We hold our heads high,

despite the price we have paid,

because freedom is priceless.

Lech Walesa

Hell-o,

I’m, back.  No hangover, no blackout, no fears during that howl-i-day. I was a trooper and barked at the firework. This year it was a special one, the fog that night was as thick as pudding and probably the booms and bangs got wet and made noises like sizzing bacon in a pan and the rockets were more ground forces than space pilots…

Butt anyway. The staff was as busy as a pee bee because  the mama got the unhowly idea to trim the hedges. My dad agreed under protest and wagged  our small electric hedge trimmer halfarsed through the green jungle.

IMG_2036

Then our neighbor came, showed my dad how deep he has to cut and after my dad still acted more  like a hairdresser than a jungle-destroyer, the neighbor disappeared and came back with his rainforest-eating bazooka-trimmer…. wow!  the branches whirred around like bullets and within some minutes the neighbor created the green mountains on the floor…. while my mother sent 87 silent arrrooo’s to the sky because she just had cleaned the ground after my dad’s filigree work…

The dad looked mortally offended, because to be a bad hedge trimmer is a kind of deballing …. butt it came much more worse for him…

After one side of the hedge was done, my dad pleaded for “we-can-do-the-other-side-later”… butt the neighbor said no way! if we do it, we do it right…  and so the dad and the seething  volcano inside of him had to do the other side too….

It was a donkeys work and the staff had their furst neardeath eggs-perience, butt….

IMG_2045

…it’s the furst time we have a hedge where efurry branch stands in attention like a soldier…

IMG_2046

…and we have S.U.N. now  in our backyard… that’s like a miracle…

I was busy too… while the staff snipped the hedge the postman came who is still a woman…

IMG_2032

… and because the staff was busy I received the  big envelope the post(wo)man had in her hand…

IMG_2030

…  I knew that the mama has a) no time and b) no power so  I helped her with the unwrapping…

IMG_2031

… and I made some confetti to celebrate the day of a non-rollercoaster hedge…

IMG_2033

… what shall I say? The mama was friggin’ ungrateful…

IMG_2035

….and she gave me NO! standing ovations for adding the super hip used look to her stuff…

IMG_2034

No good deed goes unpunished…oh yeah… oh man!

…and while we’re on it:

Today is that dead lion thingy… just saying..

Easy be glad the neighbor left with a hedge. The house next door chopped off their hedge down to stumps ~ now it’s no privacy at all. Lee just got the cost of a privacy fence, over a thousand and eight weeks out to install. Yips my summer is ripped.
    Sweet William The Scot

  31. Be the plants. They know peace…as well as pieces.
I need your neighbor…our hedges are taking advantage of the Time of the Indoors ( summer temps close to 100 F). Molly refuses to get off the couch but will supervise from the window
