BON CHEW & COWCOW

to a new epawsode of Angel Sammys and Teddys Pawetaton in pigtures….look what they found for this week…

..ha! our crib?

Oh da joy to buy an old house,

you get a home, history and even a mouse.

And you have dreams as big as a cloud

and everything you did makes you mighty proud.

But in the middle of exhaustion and being on da rocks

you notice there is something what the whole thing blocks.

It is not the man with the duct tape renovation,

it’s another thing what leads to frustration…

Even with spending a  fortune and work till you crack

all what you get is an ole shack.

But it has character and a story and da accumulated amount

is written in red on your bank account.

…. that counts not fur us, right da phenny? …. naaah … da crib is from 1905 so quasi brandnew…

HAVE A PAWETIC THURSDAY ALL

  1. Oh, MY!! Your crib is two years older than ours, BOL!
Our rickety old den was built in 1907…an antique…filled with now rather antique peeps…and yes, we even have a mouse…sometimes…and the fix ups do make the bank all red…haha!
And of course it seems something breaks or dies every month…sheesh!

BOL – this one came from the hearts!!! Yes, such places are pure labour of love… and bottomless money pits! But worth it, right? Hugs and wag,s YAM-aunty xxx

  3. Er, I’m thinking that the voice of experience is reverberating through your wonderful poem today…
    Toodle pip!
    Bertie.

  4. Oh you guys did a brilliant job with the photo this week……! What a great poem and since your Dad is the KING OF DIY, he knows all about working around a place that needs patching, repairing, rebuilding, reworking, repainting, rewallpapering (gosh that’s a long list!). Your house is in WAY better shape than this picture that’s for sure – thanks to “Mr. Fixit” (your Dad!).

Hugs and thanks for playing poetry with us!
    Teddy

  5. WE love this week’s pawem. Well done!

Last time #1 was at Leclerc, they had plenty of Magnum Bars.

    Woofs,

  6. 1905! Your crib is charming, Boys.

  7. Das Phenny and Nelly!!
Bravo Bravo x 87 to your staff for such a great poem. We remain amazed and delight by your weekly poetry and especially since sometimes I struggle to write one in English so I know I could never ever in 87 years write one in French or any other language.
You made us giggle and we love your photos
    Hugs cecilia and bryan

  8. We love your poem today. That sure is an old house you live in.

  9. Kismet says:

A brand new house for you! Built by your dad as a DIY project.

  10. Love your poem. The old homes have character and are the bestest!

  11. lapaylor says:

oh yes, 1905 is new! Why, we were BORN in the 1900’s LOL. SO last century!

  12. Lavinia Ross says:

We used to call our last house “The Mouse Hotel”. 🙂

  13. While a house from 1905 is ancient in the US, I’m thinking maybe not that old in Europe? In any case, I enjoyed your poem.

  14. Brian says:

That was a good one boys but don’t spend all that money!

  15. Wow 1905? Ours is 1961 and considered “old” for this area. Plus the homeowner’s insurance is higher because of it’s age.

  16. I would LOVE to see you boys and your family in a house like that one. You could DIY to your hearts’ content and still always have more DIY to do!

    Love ad licks,
    Cupcake

  17. BOL!! Another great poem today boyz!

  18. Bella, Roxy and says:

You have summed up perfectly what it’s like to renovate an ‘old place with character.’

  19. Memories of Eric and Flynn says:

This is a great poem from you!

  20. Marsha Gay says:

That is like a Tom Waits lyric, and that is a compliment.

  21. There is something to be said for the character (and building quality) of an older home. Ahh, they just don’t make ’em like they used to, do they?

  22. I need a cabin like that to hid out in.

  23. M. K. Clinton says:

Wow! I can’t believe your house was built in 1905. That is so cool. Do you know its history?

  24. Jan K says:

Haha, we can relate to that one!!! Old houses never run out of projects, but we run out of money, don’t we?? 🙂

  25. Mew mew mew what a grate poe-em THE Phenny an Neilson!! 1905 iss quasi mew??? Yore heelareuss!
