here we are with our journey to germany …

…this time we used a new way, because we came from normandy…

…apart from the rotten weather, the area is just beautiful…

…. a lot of bridges and you can see rivers and forests and a lot of good things…

…the only thing what totally sucks are the 87 toll thingies what really killed  our  nerves…

…specially when dou drive in such a pay box and then they close the gate while you drive in… then 87 or more cars have to drive backwards to find another gate…

…but somewhere at night we came to the border, where we saw not one soul…

…and much much  later (3am) we came to da forest lodge of our grandparents where we landed in our bed like stoned stones… we could not even  see that the staff bivouacked on the floor, because none of us moved , so the staff had to find another place to sleep…

…but at least we allowed the mama to hold our still  heavy heads da next morning …

…and althought we were greeted by golden sunshine, we decided to take this day off …

…a weimaraner has to set it’s priorities, right?

…that’s important to recharge da batteries, da next day we were on da road again and because Karma is a beach…

….this day was the rainiest one of da whole week….and we felt like seals…

  2. Can only say that the skies were stupendous!

  3. You all are always having an adventure – a wet one and a tiring one – but still an ADVENTURE!!!!

    Hugs, Teddy

Adventures and days of rest are what make the life tick. If only the weather gods understood better our travel plans!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx (who thanks you for all the lovely photos of bridges…I likes me a bridge…)

  5. Zoolatry says:

Grey skies, nothin’ but grey skies … oh where oh where can our sunshine be ……….. well, grey is your color.

  6. OMDs Da Twines what amazingly beautifully engineered bridges!!
Boyz those clouds look like you could touch their fluffiness.
Geez do I hear you on the rain. We went nearly 5 weeks w/o a drop now it rains every other day…butt at least we aren’t traveling on new highways and byways like you and the staff.
    Hugs Cecilia

  7. Twinies…not twines BOL

  8. Brian Frum says:

Two bad you had so much rain and too many tolls!!!

  9. My GBGV Life says:

We hate tolls, and are not going to travel to Illinois much anymore because of it. Tolls and rain would really be a bad thing!

  10. Even with all the rain it looks like a lovely trip. Beautiful photos. Looks like you enjoyed your rest.

  11. Too bad the weather didn’t cooperate on your travel days. You boys sure looked tired when you landed at your grandparents house.

  12. When you are tired, you sure zonk out!

  13. I’ve heard of jet lag but not car lag though suspect a long ride is exhausting. Hopefully the rain got it out of it’s system after that first day. 🤞🏼

  14. Lavinia Ross says:

Those were some really beautiful wild skies!

Nothing like rest after a long trip!

  15. It is hard getting your sleep cycle to match up with the rain cycle.

  16. It figures that your day off from driving would be the sunny one and then the rains would come back.

  17. Wait, you drove all that way and spent only one night at the forest lodge of your grandpawrents? Is it because it is a magical place where the peeps become the dogs sleeping on the floor? Did you go home? We can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow.

  18. Yup, here it is sunny and nice when the petcretary has to work, then its pouring rain, roaring winds and cold on her days off…go figure!

Loved seeing all those Weimie toesies:)

Bridges and toll gates. We have the bridges but not the tool gates here in South Australia. In other states particularly Victoria there are tolls but not here. We have farmers having to leave the land because drought is affecting everything, so we could do with some of your rain. After everything I think you deserved a day off. Nice of the rain to wait for you..

  20. You and Neilson look well-rested however the mama could use anther 40 winks.

  21. What a journey! We are glad it finally cleared up when you got there!

I think your bad weather luck wasn’t so bad. The sky looks like it’s from Harry Potter – just how it looked around here when Mom’s car floated away. So if you didn’t float your car like a sailboat, I’ll call it a good day!

    Love and licks,

  23. Mee-yow wow those cloudss look sorta scarey! A lot scarey! An you both sure were ‘dog’ tired to sleep on THE couchess….Aunty Katty an Mistur Mark are so guud to you both! Butt then wee are pampurred 4 leggedss rite Phenny an Neilson…..

  26. KB says:

Oh no! It rained on the day that you got moving again? Bad bad luck. I did love the pretty and dramatic clouds on the day that you traveled.

  27. The Swiss Cats says:

That’s a lot of rain for an adventure ! No doubt you were exhausted ! Purrs

  28. Rain, you either get a bazillion buckets more that you need when you don’t want it or not a drop of it when you do need it! You and the mama look comfy but exhausted! That was quite the trip!

  29. Jan K says:

Well, those kind of scary looking clouds turned into nasty rain! That is no fun to travel in. No wonder you two look so exhausted!

  30. DailyMusings says:

Those are some clouds! looks like a long trip and total exhaustion!

  31. Kismet says:

You could make a lot of money by having an express line to pay toll-of course the toll would be more.

  32. M. K. Clinton says:

What a great place to recharge your batteries! I love your paw pads. XXOO Driving in the rain is no fun.

  33. Chaplin: “Those feet! They remind me of Dennis! I don’t suppose you would be up for a little bit of Dennis-style cross-species snuggling?”
Lulu: “I’ll snuggle with you if you want.”
Chaplin: “You keep those crazy long furs away from me! Are you trying to suffocate me?!”

  34. Benji says:

Wow, a real trip! We went on a little trip this week and will go on a much bigger one next year!
