BON CHEW,
guess who came to my crib? The post(wo)man, the post(wo)man oh yes!

and there was a big envelope what came from far away… From NIA from turkey...
…and look what was inside!

two
mini hats a wonderful handmade bag , a supernice letter aaand…

a cooking book!!!!

The mama is a fan of the turkish kitchen… there is so much to discover apart from doner kebap…. it is as varied as the country, you can have fish and meat… veggies and sweet things… and there are a lot of meals you can prepare in advance for guests and friends and if you have not 10 thumbs like the mama you can create a firework of colors and food on your table….

…the book is a gem and it is written so well… with stories and notices about the family of the author that is feels as if the reader is a part of the family ….

… and when we make some of the recipes it will be the same… a feeling as if we cook for friends and family…

MANY THANKS !!! … the gift from turkey brought a lot of good memories back… and we hope once we can go back to a land full of history… with friendly people, fabulous food and the art to enjoy life…. you will come as a stranger , and after having a tea or two and you will leave as a friend…
Ne mutlu Türküm diyene…
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY ALL
btw:
Yesterday I saw the first snow of my life…. and I don’t like it….

What a wonderful package of goodies from your friend Nia. We know little about Turkey other than we have it for Thanksgiving dinner. HAHAHA Seriously, what beautiful gifts you got – hopefully your Mom will make some Turkish treats you can sample soon. As for snow – all I know is that it’s awfully cold on my FEETS!!!!
Hugs, Teddy
What a nice gift! My assistant loves Turkish food, too. I bet your mama will make some yummy stuff with that book.
The hats will warm her noggin and the recipes will warm her belly
What? How could you not like snow? I think you need a lot more of it to really find the fun.
Good thing you got those cool hats. It will keep your ears warm with that snow. Then when you got outside in the snow you can come in to a nice warm your body and soul food. WHat a perfect timed gift.
Blessings,
Buddy
What a special delivery. I can’t wait to see what mom makes.
Such a nice bunch of goodies! We don’t care for snow either Phenny!
Great goodies! The cook book will be fun. The snow… it’s good for a bit then I want it gone.
Sounds like a wonderful gift! What a thoughtful friend!!
Shadow and Ducky say “send the snow to us! We love it!”
I will do that…. one box or two?
As much as you want…we will be grateful for it.
You need more snow before you can decide you don’t like it, Phenny. It truly is very fun stuffs to play in! What beautiful and very thoughtful gifts!
We are getting 4 inches of snow right now. What you got was just a dusting. Can’t wait to see the results of the mama and the cookbook! Yay!
I look forward to seeing the dishes you all prepare – what a beautiful gift. Something we all have in common is food and what fun to share the different meals we like to eat with each other – like family does. We are all family. You got thunder, lightning, snow, and we got freezings and cold here. Still Winter! Love and Hugs to you all there today!
Your peeps got a DIY cooking manual? Get ready with the fire extinguisher and then the can opener.
Phenny you get the best stuff at your crib!!! My Mom wishes she lived by you so she could cook with your Mama! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
What a lovely gift. We can’t wait to hear about you and your pawrents making some of those recipes. We think snow is the most fun to play in. Maybe if you got more you would like it better.
Oh Da Phenny what a wonderful package from Nia. Mom likes the mini hat and so do I it matches my furs.
Your first snow. Yikes I hope you did have frosty paws

What a lovely gift that brings not just physical items, but wonderful memories too!
I don’t like the snow either, Da Phenny. ~Lucy
Turkish cuisine is delicious!
We had about 20-25cm of snow here. I love it! I played and played and played!
Woofs,
Tommy
WHAT????? You don’t like the snow????? How can that be, Phenny – snow is magnificent!!!
Oh well, at least we can tell you that you don’t have to cook us food from Turkey to make us your friends – we will always be your friends. But we are most open to having some food too:)
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Oh brother – trust me on this snow thing. It’s cold and miserable. I hate the way it touches my pot belly – shivers to mergatroid! Stay safe and warm. Maybe extra turkish food would help. XOXO – Bacon
A wonderful, thoughtful gift. We hope da Maman reads the instructions of the recipes CAREFULLY! Look forward to some ‘cooking around the world’ Turkish dishes.
What a wonderful package ! Those are great and thoughtful gifts. Purrs
That bit of snow isn’t even touching your belly, P. If it touches your belly, THEN you have a problem. The mama will have to carry you.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Wowee….the post lady. A cookbook from Turkey how lovely. How about some Turkish snacks for SAW this month,
Jean
We can’t wait to see what you might prepare from the special cook book.
hugs
Hazel & Mabel
What a super nice present! We can’t wait to see what your Mama makes.
The Florida Furkids
Phenny, I love the way you are studying that new cookbook – how lovely it sounds with all the family notes and stories – meals will seem extra warming with those.
Snow. That looks like sky dandruff. Molly agrees that it’s pawsome cold – and not even deep enough to dig giant holes in – no fun if you can’t make that color stuff fly by digger feet.
Stay warm and wipe your paws
You always receive the nicest gifts! I can’t wait to see what you cook.
Phenny needs a sweater made from real fur of a Newfoundland dog to keep warm during outings in the snow. Bailey can’t get enough of the white stuff even if her peeps grumble about the snow shovelling (banks are now 8 feet high). Nice to receive packages from afar.
What a wonderful friend and a very special gift!!
xoxo,
Jakey, Arty & Rosy
PeeEss..That snow stuff looks COLD!
I can only imagine what good Turkish food must taste like. How wonderful you have experienced it first hand and what a thoughtful package.
Oh my! what a FABulous pressie package!!!! That is so thoughtful!!!! I can’t waits to see your Moms creations from those amazin’ sounding recipes!
SNOW??! YAY! Waits…you don’t likes it??! Wells, maybe cause there just wasn’t enough of it to play in. If you gets a few inches, maybe you can really have some fun!
(I’m just guessing…I haven’t seen snow since I was born. It doesn’t snow here. I dream of it though…)
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
What a terrific gift you received from your friend, Nia! The cookbook sounds very good, but we especially love to see you and your parents doing things together! We love how you all hang out or cook dinner together! You need a bit more snow to decide if you like it Phenny! Give it a try…we think you will like it!
OMG, Phenny!!!! I now understand the old saying that “A gentlewoman does not go out without her reticule”. It’s pure wisdom.
OMG, I’m at the wrong place! This comment belongs to another entry of yours!
Maybe there’s a bbq cake recipe in the book. Remember the cheese cake mommy made.
Those are wonderful gifts from Turkey, Phenny!
MeOW Phenny, your furst snow? Cool. We don’t like it either. Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
Oh, what a special box to open! Love the people we met in Istanbul, Turkey. We enjoyed their friendship and tasty food. I feel so sad for their oppression and pray they find their freedom again soon.
How nice to get those presents from Turkey! Have fun cooking a la turkey!
I feel the same way about snow…well I did the first time it happened here, but now, well, I had to get over it…literally BOL!
