BON CHEW,

guess what? we had a new DIY disaster… and guess what what? no one landed in ER and nothing landed in the trashcan… that is a kind of a world record…

…it started with the mama who had the idea that she needs a clothes rack for the hallway …URGENTLY! and IMMEOWDIATELY!

…so my dad bought a white board at the DIY cowboy store and with some leftovers from  failed DIY-disasters of the past , he tinkered something together what looks like a clothes rack with some hooks &  shelves for shoes…

I tried to be nice with assisting my dad, butt he was ungratefull like always …

…butt nevertheless I had a ball… or balls and I wondered a little while he screamed like an air raid siren… any ideas? No? me neither… so whatever…

…after 87 hours and 87 curses we actually got something what looks a little like  a clothes rack… a miracle if you ask me…

…and it is also usable and that is more than a miracle… butt just because I was there to help my dad…

…and  just because I worked my paws off and was INDAWAY the whole time…

…butt black ingratitude, the dad is your name! …and that’s what I think about that ungrateful staff…

HAVE A FABULOUS FURRYDAY ALL

  1. Well since it DOES look like a successful coat rack project your Dad did I’d say it’s not a DIY disaster but a DIY SUCCESS!!!! You might have accidentally somewhat crushed the “family jewels” (!!) but I’m sure he forgave you for being so anxious to help but stepping on his – well – you know, but all’s fair in love and DIY right?

    Hugs, Teddy

  2. That’s the best DIY project I have ever seen at your house, P. I think you should help your dad that exact same way every time. Maybe screaming like a girl is a good thing.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

I think Dad deserves a big “Hooray!” It is a very clever use of an otherwise pointless empty space, and the end result (as you noted, Phenny…) even looks good!

  4. Shock! Horror! A DIY project that went well and worked? No wonder Phenny wanted to try to sabotage it 😀

  5. Emmadog says:

It looks nice and it looks like a nice idea for that spot.

  6. drradha says:

wow! Looks like a splendid rack! Why on earth would you ‘help’ your dad out when he can churn out wonders like this! 😉

  10. Madi and Mom says:

  12. Kismet says:

Do your leftover supplies from previous DIY projects include bandages, crutches and pain relievers or did you use them all up already?

  13. Woo-hoo! Congrats on the DIY success. Pawrents are always so ungrateful with 4 legged help. What’s up with that?

  14. Marv says:

    Dear Phenny,
I think your dad deserves a big hooray that he did not cut off a finger…or bash one with a hammer…(I think my Mommy would have). My Mommy spent the evening after work cleaning the carpet on the stairs. Some kitty ate their breakfast to fast and upchucked down the stairs!
Shed made the HBO Word noises and did not appreciate my help as she crawled up the steps! I thought did a magnificent job at ensuring there was something on 8 of the 14 steps!!!

  15. Well Phenny, rest assured it is quite clear to the world at large that the success of the coat rack project is entirely due to the considerable effort put in by your good self.
    Toodle pip!

  16. Halfway into reading your post, I had to wait a full 5 minutes for mom to stop laughing like a hyena to continue reading to the end, Phenny. That is a wonderful coat rack and I bet your mama is very happy with it! A job well done!

  17. Dolly the Doxie says:

Success! Not technically DIY but my mom decided out of the blue that she needed a new storage cupboard on the back porch to replace the no longer functional IKEA one. Two sore backs and $400 later her and Dad got the humongous thing up 4 flights of stairs. She says it was worth it. Love Dolly

  48. I was sure you were going to say that the whole thing fell down and bumped your dad in the head (glad it didn’t). This is what would happen if my dad tried to build a shelf – it would surely collapse with all the stuff on it. LOL.
