because we had 2.5 minutes of sun, we drove to the park of La Cheze…
….the wind was still cold but we had no rain for some minutes…
…and so I meandered around that lake… till..
…I met my buddy Humphrey…
…Humphrey is from UK but he moved to Brittany some months ago…
…he is 12, a black Labrador and a complete male too, but we go well along…
…we just can not run around like crazy this time because Humphrey has a sore shoulder, so we have to be a little careful…
…butt suddenly something scary happened… Humphrey jumped in the lake!!!! aaaaah Lab over board… SOS MAY DAY HELP!
…heck dude, you scared the recycled food out of moi!
…no worries buddy, I’ll tell y a secret…I CAN SWIM!…and I love it! …wanna try it too?
…ummmmmm… naaah… I think we wait a while…
…and oh da heck it starts to rain…. full speed ahead back to the car before we get wet….

Gosh Phenny what a GREAT friend Humphrey is! He’s also very brave to hop in the water when it’s COLD out! I guess that tennis ball was too hard to resist. It makes me happy to know that you have a super friend to meet in the park on your walks. I think it was smart of you not to hop in that water though!

Humphry seems like a great guy to play with. Remember I did not like the water or to swim but my pal Bert convinced me it would be great, and he was right. AND swimmin’ is great for sore bodies, well at least that is what momma says.

I had to laugh when Humphrey jumped in the water: “THAT IS A LAB” Wilma would do that given the chance. We keep her off the ice just incase there is a little trickle of water she would try to dig through the ice. LOL

Phenny, labs love to swim, almost as much as schnauzers love to eat, so it isn’t strange if you don’t have the same urges.You can run on the land while Humphrey swims in the water, right?

Milo here, I’ve been making friends. Mama says Cole did not like to jump in water but I haven’t seen big water. I think I might like it! Lot’s of hair to keep me warm.
Humphrey is a very nice friend for you, Phenny. We hear labs LOVE the water. We have never tried it – it makes us think too much of baths!!!

You need to have some blow up floaties tied to your arms, and you’ll swim like a champ and make Humphrey jealous. Or maybe have to rescue you….

Bentley and Pierre are besties although they are two completely different speeds except when they are chasing each other. BOL!
Some of our friends go overboard in the river…..way out…chasing a ball. We only go in up to the tops of our SHORT legs. Sometimes our friends go in to get away from us.
Swimming can be good therapy for a sore shoulder, but GAH! It can be scary when a buddy is just hanging out and then jumps in the lake like a nut. Once I almost stepped in a puddle.
