Hell-o,

I’m back. Yesterday the grandpeeps drove home and I was sad the whole day. Fortunately the mama is an eggs-pert for cheering up a sad pup. And because our neighbor brought a big bucket with plums in the afternoon , the mama said she will make a plum crumb cake.

IMG_2128

After the plum crumb cake left the oven, the staff sent two giant pieces to their stomaches immediately….it was still HOT inside, not just lukewarm what can end dangerous enough….

…  crumb  rhymes with dumb…and as eggs-pected,  something inside of the staff started to bubble and then the whole plum crumb cake stuff caused an eruption like that Krakatao volcano…

IMG_2126

That means it was a not so comfy night for the staff AND for me, because I always had to suppress laughter…

Today the mama is in wobbly clowndition and she steers clear of the remaining 87 tons of plums on the counter…

IMG_2127

I think I will sell the recipe of that cake to Dulcolax or to Rexall… and for all that moneeh I will buy a plum tree for the mama… bet she will jump with joy….

HAVE A GOOD MO(A)NDAY ALL and don’t furget to visit the OWLYMPIGS….

Welcome back – plumbs bring back good memories for me. My Grandma used to make the best wild plumb jam! Sweet and sour type taste I love. The crumbles looked good sorry your Ma and Pa had “after shocks!” Love to you all today!

  6. Your Mom is soooo much like my Mom when it comes to “eruptions” that it is unreal!! Hoping she is feeling much better today! DakotasDen

  7. Oh No! Another kitchen disaster! Your poor mama and dad!! Hope they feel better SOON!! It sure looks tasty though! My grandmother’s friend used to make wonderful peach cobbler – and plum cobbler, too – many, many years ago.

I loves plums… but I had a similar effect from the rhubarb pie I made from my daddy’s crops in Edinburgh… good ol ‘clean out, as my gran would say… BOL… hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

This disturbance sounds like an eruption of the most disturbing kind. The plum cake is beautiful and bet it was delish.

  10. kolytyi says:

I think you should classify the recipe and set up a new laxative-producing firm. It should be a goldmine … or a sh.tmountain? (And if we add the cheesecake formula, too, then… OMG!!!)

  11. Kim says:

Your plum crumb cake looks so tasty! Thanks for the share!

  12. cecilia07 says:

  15. How can something that looks so yummy turn so ugly? Maybe you should park yourself in front of the kitchen and refuse to move till your mom promises not to bake anymore…

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  16. Kismet says:

You haven’t learned yet? Anytime the staff experiments in the kitchen, you go down the street to the local bistro and eat something good there. Who knows? You might meet a hot girl at the bistro.

  17. Sounds plum dangerous!
My grandmom used to make crumbly cakes with berries inside – those seed stuck in between all teeth as well as the sugary syrup and crumbs sticking to ribs.
Hope all the running around your place is more in the line of having fun now!

  18. UHOH……..that plum crumbcake will go down in history just like that famous pumpkin cheesecake…..Your Mom definitely has a WAY with desserts! Fruit has a way of working magic on humans’ innards……I hope that you will be able to find a SAFE place to sleep tonight. HAHAHA

    Love, Sammy

Pflaumenkuchen! My mom never heard of it until she went to Germany and in Germany it was easier to get than a glass of water. It was on every corner! Every place she visited gave her a piece of Pflaumenkuchen. She liked it just fine, but it was overkill. In the eight years since we left, she has not had it even once!

  24. Bella, Roxy and Dui says:

Chalk that up for another thing on the list of things not to do. You could get rich if you wrote a book about such things. Then you could buy your momma a whole orachard of plum trees.
