look what the thermometer says…

and the tailmometer is down too….

…only 43 days till christmas! …and it starts to look like that…

…at least in the workshop of the uncle of the mama….

… where he worked like a slave to be ready for visiting the christmas markets of bavaria…

… he even sawed his mouth with a bench saw (yes, all sawmill jokes are told and he enjoyed it …not)

…his highlight for this year are snails…

… and they come in all variations and colors….

…and we as natural born french pups say: TASTY!

…wait we still have one joke…. what do you call a saw mill what’s just ok?… a saw-tisfactory….

  4. Memories of Eric and Flynn says:

Your mama’s uncle’s wood workings are beautiful. I like the snail in the little wooden house with the other one climbing up the outside. They are very realistic.

  5. The uncle’s workshop looks like oodles of fun and what beauties he makes!

  6. Keep warm dear Weims! There is a serious number of decorations appearing in your crib, rather wonderful ones too.

  7. You have in Southern France as cold as we have here, near Siberia. Any snowflakes? I hope not, or the mama has to buy 8 tiny boots.
I love those birds, snails, mushrooms and everything in the pics. They are so well done, it must take time to make them.

  8. The mama’s uncle is very good with his art. Those are beautiful pieces. I love the snails and toadstools! The Christmas trees and birds! All beautiful!

  9. My GBGV Life says:

It is -15 Celsius here this morning. No need for caffeine, just put a paw outside and you will wake up! For us it is still too early for Christmas decorations.

  10. Oh Boyz………your Great Uncle has most talented paws!!!

Oh yes, the nip has arrived – last night it got to minus 4’C here!!! Now, in the middle of the day, it has reached a whole 8’C. Sigh….. I too am most impressed with Uncle’s find handy work and hope that he does very well at the market! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  14. lapaylor says:

well, it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! We woke up to see our 7th snow since October started…. those snails are very cute! You are so punny!

  15. The thermometer is weird, because we have thermometers that have F on one side and C on the other side. That one seems to have C on both sides! It was 10 (F!) here this morning and that is just too darn cold for November!

  16. Kismet says:

Am I supposed to say something sawtastic?

  17. We just want it to STOP RAINING!!!!

  23. Wow, the uncle is quite talented! Snowy and very cold here, too, so our tailometers would be down too if we had tails.

  24. The uncle of the mama does beautiful work. Have you had a chance to chew on any of it yet? Keep those tails tucked; gotta protect those impawtent parts, te, he. XOX Lucy and Xena

  25. M. K. Clinton says:

Bahahaha! Good one dudes. Does your mom’s uncle ship across the ocean? My brother would love a snail.

  31. Brrr. Winter is here, too. (and my palms who complained about putting on their coats Sunday are now reluctant to take them off – but they need some sun and it’s warming up and ready to rain before the next front.) It’s a bit roller coaster weather season for the next few weeks until the grim, grey, and cold take over.
Nothing is more beautiful than hand crafted presents. Those snails are fabulous. (Bob up on a high mantle hopes people remember it woodn’t be wise to leave those near dog grabs…He’s never forgiven The German from nibbling the claw foot of a very old antique chair…)
Stay warm and have a happy, not in trouble, day!

  32. We had a 60 degree F shift from the weekend to Monday. Brr. Today we are back to 60F but it’s windy. Weird weather. Your uncle is quite the woodcrafter. Those snails are incredible-I’d invite them into my garden!

  33. I think those creations are gorgeous!!! Your Uncle is so talented! Here it’s as “cold as a witch’s tit in a brass bra” or so they say!
