..because our fridge is as empty as da roads, we had to go shopping…
… we drove to Plémet, there is a small supermarket, so we thought it maybe goes a little better there…
…this time it is a surprise to see at least ONE peep on da street…
… and because that was a dad-idea, we knew that this idea is sh*t as we saw the crowded parking lot of Super U
…only 50 noses can enter the store, all others have to wait … so therefore it is a super idea to drag your kids around for shopping food, that makes it thrilling for all others who have to wait outside… DUH!
… inside of the market it was like normal, apart from mask wearing sales persons and customers…
… some things were sold out, but there is no school and the universities are closed too, so the students help out at the food front, with filling the shelves and with cleaning the shopping carts, that was something what worked from the first minute of the great incarceration and there are enough helpers in our country who keep the ball rolling… we sadly could not buy fresh fruits or veggies, but the mama bought yogurt with fruits, we hope that will do the trick and we will not die from scurvy… not all things were available that day, but to drive to another store or to go shopping again the next day is no option this time, so take what you find and make the best of it…
… and even when the cashier wears a face shield, there is always time for a smile and a friendly word for all customers….
… we think we give the people of brittany an A for their polite behavior and for following the rules. That was always common here, not much words, but deeds. And we also are glad that we can help out the serious sick people of Île-de-France , so the train can bring this people to our hospitals and they will get the treatment they need before they become victims of the triage. And with the police who is present nearly everywhere the idiots became rare too , there is no longer a Tour de France through all villages, so we think we did everything to help to win the fight against the evil…

Oh, I sure hope you are coming out on the better side of all this horrible sickness and its consequences on all of our lives.
I went to the petshop they only let 5 peeps in a t a time, and then for only 5 minutes so you had better know what you need and then run back out of there.
Grocery stores here, well, the larger ones, have not yet implemented a limit on the crowds, they just ask that you follow all the ‘new social rules’.
Hubby found that there are still those who cannot see the x’s on the floors…he wore a mask, which I got extra from work, they were handing out donated home-made ones…at first he did not want to, but then he told me he had it on at the post office and the grocery store.
This week, i do not think I need to go into any of those places…hubby brought home enough. We do have fresh produce here, though, for which we are thankful.

I went shopping for groceries yesterday, too. The shelves looked like yours, with toilet paper and paper towels barely there (one package each), and shelves with cleaning items stripped nearly bare, too. The fresh potatoes were all small varieties, no large baking potatoes left. Other fresh fruit and vegetables were readily available, which was fine because i wanted some broccoli and ruby red grapefruit. The latter is my favorite breakfast fruit! The only people wearing masks were the bread delivery fellow, me, and a lady I passed leaving. I live in a part of the US where people have a problem with ignorance and/or stupidity and/or denial about whats happening. We’ll thank them later (not!) for extending this ordeal of disease and death!
Generally we’ve found the reception in France really good.You obey the rules, all goes well. Glad you got some food even if it wasn’t as healthy as you’d hoped.
At least you were able to get some stuff. Hopefully this will clear up soon.
Good for you! You’re very right too – if everyone would do the RIGHT THING and not travel around spreading the virus or congregating in clumps and making each other sick then this horrid virus would just go away. Congratulations to Brittany for handling things the right way. In our town people are doing a good job for the most part. Most are wearing masks when they go to the grocery – there’s no traffic to speak of although there are still places open for business so workers must be on the road. The police are not stopping people – at least yet. We must all be glad we can get SOME food even though not everything we want or need…………….Times are sad and tough but we will get through it!!

We are waiting in lines here to shop, too. Yesterday, my kids did the shopping for the week. They don’t want me out and about any more than I have to be.
Mostly it’s been good here but we do have a group of folks who don’t like to be told what to do. I can only hope that they are the ones inflicted instead of some person who did all they could.
your shelves look full compared to ours! Yea for that! It’s hard to feel so isolated, and also worry for having enough. Then again, there is food not to starve it just isn’t what we’re used to. We’ve been spoiled all our lives to have so much available. There is food i cans and sometimes frozen and dh scored broccoli and a cabbage yesterday. No TP cleaning products, alcohol, flour but there is hand soap and a frozen pizza and bananas. We clean all before putting in fridge or in cabinets. Almost no one but us wears masks. Like the one guy above, there are so many idiots refusing to see what’s happened. Youths play ball in the fields, adults ride around on bikes with no masks etc. I’m in the American West.
Most people here are doing as they should, but of course you always get some who think it doesn’t apply to them. The supermarkets have tape on the floor to stop people getting closer than 6 feet, and only 1 person per trolley, no families allowed in together.
The police are stopping cars which look like they are out for a drive and not out for essential business. They make them turn around and go home.
What there is on the shelves at that supermarket looks better than the mess our customers have to deal with because most of our good people decided they were too fragile to work and want to take leave AND get paid for it while the rest of us bust our butts to keep the store running for everyone. I wish we had more people like you have there who care more about service than trying to make money for nothing…
Shopping these days is no fun. Our stores are doing fairly well except for the paper and cleaning supplies isles. We’re getting our first grocery delivery this week and we will see how that goes.
We haven’t been able to get our favorite kitty foods but the peep foods were plentiful here. Y’all take care and stay safe, healthy and virus-free.
Here parents are only allowed to bring one kid to the grocery with them and there is a limit to how many people are allowed in at one time. It is sad because stores are only allowing you one gallon of milk at a time yet Ohio has farmers tossing out milk because of the limit.
I am still waiting on Chewy to process my order. Lee told me it is still pending on her credit card so maybe I will just be eating green beans for the future.

Good rule following. Today the Man braved our corner store. There were a few people there but easy to keep his distance. Was able to get some berries and fresh vegetables but no brown sugar. We will survive.

Grocery store clerks, stockers and cashiers have for too long been undervalued. This morning I went to a store at the unholy hour of 6 AM (a special time for old people on Tuesdays) and the staff were all friendly and helpful. It was such a treat to shop in the dark with just a few people and many friendly workers. Kudos to France for making an otherwise horrible situation palatable for the greater good. #wereallinthistogether
No fresh fruits and vegetables is a tough one. The mama could grow arugula and other salad green in pots or in a garden bed. Many greens do actually well at this time of year. Of course the weims wold have to not go digging in her garden or eat the plants. 🙂
Our shops are counting customers and we have to wait in lines too, bummer you couldn’t buy any fresh fruits. Purrs
We are trying to go to the smaller stores for food but we always need something from the bigger markets. Just have a number limit also for going inside. Thanks for the share. Hopefully, the next day with be better with your shopping at a different location.
Mama is glad she can get our foodies in the mail. She goes to the grocery store once a week, and they have the same rulez. Only a certain amount of peeps allowed in the store at a time. Most of our stores are well stocked accept for paper products and cleaning supplies….Hang in there boyz, we hope this is all over by summertime!

That’s good to know–that everyone is doing the right thing. Our Supermarkets have limited people inside…a person marks everyone going in and when they come out on a clipboard. All are masked and gloved…with ‘stand here, please’ stickers at safe distancing on the floors. Seems to be working.
We’re glad it was not too bad out there for you, and that most of the idiots have gone into hiding!! If only they’d stay there forever, right? 🙂

We have much the same here. Mom isn’t going into any stores, but the daughters help out with some things. The rest she orders online, waits a week or more for the schedule to occur, and then less than half of the order is there:( A lot of the stores here are not allowing children under the age of 16 in the stores to make the aisles less congested. And some stores have made the aisles one way only. We hope things get better soon. Thank dogness for Chewy.com

We are much the same here in South Australia, and like you there is limited stock in the supermarkets although we do have plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, plenty of bread but no flour, limited soap, few soap products -i..e. hand cleaner and no toilet rolls. At the moment we are not too bad. We are not in lockdown but movement is limited and I do the shopping. Annabell stays home.
I am glad your dad had a successful trip to the store. I don’t know if it will be a pleasant experience because Americans are asshats.
Oh yes, it is like that here too. you can go to more than one store if you wants, butts you gots to have on some comfy shoes, cause you gots to wait and wait and wait to gets in, butts once you do, it is easy to shop. we got lots of fresh produce, I can send some through my transport tunnel if you wants? I thinks the hoarding is kinda letting up nows, once in a while you can find some paper products, and if you’re REALLY lucky you can find some wipes! No sanitizer, butts I thinks Ma has got that covered, cause she always had some on hand before all this started. Anyhu, you guys keep your peeps safe, and don’t forgets to wash their paws, k?

Well, the pictures along the drive are interesting – a little weird here, too without much traffic. Most are staying in, this week people have started wearing mask on their limited food search outings, but some must feel their are invisible to virus or bullet proof …and they will complain the loudest about reasons why and the services given free if they get sick..,.it’s always Someone Else’s fault – darn that Someone!
We are lucky to be close to a regional grocery store chain that deals with local farmers in the state, so knock on wood we’ve been able to get fruits and veggies. The stores only have one exit open with a guard and store manager counting – one in and one out and no more than 5-10 at a time in many stores. In most places now only 1-2 can come in as a group – not the whole family with kids. You have to wait in line on red X’s on the sidewalk if you want to go inside. Now we do curbside pick up – and it is such a challenge to secure a slot.
Life certainly is different now.
Smile when you can and find some fun. (Molly says snacking around the corner and trying to dig a hole before anyone notices is such a giggle…for her.)
