BON CHEW,

I’m back from germany…. do you remember me? I’m Da Phenny…

… we will be back on board monday, after we have sorted the chaos what was waiting for us….butt before I torture you all with 87k photos, I have a mission today…. and it is a sad one….

The mama of Molly The Wally informed us that Molly had to go over the Rainbow Bridge. That’s what we heard from her mom who is so sad and heartbroken:

It happened very quickly and we were all with her. She had a mini seizure last month on a Monday and then another. I took her to the vet and all her bloods etc came back OK. However then the vet insisted doing an Xray and it showed three tumours on her spleen one quite large. These were nothing to do with the mini seizures and we had no idea they were there and she never showed discomfort or pain. We took her home and within ten minutes we were back at the vets as she was showing signs of stress. It would appear one had burst and we had to put her down quickly before she started to show signs of distress.

Our tears ran over our faces and we are so sorry for Molly and her furmily…. She was one of the first bloggers we met and now after she is gone it is like a part of us went with her… once Ultravox said dancing with tears in your eyes is hard… but to write while in tears is nearly impossible …. words are hard to find while our heart screams and while  our tears will  wash all words away…  Mollys furmily probably feels this way and so the mama offered to inform all Blogvillers over the POTP page and we also will write something on our blog today…

We say GOOD BYE to a wonderful friend

…. Dear Molly, for us Downton Abbey  will be Dogton Abbey forever and it is YOUR   show  for all eternity…

…and I’m sure together with your beloved Pip you will rock the heavenly stages and I bet all our fur angels we miss so much will love your show…. and they will love you… like we do. Forever …

Hugs to Molly’s family… we wish there would be a way to be there in the furs  for a friend in such moments…. but that’s sadly rarely possible… so we hope that the power of friendship  can help to feel not alone and lost when we lost someone we loved so much…

There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love.

It is so good to have you back with us DP and you were definitely missed… but what sad news you bring us. It took a few moments for me to realise that I had actually ‘met’ Molly right at the start of my blogging life, but somehow the connection didn’t stick. This doesn’t make the news any less hard to read. The Rainbow residents will be in for a treat having Molly as company now. Sending condolence to her furmily, but also to you who called her furiend. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  4. How very sad to lose such a dear friend, and so suddenly.

Welcome back, Da Phenny. We look forward to your stories and pictures.

    Woofs,
    Tommy

  5. Oh, dear.
So very sad to loose a good friend unexpectedly. Somehow we did not really know this wonderful pup…but none the less we feel bad for her family and wish them our condolences.

You will have much to woof to us about, Phenny, oops, I meant wuff. Take some time to relax from your journey…

That is such a familiar scenario. When my cat Louie the ginger cat died from lymphoma, he gave me no clue he was unwell till his last day, after a lymph gland by his spine ruptured, poisoning his system with infection. He was eating, acting normal the day before, then he was gone.

I even made a practice of feeling him all over when I pet him for signs of lumps or sore spots because I realized cat are likely to hide illness or injuries, but the swollen lymph glands were in places the veterinarian told me I couldn’t possibly feel them. (I felt terrible that I missed he was sick….)

So sad reading that your friend passed unexpectedly like Louie. It is a shock, and an unfortunate fact of life for many people with animal companions that their fur friends oftentimes show no observable symptoms of illness till it is too late to treat them, save them from the illness.

  10. Phenny I’m happy you’re home but sad you have lost one of your dearest friends. We did not know Molly but it’s obvious to us as we visit blogs this morning that she was loved by EVERYONE who knew her and this is a most sad farewell indeed. She sounds like a truly wonderful spirit and I know she’s a rock star at the Bridge now who will live on in everyone’s hearts. We DO remember Dogton Abbey and how absolutely fabulous that was – THAT and all the other memories will live on forever.

    Hugs, Teddy
