since it was Furryday the 13th, a lot of mischief happened here…

…and efurrything started with the giant walnut tree…

…furst the mama confused a walnut…

…with a Phenny nut on furryday while she gathered the nuts in twilight in the early morning. That was a sign …butt not for good luck, it was more the guarantor for sh*tty adventures…

… on saturday in the morning  my daddy cut two huge pine trees off  and the mama howled her woo to the sky as she saw the mess…

…and I immediately tried to help her with shredding da branches…

… butt that time the mama had no clue what the word mess really means…

…in the afternoon the tree cutting crew appeared with a Manitou and one of the guys hopped in the bucket of that ride  to cut the walnut tree…. my dad had to stay on the ground, it would be madness to let him jump into the bucket ,  before the bill is paid, right?

…after an hour the 16 meter (52ft) tree looked like a statement finger, we hope the neighbor is happy and we can live in peace together now … and my garden looks like a jungle…

I totally like that…

…it is the perfect playground for a Weimaraner…

…hehe you can’t see me, because I can’t see you… or vice versa…

…the mama worked like a berserk  on sunday and she placed a giant pile in my backyard…

and she also made some weim-ways into the jungle so I can be better indaway…

…sadly the pile with the debranched and deleaved wood looks small in contrast to the jungle-pile, butt the mama was totally eggs-hausted anyway…

…she even furgot to prepare lunch, so the staff had just microwaved belgian crepes… the mama said there was so much cream inside that her mouth is glued now and she is no longer able to talk… think my dad will make that creepy crepes now efurryday…

…like the old saying says: THE BEST THINGS  COME IN T(H)REES ….

  1. My Mom always cries when people cut down the trees. Sometimes I think she likes trees better than people! Looks like you had fun in all that mess — good thing you don’t have long fur like me or YOU would be a mess!
    Woof! TINK

    • we are sad too… it was there for such a long time and it grew for so much years… and now we have a broomstick… but a happy neighbor… sigh…

      • Mom wouldn’t like your neighbor very much at all – only a meanie would try to make somebody kill a beautiful old shade tree – and then be happy about it (she didn’t say “meanie”, but I’m not allowed to use the bad word).
        Woof! TINK

      • we are with you… but we have to go along with her… neighbors sadly appear if we like them or not …sigh… in next life the mama will buy her own island, that’s for sure…

      • What does the neighbor have against trees? Who made her the boss?

In case you are wondering, among other things, my Mom called your neighbor a witch – tho’ I’m not sure what Halloween has to do with trees (but maybe I misheard her).

Mom said that SHE doesn’t especially care for manicured lawns – but she’d never try to force a neighbor to dig up her grass and sow wild flowers!!!
        Woof! TINK

      • haahaha love the bridge between halloween and da witch (hey and it rhymes!). the neighbor fears for her house and her car when branches come down from our tree… it happened two times, but the missiles landed at our property… juridical the neighbor is right, the tree is a danger… but like always the tunes make the music and it was overdone to create such a drama… well it maybe was a kind of shakespearesque: much ado about nothing hehe

      • WELL – as a melanoma survivor, cumulative exposure to the sun is a danger for ME (is to all of us, actually – statistically a greater danger to your neighbor than branches – not to mention the negative impact on the environment to prioritize electrical means of cooling when we get rid of trees).

Still, we don’t legislate mandatory *planting* of shade trees, do we?

Tink and Phenny are right – and right in keeping with Halloween. What I think of your neighbor rhymes with WITCH.

Hope you leave that “statement finger” up forever. Let her look at THAT instead.

      • me too… but she has no sense for rhyming poetry I think ;o))) it is sad than we can’t pick our neighbors like we pick our friends… and that’s the bad part of owning a house… you can not close the door to move to a better place… sadly ;o(((

      • Not so easy for a renter to pick up and move either – and your “neighbors” are practically in your lap. I’ve been unusually lucky, however. I’ve had great neighbors for the most part. Wish I could say the same about my landlords. 😦

      • we have good neighbors too, so it isn’t that bad… and we hope we can go along with her too for a while… till she has something new to bug us… ;O))))

      • Give ’em a tree and they take a mile?

  2. Oh what a shame the garden jungle was not allowed to remain. Humans can be such spoilsports.
    Toodle pip!

  3. Ya know Phenny….sometimes trees make better neighbors!! Just sayin…..

  4. Hari OM
OMD Phenny, tell mama I totally ‘get’ what it is to have a troublesome neighbour who see the world so differently from oneself…. sigh… but on the bright side, the pupster got a lot of fun, right?! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  5. Princess Leah says:

Gosh that garden jungle did look like GREAT funs…shame it had to go.
My Mum did the’ howled her woo to the sky’ thingy when the men cutting down the tree in my garden, dropped a big lump on Dad’s bonsai tree!!!!!
    Loves and licky kisses
    Princess Leah xxx

  6. Hate to see majestic trees cut like that — Walnuts won’t forgive either. Mind you, Mum won’t forget your walnut surprise either!

  7. WOW! KING OF THE JUNGLE now too Da Phenny??? That’s a lot of tree debris and hopefully you can have all that hauled away or else you can maybe build a fort back there for a man-cave??

    Hugs, Teddy

  8. Christine says:

    No camp fires

  9. Wow – what a huge undertaking, Phenny! You’re going to have so much fun hiding in your new tree fort!

  10. Emmadog says:

It is yard work season, so I guess your parents want a lot of work! Enjoy the jungle while it lasts!

  11. My boys love the call of the jungle and climbing under cut brush. I think, they think there are things under there! Or places squirrels may have sat, chattering down at them.

  12. Goose says:

Oh dog oh dog I would LOVE to come and romp through your jungle!!!! Need help exploring just give me a bark out.

  13. saymber says:

Why did the trees get chopped Phenny were they not feeling well? We’ve lost a lot of trees in our neighborhood that got sick.

    • it was too tall and some branches where hollowed out, so it was a danger fot the house of the neighbor…like she said

      • saymber says:

I figured there had to be a good reason. A tree we had out back that might have been an apple tree had to be cut out this year too — it got sick and died. Trees are a lot like people! They get sick and need doctors too.

  14. Perhaps you can plant another and Phenny can “water” it? Wait! Maybe that’s not such a good idea. RIP tree.

  15. We can tell you had lots of fun playing in all those branches. We are curious as to why the tree guys left the main trunk standing and didn’t chop that down too.

That is some big tree mess Phenny!

  19. Astro says:

You need to make the neighbor some walnut bread with phenny walnuts
just saying but we do understand the danger of falling branches

    xo Astro

  20. Madi and MOm says:

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh No Da Phenny and we know that walnut trees are hard as rocks so that must have been quite a job to undertake. I’m glad the men in the buckets came to help AND they did not allow your dad in the bucket….
Hugs and thank goodness Friday 13th has passed and there are no more this year
    madi your bfff

  21. Piglove says:

Oh my goodness. Brother, I can’t stop snorting over the misdiagnosis of a walnut. Hilarious I’m sure. And I know your mom had to be singing to the moon upon her discovery of that ‘walnut’. Snorts and rolls with piggy laughter. And the trees – just think of all of the gnomes and fairies living under the bushes and limbs now. If you find one, send me one okay. They would have a hoot in my backyard. XOXO – Bacon

  22. Cupcake says:

Your yard is like a doggie playground, P. Lots of hiding places and spots to explore. Plus when the branches are down, I can sniff them and then I know what it feels like to be up in the trees like a squirrel. So fun!

    Love and licks,

  23. dorysbackyard says:

WOW Phenny, that is some jungle you have! Our Daddy is thinking our Mama cuod use some of those crepes too BOL!
    Jakey, Arty & Rosy

  24. The OP Pack says:

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  28. Lee and Phod says:

Phenny – you sure had a more exciting weekend than us which involved binge watching netflix.

  29. Bella, Roxy and Dui says:

Looks like your dad was doing a typical ‘Man Prune’ of the yard. Is everyone mad at the squirrels?

  30. Jan K says:

When you get off to a start like that, you would’ve thought the day would have nowhere to go but up! But oh, it’s probably a very good thing your Dad did not go up!

  31. Idaho PugRanch says:

Well we sure hope the tree will grow back and be healthy so as not to drop branches on the neighbor.
    Hazel & Mabel

  32. That is a lot of work! We thought fur sure you and your dad would get in the bucket! Are you gonna be able to keep part of your jungle?

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  33. Deziz World says:

  35. M. K. Clinton says:

You and your peeps have more projects than anyone that we know and we ALWAYS love them!

  36. Well, you got a lot of firewood. That is always handy, if you want to roast hot dogs or marshmallows!

  37. Foley Monster, Pocket and River Song says:

I don’t know why you parents spent so much time and effort taking down trees. That is what God invented wind to do. Make sure you pee in the neighbor’s general direction

  38. Johnny says:

OH man that’s such a huge undertaking! Hopefully all will be well now!

  39. Sorry abouts your trees Phenny! on the bright side, lookie at all those chew toys! Can I come overs???
    Ruby ♥

  40. edgar62 says:

Looks like we are having the same neighbour problems with trees – my tree being an almond tree. Goodness you’d think people would be happy with the free fruit, but some people yu just can’t please at all.

  41. That’s a big ole mess, you must have a bizillion trees in your yard, they are always coming down. I’m glad your dad didn’t get hurt.

  42. I don’t climb trees and Kali got all confused when she climbed trees….coming down head first. We don’t like trees anymore so cut away.

  43. MrJackFreckles/Pipo & Angel Minko says:

We have a bazillion walnut trees around here too…but they are not as nice looking as yours (was). We have a huge one in our side yard, and sometimes lots of big branches crash down in storms, but the tree stands…and we are loathe to chop it down, cause it does provide some shade…and lots of yucky wormy nuts for tree rats. Petcretary has gathered up about 12 bushels of them this year…from that one tree alone…and not to mention all the ones in my back woods part of the yard…
If any part of your tree is still alive it will make new shoots to regrow itself…maybe when you have a white muzzle you can then rest in some shade from its boughs:)

Petcretary had a huge bonfire yesterday…to rid us of all the tree logs from this past year…from trees that storms had brought down…they were only sawed into logs after they fell on their own…a nice neighbor helped with a chain saw..cause, well I do think pawppy is scared to use one himself! BOL!!!

Dalton tried to get too close..silly dude…I am older and wiser…at least petcretary saw it in time.
