efforts resulted in nought. Been there, assembled that!

  8. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Well, that desk looks just right as far as I’m concerned. It is definitely the chair that is the problem! Having a similar problem some time back, I invested in a proper office chair – and it was one of the best investments ever… jus’ sayin’… hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

Tell da Ma she looks quite fashionable in her out of the house armor. BOL BOL
I tell you getting ready for a quick trip store is not so quick anymore.
Your Dad is a DIY genius!!
    Hugs Cecilia

  11. Your dad did a great job on the desk. Maybe next week can be “new chair” week at the store.

  12. Brian says:

That desk sure was mighty tall boys!

  13. Cupcake says:

Getting out to the stores is the best feeling. Buying useless things is like a reflex from the excitement. Your dad’s heart was in the right place. At least nobody needed stitches or bandages. I consider that a win at your house.

    Love and licks,

  14. Too bad he couldn’t make the desk shorter. It’s the thought that counts, isn’t it?

  15. Sandra Hangey says:

might i say to your mama, that is, if i can stop laughing long enough to type, I am betting a MAN designed that desk. I mean who has a chair that high, maybe it was a giant man. ha ha… life gone awry.. the good news is it made the pawfect post to make me laugh… tell mama to search Amazon, they have AMAZING desks and they are tiny like that and can be adjusted. i saw one in my doctor office and she said she got it from amazon. if this link doesnet work, search for adjustable laptop desks…

  16. Sandra Hangey says:

PS if you need help I AM THE AMAZON SHOPPER and I know my Stuff….i have been know to awake from a coma and have things appear from Amazon daily

  17. There is nothing worse than a chair that is too low for the desk (or so #1 tells us!).

  18. lapaylor says:

I can’t find a good desk so I take up the kitchen table. I have shorter legs for my height and shorter arms like a dinosaur, but am 5’7″ so finding a place to perch isn’t easy. the cozy nap picture is so sweet!

  19. It’s too bad your mom’s new desk didn’t work out. At least it kept you and your dad occupied for a while. BOL!

  20. Lavinia Ross says:

A good try! I have my own computer on a rolling cart.

  21. Kismet says:

Guys, it is YOUR fault. Dad + DIY = Disaster.

  22. niasunset says:

My Lovely Team, I am sure aa new chair could be fine for new desk… I loved this new desk… You made me smile again, Thank you, stay in safe, Love, nia

  23. hahaha…this sounds like our place!! No piece of furniture is safe from Mr. Fix It. How many times have I heard…” No need to worry…just a bit off here and twist up there”….and then the item is useless.

  24. that sounds like our house only it’s da Mama at our house who puts everything together because the Dad has the mechanical skills of a flea!

  25. Memories of Eric and Flynn says:

Sometimes those good ideas just don’t work out the way they should.

  26. BOL! We always love seeing what trouble your Dad gets in with his DIY projects! At least he had you two to snuggle with when he was sent out of the room,BOL!

  27. Haha, yes, that fix doesn’t look very comfortable. But it’s the thought that counts.

  28. Bella, Roxy and says:

That last photo seems to be a new slant on ‘in the doghouse’. Well, Dad tried. Maybe he can get a put-together chair next shopping trip.

  29. Lee and Phod says:

That is the perfect chair solution! 🤣🤣🤣

  30. That looks like a nice desk. Mom has two pillows on her chair.

Well, at least Dad tried. Tell Mama to try a fat pillow on the chair. It looks like something that might work well while sitting on the sofa too:)

  35. KB says:

Your DIY stories are always so hilarious! Poor Dad, poor Mom! I bet they’re both laughing!

  36. Ruh Roh. Wells, it was the thought that counts rights??? I hopes the Mama doesn’t needs Dramamine to work on your bloggie….☺

  37. Good ideas sometimes just don’t function the way we thought they should/would…

  38. hahahaha get something new then make something broke, I like the new computer desk.

  39. Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard I snorted coffee up my nose. Men always seem to go with Plan B and it too often involves a step stool or a large phone book. Thank you so much for the smile. I see the helpers did a great job snoopervising the work. 🤩

  40. The Swiss Cats says:

Your dad worked so hard ! Maybe a pillow will do the trick? Purrs

  41. MOL MOL…can’t say that it wasn’t a good idea…hope there are more to come so that your mom can at least sit properly behind the desk😹😹Extra encouraging Pawkiss for that🐾😽💞

  42. M. K. Clinton says:

Let me begin by saying how glad I am that you are back to DIY posts. Secondly, you know I am laughing way too hard at this story. I hope you can make it work without a booster stool.

  43. Lulu: “Hmm, uselessshitnooneneeds? I think we have some of that out in the garage …”
