…we are back… after a longer break…. and we missed ya… a lot!… and what’s better than to share a DIY adventure as da furst post?

…so da grandparents came and it looked like a military expedition because da whole crib was full with stuff…

…and as furst the mama discovered the new lamp for da kitchen she needed URGENTLY…

…and da dad tried to please her with connecting that lamp thingy with da ceiling….

…we can discuss the fact how useful it is to climb on a glass table and to wear espandrillos while climbing on furnitures…

…but fortunately both, da table and da espandrillos survived…

…not to mention the wild poking in da wire area because there was something loose apart from da screw in da head of someonewhowantstostayanonymous…

… and if da wire is gone you can blame it finally on da lamp…

…what was faulty made by da factory…

…and what needed modification by our dad with da brutestest force immediately….

….off with ya, ya ole sh*t!

…and off with ya too, because you are useless and at da wrong place!

…dear lord jeesuz, please make an end of that, because we are nearly 22 minutes over our normal lunchtime….

….22 minutes? that’s tooo much, that knocks me out….

… butt da dad knew no mercy… and finally we also can be sceptical about the fact that a lamp has to be switched on while you work with da wires…

… and why da rest of da furmily suddenly had a security distance around the construction area…

…and believe it or not after 87 hours, we really saw the light… and you can switch it on and off and the lamp ist still on the ceiling … till today…

…thanks baby jeesuz for that miracle! …. yeah…thanks….  when is lunch?

We did see a “lit up dog” (photo #12 mebbe?) … thought perhaps you could’ve hung
him from the ceiling … one less to feed and take out on poop walks.

  3. What could be better than to return with a Monday DIY post? A successful project too. Awesome!
    Welcome back.

OMD I didn’t breathe an inch of air during that read… phew… but wait! The dad was allowed to put his paws on the table but you are not??? What’s with that??? Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  6. Memories of Eric and Flynn says:

Phew! I was waiting for the big flash and to see your dad’s hair standing on end.

  7. Yay for the Dad and welcome back… you were missed. That’s a very cool light! So happy that no blood was shed and the Dad balanced well on the table. Must have been that the espadrilles were magic.

  8. That is awesome! Sure glad no shocking experiences!!

  9. We’re so glad to hear your dad’s DIY project was a success even if you boys had to wait for your lunch.

  10. lapaylor says:

the daddy made a bad example for the pups to climb up on the table with their shoes on. But good to have the light. Light is a good thing, keep shining your lights!

  11. Since my dad is a former electrician, I learned early in life, stay away from the wires. Your dad seems most knowledgeable. Kudos to him for the new installation and for not getting shocked. ⚡️

  12. Edie Chase says:

Well, that was shocking, the fact that no one was electrocuted. It’s nice to see you back. I hope you had a good vacation.

  13. Good to have you back! Where else do we learn DIY than with the weims and their staff!

  14. Brian says:

I’m glad you two boys finally saw the light!

  15. Well boyz you were missed. I’m so glad you are home.
Looks as if your Dad had a ton of supervision for the DIY project and many hands to catch him if need be. Brute force is sometimes what it takes to whip a project into shape.
    Hugs Cecilia

I’m shocked that you didn’t have to join the “Sparks on Monday” blog hop.

  17. Anonymous says:

Well–let there be light wasn’t instant, but then–what did I expect. Haha Happy Day!

  18. Cupcake says:

That lamp is absolutely fabulous, P! Plus saying curses during the construction is an important part of the process ensuring success. Well done! And a smart move for the spectators to give the project wide margins for safety!

Love and licks and welcome back,

  19. Wow!! We are happy to hear there was no injury during this DIY..BUT we can’t beieve they were late feeding you your lunch!

  20. My GBGV Life says:

Hope you got lunch! My mom ordered a lot of light fixtures, but she knows she can’t put them up herself. We are hiring someone to come and do it right the first time so Mom doesn’t get electrocuted or burn the house down. Good luck with your new lighting.

  21. Your dad is jack of all trades! My mom wants a ceiling fan in the kitchen. Is your dad for hire?!

  22. Bella, Roxy and says:

Your lunch was late??!! Well, we’re glad there wasn’t a DIY disaster this time.

  23. Jan K says:

A successful DIY – yay! We think that might have been worth having a late lunch for! 🙂

  24. Glad to have you back. We have to have a light fixture put in. Daddy insists he can put it in. Mommy says no. I think this convinced her to hire an electrician.

  25. KB says:

We missed your hilarious DIY projects!!!

  26. The OP Pack says:

So did you get that lunch yet? We can’t believe your Dad would stand on a glass table and wear espadrilles doing that!!! Thank dogness all ended well.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  27. OMD, that is PAWSOME!!!! And if it makes your Pops feel any betters, Gpa does the same thingie ~ doesn’t turn off the power to the light fixture while he’s working on it! “I know what I’m doing……” yeah, rights! Ma always waits for the zzzzzzzzzap noise. so far it hasn’t happened, butts……
