we are back from our bug-mission and I can tell ya, that was  a special one…

My dad climbed on that pine tree with a ladder what  he pimped with a plastic box… then they used a telescope clipper what was too short, so he had to disimprove it  too. Sadly after the pole was longer, he couldn’t reach the trigger-rope… but he fixed that with a piece of an ole dogs leash…

With that pawfect and pawfessional equipment, he could remove the branch with the root of the evil. My mother couldn’t take photos, because SHE HAD TO HOLD THE LADDER AND THE DAD! More symbolic, of course, because in a case of a dad-crash, she would be as useful as a fart in a jacuzzi…

Nevertheless the branch was off and my daddy burnt it in the back yard…

…. can you imagine that? not even a hellfire can beat that evil…IMG_1115

… some things are so darned bad even the devil will not take it…

After that they  used a whole bottle of Raid and my dad sacrificed his last bottle of lighter fluid for another auto-da-fè. The fire still burns so I’m not allowed in the back yard. But this time they beat the evil….

…sadly  VICtory and VICtim start with the same letters and here is ours:

My momma!  While my dad worked in that tree  a lot  of dirt from the cocoon  came down on her and caused an eyeritis. And because she is my Ma the dogtors call that Ma-dras eye… Her  left look-o-mator is swollen and red, so she has to treat it with compresses now.  She has to stay away from books, compawters and tv to pawtect her peeper, so I’m her service dog and tell her what goes on in TV…. that’s a lot of work, butt as long as she finds the plug-in  for greenies with one peeper, I’m fine with that…

I am not surprised that compresses and bandages are part of this story. Those demon bastards really had it in for your peeps, E. I’m happy they’re gone to ashes and hoping your mom can once again see your complete beauty (and where the greenies are hidden) with both her eyes.

    Love and licks,

  3. fredrieka says:

oh no that is not good you have to protect your peepers. hope she is better soon. I like her frog pillow. I would love to snuggle on it. Butt they got rid of the evil nest

  4. UHOH…….your Dad’s head was protected with that hat your Mom got him butttttt your poor Mom’s eye was NOT protected and she got caterpillar debris in it! YIKES! Sorry about that – hopefully some good rest of her eyeball and it will be alright. Something told me this latest DIY project might have an unhappy ending……..but didn’t know it would be your MOM who got the worst of it! Take care of her Easy……she needs you!

    Love, Sammy

  5. Oooh nooooh again! Not a good result for Mom 😦 Hope that’s the last you see of those horrid critters.

  6. DailyMusings says:

OMG what a mess. First you clean up a mess, then make a mess, then a mess is in your eye. Poor momma… Easy you might have to give Momma a greenie since she has a Seriously Injured Eye. LeeAnna

I missed your last post and had to go back and see what I was looking at. Eeeeaw! Scary scary bugs! 🐛🐛🐛🐛
We don’t have these here. They like to do the conga line. .. kinda funny! Glad dad got the nest. Seems these guys are a huge pain in the eye. Oops I mean butt, but you know what I’m saying 😉 Even Easy could get zapped by these guys spikes. Yes, they are pretty evil!
    Hope mom gets better soon.

  11. saymber says:

Sounds like you all had quite the drama! I’m not a fan of Raid or chemicals like it anymore when dealing with bug problems but not everyone agrees. You all did what you felt you needed to for this. Sorry your Maw’s eyes were collateral damage on the whole operation! Give her love from me. Enjoy your alls weekend.

    • me neither, I always think such sprays make everything much more worse… but this time we had to fight with everything we had… :o(

      • saymber says:

I understand you did what you felt you had to. I wasn’t in your paws so I can’t judge! I will say since we stopped using chemicals and stopped sending bags of leaves to landfills we have less bugs. I have a pink plastic cup we use to do bug and gecko transports to get them back outside. I have found since we stopped with our violence…so have they. Hmmm. Love to you.

    • franhunne4u says:

These crawlers are not harmless – so they had to be killed!

      • saymber says:

I understand what your saying. I’ve just found alternatives in the past few years to combat fire ants, wasps and other critters like them. The insects are like us and the more and stronger chemicals we use on them, the stronger and more resistant they become to survive. Just like us.

      • franhunne4u says:

I agree with other insects who are merely a nuisance. Like wasps. For most, who are not allergic.

  12. Oh no! Your poor Mom! Hope it heals quickly!!!

  13. Goose says:

Not even fire can destroy the evil bugs?!!!!!! They must really be from hell to withstand the flames. They must of felt right at home in the heat. I am glad you finally got them gone. Kisses to your momma to get better.

  14. Glad the bugs are dead, the dad is OK, but now you are injured. You really need to hire out this job. 🙂 Have a good weekend.

  15. Piglove says:

Oh NO — poor mom. You have to treat her right and be her seeing eye pooch brother. At times you know with dad’s vision, I lend a hoof and become his seeing eye pig – it works for us and I only walk him into 1-2 doors in the Hotel Thompson – snorts. And I can’t believe those horrid little creatures wouldn’t go to hell. That’s the makings of a horror story there – I’m telling you! XOXO – Bacon

    • I so agree… maybe they died and came back as zombie-carterpillars? Bro, just between us, I tried to cheer her up with placing a rat in the kitchen … but instead to honor my first prey of 2016 she screamed and howled…it’s not Easy to entertain her :o(

  16. Wow, your dad is a buggy serial killer. Good for him! I hope your momma’s eyes feel better soon. She has to be able to see to help you blog!!

  17. Dolly the Doxie says:

  18. Kismet says:

You’re letting her rest? I think even sleeping is dangerous to your staff.

  19. Mags says:

Sweet Easy we are happy that all of your Dad’s tools worked and those bugs were finally deaded. Glad too that he did not fall from the ladder. Sure sorry about your Mom’s eye though. We know with you being her service dog and taking excellent care of her that her peeper will be all better very soon. Hugs and nose kisses and big hugs for your sweet Mom.

  20. Lavinia Ross says:

Sorry your Mom’s eye got hit with caterpillar debris. It hurts just thinking about it! I am glad we don’t have those caterpillars here, although what I read was fascinating about how they travel in a line.

  21. cecilia07 says:

Oh no Easy an injured assistant is bad.. Mom has lots of allergies in her eyes that itch etc. So we know this must be 100x’s worse feeling for your sweet mom. We are glad that nasty mile long ‘pillar is no longer around.

I must tell you my mom nearly fell out of her chair when she read, “useful as a fart in a jacuzzi”
    Hugs madi your bfff

  22. The important thing to remember is that bugs can’t talk because if they could they would be screaming how hot the fire was getting. Maybe Dad should have gotten a blow torch and put it on the end of the pole. Poof we would be reading the whole tree went up in fire. Problem resolved no tree for the bugs to come back to.
    Hope Mom is better soon.
    Thanks for being a friend
    Sweet William The Scot

  23. Oh I hope your Ma’s eye feels better. Glad you were able to finally get rid of those creatures!

  26. Oh No – poor momma – Maybe she needs to add safety glasses to their gear when doint such dangerous stuff as fighting the devil bugs. We are sending some special pug POTP just for her eye
    Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel

  27. Bella, Roxy & Macdui says:

BOL! Sounds like projects around here. But we’re hoping your Mum is up watchin’ stuff with both eyes soon.
