..he jumped into da gooseberry bush and now he has a triangle in his according to da dog show judge well attached ear…
can I get a collective eggs-pression of sympathy please?
the challenge with a floppy eared pup is da shaking, the whole crib looked like a shooting party location immediately. Butt we made it and the poor chap is plastered now. Sadly ear-things are very gory and we hope we can stop the bleeding and the vetericyn will do the trick so he hasn’t to see you-know-who whose name starts with a V….
…because to jump into a gooseberry bush is not as impressing as fighting with a tiger, the wounded warrior disappeared in the bed of the mama to sleep off the pains and da shame…
… WT…woof… I was brave anyway and I showed that gooseberry thing who is boss in da house…
…and I bet the girls will like my fringed ear when I present them a wild story about it, right?

Gosh Phenny, what on earth possessed you to hop into a gooseberry bush in the first place? Chasing a butterfly? Sorry your ear turned into a war zone but let’s hope the bandage does the trick and keeps it safe so it will heal quickly and no trip to the YOU KNOW WHAT for you. I’m sure all the girls in your neighborhood will feel sorry for the wounded warrior!

Oh no, P! Your gorgeous well-attached ear! I think you were very brave fighting it out with the gooseberry bush. Maybe tell the girls you had a battle with a goose. Mom says they can peck a doggy’s face off… Meanwhile, good luck to the mama cleaning up the crime scene.

Bailie said she had a piece ripped out of her ear three years ago, and it looked like a mass murder scene. She had surgery to put it back together, but it was a super bloody mess, at home, in the car, at the vet. It is one way to get the vet to see you right away! Hope your ear is better soon.

Poor Phenny. Roxy had a cut ear once and had to have her ear bound to her head….but it still kept bleeding. Finally the dreaded vet used some kind of tissue glue on the cut, and that did the trick!

Oh, my mischief seems to figure in quite a lot of your stories, doesn’t it? 🙂 Last time I was in France, one of my s-i-l’s dogs had a cut on his ear and it kept dropping drips of blood on the floor. When it was finally stopped, one of the other dogs would lick it…and we were back to cleaning up those red drips again. Sigh. Fortunately, the floor was tile, so cleaning up was easy and nothing got stained.
