guess what? on sunday Bashful and me felt howly somehow… so we decided to go to a monastery

…butt furst we walked through a forest…

… there were so much new smells to discover and my nose had an all you can smell party…

….there were peemails written by a fox… it said ring-ding-ding… and wa-papapapa-pow… makes no sense to me…

…then my dad disappeared from the photo, because he stepped in a hole, the only one in that whole forest and then he was huffy, because the mama laughed at him…

…but Bashful had mercy and invited the wounded warrior for a short rest…

… while we pondered if we should call an ambulance or Lassie&Benji…

…fortunately my dad is a mollycoddle trooper, he needed no amputation nor a cast …

…and so we waddled on and followed the arrows to da abbey…

Bashful rolled  much faster than me with my WIA-dad in tow, butt he fortunately waited for me and so…

…we could enter that abbey together…

…dogs are maybe not allowed here, butt we saw no sign so I jumped in too…  and the monks are trappists so they  probably wouldn’t say something ….

…they make a special cheese there and jam and other  things from fruits…

….ooooh da smell efurrywhere…

…and how quiet it was…. of course to talk like a waterfall or like the mama is a no-go there…

then we came to a door what said oratory… that has probably nothing to do with food, butt we checked it anyway…

…there was no cheese nor fruits… wonder why they have such a big security chain there when there is no food?

… we then checked the mailbox, if someone wrote a letter to us…

….and Bashful decided to take a nap under that big stone…

…then we saw the furst signs of spring…

and Bashful enjoyed some flower power…

…yes, yellow is YOUR color buddy…

…and after a potty break we went home… we felt relaxed and clarified after visiting that howly area… think that lasts for a while…and for some sins…

  1. What a wonderful place. Glad there were no serious injuries – seems kind of a tame day out for you 😀

  2. Tink here. We don’t have anything like that where I live, so it was exciting following your adventures – you lucky dog, you. Nice to see Bashful getting out and about too. Thanks for sharing your trip (and your Dad’s har-de-har-har!)
    Woof! TINK

  3. Your descriptions had us laughing so hard. *Ear licks* Noodle

  6. What an adventure Phenny and Bashful. Mom loved the crocuses. We have a couple more months before we’ll be seeing those little beauties. I like to read the newspaper while strolling through Fort Meezer. Some of the news makes my fur stand on end. MOL

    Loves Shoko

  7. Cupcake says:

Sounds like a pretty fun adventure, P. The only thing misssing is a big shopping bag of cheeses and jams. What the heck?? I think you got played, buddy.

what a wonderful trip- such an interesting place and so pretty to walk through

  9. What a beautiful place to visit! I bet it’s very old…….and I bet the stuff they make there is DELICIOUS too. Did you find a monk and do confession while you were there Phenny? Maybe not…..the monk might not have 87 hours to listen to all you’d have to tell him – maybe it’s a GOOD thing that monks don’t hear confession???????

    Hugs, Angel Sam and Teddy

  10. Thanks for taking us to visit the Abby with you.

  11. you have already spring flowers, I saw in the pics sinivuokkoja, the blue ones, and esikkoja, the yellow ones. We have to wait to see them about two months.
You all feel now very howly after vising that place, it is a good thing.

  15. Although I was happy not to see the mat of shame in this post, I’m sure you can come up with a sin or two prior to the next visit. Thanks for taking us along. Except for that dratted hole, it looks like a great place to walk and visit. Did your mom buy any cheese or jam?

  16. Piglove says:

That was quite an adventure and we are sure glad the Dad is okay!

  28. Lee says:

Far into the wilderness where God leads you. I don’t think you the Mama and the Dad have the straightforward simplicity of life to live there. If you could not buy their cheese there where can you buy the cheese. I think they have a gift shop ~ you just went to the wrong door. It shows online a gift shop now go back and gets some jams and cheese.
    Thanks for being a friend

We are glad to hear that trooper Dad is OK. There were so many leaves on that walk that we can see how he would have missed that hole.

Nice place to visit, just don’t let them lock you in – life can be very strict in the monastery.

  38. What another pawsome place to visit and show Bashful. I think the monks should have served you some cheese. It is a beautiful place to explore. ☺

  39. Bella, Roxy and Dui says:

What a great place to explore….but, there should have been cheese.

What an excellent adventure and howley day out. I looked this Abbey up and it is famous in the region for cheese, jam and candies. Perhaps they are too occupied in the main church on a Sunday to get you cheese. Pity really, but still a great day out. Hope the papa foot is better…
