MISCHIEF MOANDAY

Welcome to the newest train stop of the EUROSTAR…

image002

…the entrance to the tunnel is ready… and I declare the new railroad track from Brittany  to London for open. Pets are welcome, no matter if you have feathers,  fur or scales… or if you are nekked….

image004

… one way is one chewing bone, round trip is two… and efurry passenger travels furst class….

image005

On thursday evening we had the chimney guy in my crib… he said we have to open the wall so he can take a look on my dad’s non-working  misconfiguration…

image003

…my dad opened the wall, what explains his bandaged gripping devices…because there were some sharp tools included…

image001

…then the chimney guy  said it’s late now and he can’t see anything… and he comes tomorrow… and since furryday we wait for the chimney guy… or for the train…

And now something about the event of last night. There was a special moon…

moon1

…ok, my moon looks more pitiful, butt that’s because of my tired cam what saw too much weird things. It made only sizzling noises, like butter in a hot pan, butt it’s the thought what counts, right? That’s my moon just  for you REMINGTON

moon2

…and because today is also “ask a stupid question day”, here is mine… I have even THREE of that questions…

FURST: wth is that on the right side? an UFO?

IMG_0199

…and SECOND: what kind of setting is “A-DEP” ?   my momma tried to change the cam mode in the darkness to get a picture of the moon and landed at A-DEP… sorry, the instruction book sleeps still sealed and unused in da box… since 2008 …

cam

Question #3 is solved, the noise of a waterfall was me as I peed next to her stilts…

HAVE A GOOD MO(O)NDAY ALL

In Germany we have a saying: There are no stupid questions, just stupid answers:
LMGTFY (let me google that for you) – A dep:
It’s called A-DEP mode. The term is shorthand for Automatic Depth of Field, or just Automatic depth.
    You are welcome.
If you want in-depth explanation – Google is your friend.
And that strange UFO – well, is it ugly fat and old? If not, it is no ufo. I should know, I am.

  2. kolytyi says:

That strange thingy is a Very Super Moon. At VSM, Moon looks American football ball shaped. It is a highly rare phenomenon. And yes, it is made of cheese, as it easy to see. I only cannot figure out what that small white circle in the centre of your pic might be.
As for your second question, the answer is simple: http://www.digital-photo-secrets.com/tip/1557/what-is-a-dep-on-a-canon-camera-and-how-do-i-use-it/.

  3. Bella, Roxy & Macdui says:

We always get photos like that….though most of the time, we get a double moon. That chimney looks a bit crook, mate. Hope it’s repaired before the cold season gets into swing.

  4. boscocat says:

Hahahaha … I hope your tunnel is open soon to all the paying customers… I thought ADEP was A Dog Everyone Prefers.. Good luck getting it fixed. Maybe my dad can pop past in the duster., which is being swapped for a car with tyres that don’t go flat tomorrow .. I think he just ate too much !

    • …it’s the car I’m sure … we grinned as we read what ride they gave your daddy… and I thought France is more hospitable and they offer their guest an adequate ride LOL

      • boscocat says:

He said the Gendarme were doing breath alcohol testing and he said je suis australian and the policeman looked at the car registration and looked at the outside of the car.. Muttered some french and waved him on.. I told him he was probably in awe of the duster – or nissan Audi try hard ! Back to Caen to see what he gets tomorrow !

      • I bet he met a nice gendarme-guy… they know that song from men at work here too :o)

      • boscocat says:

Hahaha he was all out of vegemite sandwiches .. I was kind of hoping he would get locked up for looking like magilla gorilla on a roller skate .. He loves the french – raves about them .. He’s more scathing on the tourists ! I think he even bought a cheesy gift from the tapestry ! That’s my mums Xmas sorted 🙂

      • from the Bayeux tapestry? wow!!!! that’s a much better gift than to enter Coco’s booth with the high prices :o)

      • boscocat says:

Yep 2 items for 12 euro !! And he only had to listen to cat wailing through the whole expo !

  5. We don’t need the ADEP setting to take dreadful pictures of the moon 😀 Keep us posted on your ned chimney transport system – it could make our lives a heck of a lot easier!

  6. The moon looks pretty. The chimney – not so much. Yikes! Do not let your mom or dad near that thing.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  7. We’re not sure we want to ride on that train. The UFO was purrty interesting though….

    The Florida Furkids

  8. Mrs P says:

OMGOODNESS you weren’t kidding when you mentioned your chimney was like the Eurostar tunnel, is your mom starting a B&B for all the tourists if so count us all in !!!

  9. EEEEK on the new train tunnel right through your living room. Let’s hope that repair guy is coming back some time this century to finish the project. Sooner or later that hole is gonna be pushing out COLD FREEZING AIR and who wants air-conditioning in the winter?!?!?! Meanwhile, the UFO and moon photos are pretty cool. We didn’t see the moon last night thanks to clouds and rain. Darn….missed out on the Super Blood Moon (although that does sound kind of scary anyway!).

    Hugs, Sammy

    • we hope that he maybe comes today… or tomorrow like he said on thursday LOL
the moon was not orange or red here, but it was big and it looked as if you could touch him with your hands… when you climb on the roof… butt we rather refused to do that after my daddy’s salto mortale :o)

  10. Emmadog says:

We saw some of the special moon, but then fell asleep because it was boring. Mom saw a bit more but also fell asleep. Be careful in you tunnel, it looks spooky!

  11. fredrieka says:

tunnel vision and moonies what a purrrfect day cameras still boggle momwithoutpaws

  12. cecilia07 says:

Oh dear Easy that is a big honking hole in the wall. If I lived there I’d already be up there in the abyss exploring and Mom would be squealing for me. thank goodness you are too big to fit up there. Our friends over at http://wareworld-sandra.blogspot.com
have some wonderful moon shots at the very end of their blog
    Hugs madiyour bfff

  13. saymber says:

We got some pretty pitiful pics of the lunar eclipse…the eyes are the best camera and holding your romantic partner and sharing a kiss…priceless! Egads you all have another mess in the house. Dad is as bad a termite with how he’s tearing through your house lol – at least he puts it back together better than before! 🙂

  14. Buddy says:

WOW I would love to travel and explore in that there hole. Do you think you could get to me if you went through? Like a magic hole.
    Blessings,
    Buddy

  15. Nice picture of the moon… we got no moon last night because it was as you say, “as dark as the a$$ of a salamander because of a thick cloud cover. Also because we were too tired to go outside and see if the moon was there! Hope the fireplace gets fixed!

  16. Good question about that UFO siting – sure looks mysterious to me.

  17. Brian says:

It was way to cloudy here for us to see anything in the sky. Thanks for mooning us on Monday Easy!

  18. We couldn’t see the eclipse because of clouds. Bummer. Hope your chimney gets fixed soon. It will probably go faster if you offer to help.
–Wags (and purrs) from Life with Dogs and Cats

  19. PigLove says:

ooohhh squeals – a UFO!? Did you hear anyone say they were going to need a bigger probe? Snorts with piggy laughter. XOXO – Bacon

  20. Hari OM
first one got you the answer re depth of field…. but given what happens at your crib, it could also mean All Danger Exposed Photos!!!…. crikey, the papa must stay away from roofs; stay away from weims chasing bikes; stay away from sharp tools…………… buy the man a marshmallow suit!!!

Meanwhile, the moon event was worth the sleepless night, eh? you did good with your little shutterbuglet… and the UFO must surely be Martians. Or maybe a street lamp.
    Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  21. lapaylor says:

I went out and saw the eclipse but didn’t even try to get a picture with my little point and shoot. It must have been scary to ancient people. It was kind of awesome to see the planets moving in real time for me.
Cole was fast asleep with dad.
    LeeAnna

  22. Jan K says:

That tunnel looks pretty scary, so we do not want to go in there!!!
Hmmm…A-Dep, we have to say we do not know that one, our camera does not have it. Even if our camera had it, we’d also have to get out the book to look it up (but since our camera is new, the book is more easily accessible…not that we’ve read it or anything…BOL). You still got some nice moon shots though, and we think yes, that is definitely a UFO.

  23. Kismet says:

Whatever you do, do NOT let your staff open the camera instructions. You’d have the first case of terminal paper cuts on your paws.

  24. Fozziemum says:

Easy i am suprised my Brother in law is not in your tunnel..but then he did travel as Maurice said in style hahahhah ..i should put the kettle on and await your arrival from the tunnel..help yourself to a coffee or tea or hot chocolate..i shall be in bed..but Forrest is in the loungeroom and is quite good at finding the treats..do not go near Pickles..that moon you shot has sent her mental..and yes auto D.OF. just because hahahah dang cameras…loves Fozziemum ..pee ess i have made the bed up for you 🙂

    • Oh it would be great to meet your BIL… but he better parks the car outside, I’ve read it’s a DUSTER LOL. my momma was pixxed last night, she walked through the wet grass in the thickest darkness to get such pitiful photos… well, ok the alien was cool, butt the cam was a pain in the ass… just sizzling noises and then we got a dirty dot what could be efurrything eggs-cept the moon :o(

      • Fozziemum says:

It is uper annoying when that happens..i tried the other night but here it is so white that in the light i got not much as i could not see what i was doing ..go figure..still learning the ropes with the new camera 🙂 but aliens are cool..i got what looked like a streak of lightning as i hand held it..so blurry ..yes my BIL seems to have scored well with the car hahhaha 🙂 i am off to the land of nod..to spoon a mangy dog..oh my glamour life 🙂 xxx

  25. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face. Hopefully the tunnel will soon be closed and not at great cost, although the latter is doubtful.

    janet

  26. Earl Lover says:

    Oh gosh! Mischief strikes!

  27. OUr sky was cloudy and the blood moon was just a very dark moon that you could hardly see – hope the fireplace guy gets your tunnel fixed up!
    hugs
    Mr bailey, Hazel & Mabel

  28. I have a Canon camera and the A-DEP mode relates to Automatic Depth of Field where you tell the camera which parts of your photo need to be in-focus, and the camera picks a corresponding aperture guaranteed to get everything just right. You can Google that and find other loads of helpful info on it. Good luck!

While having a tunnel in your house is quite the conversation piece and amenity, I hope the chimney guy comes soon to fix it. There’s some comfort in realizing repair people are the same all over the world but mostly NOT! Fingers and paws crossed he shows up again soon. 🙂

    • so it was wrong to use this feature for the moon…I guessed it :o) it’s still a book with 7 seals to me LOL
the chimney guy must be the devil himself… maybe we have to use black candles and a magic spell that he comes back once?

  29. Deziz World says:

OMC Easy ifin y’all keep tearin’ up yous house there won’t be anyfin’ left. MOL Dat’s stwange dat da firplace man wanted y’all to tear open da wall. 30. Oh Easy, a new channel tunnel, all the way to your place.Well this is most tremendous news. I’ll be on my way before you can say “illegal immigrant.
    Toodle pip!
    Bertie.

  31. It could be a time portal. We’re still feeling arrooooo about the moon. Saw part of the eclipse before clouds arrived but no photo!

  32. dorysbackyard says:

Wow, that was a very super moon, Easy!! Our Mama also took some very bad pictures of it!! Now….about that train…will it be making a stop on this side of the pond too?? We just love trains!!
    Smileys!

  33. I’m not much into tunnels, butt, for you, I’d tawdle through one to visit.

  34. Two French Bulldogs says:

Dang!! We thought it was a waterfall. A-dep? What the heck
    Lily & Edward

  35. The OP Pack says:

We hope the chimney guy comes back and fixes the train station. Meanwhile we are hunting everywhere for two bones each so we can get a ride. And we think that thingamajig in the photo is an alien Mr. Potato Head:)

    Woos – Ciara and Lightning

  36. Did you see anyone famous in the tunnel? Minnie Mouse, maybe? Pull the flat me out and Minnie Mouse will be a memory. Together we could accomplish the world…hehehehehehehe.

    Shoko

    • I only saw a soider there… but it can be famous too, maybe it is the spider of that kiddie-song? too bad that we can’t ask it… I did what a dog has to do and my momma screamed eeeeeew!

  37. finleywestie says:

Sure hope dat chimney guy comes back soon and closes up dat hole– ya could git lost in dat tunnel!!

  38. How cool, a UFO ! We all slept during the Super Moon, can you imagine it ? Purrs

  39. I do not have A-Dep on my camera. I am kind of worried for another big construction project at your house. We all know what happened with the roof….

  40. Lee says:

Easy you got it all wrong that is The Hogwarts Express the train that makes a run between London, King’s Cross Station Platform 9¾ and Hogsmeade Station. It makes this run at about six times a year or as needed. So I say when it stops you better jump on with all the mischief that happens around your crib.
    Thanks for being a friend
    Sweet William The Scot

  41. OMD! That fireplace looks like a fellow could sure get dirty in there. We had clouds and no moon, but I am sure that you captured the UFO.

  44. KB says:

Did the train come yet? How convenient – having a train stop right in your crib!

Definitely a UFO. Watch out for the aliens. They’re coming to get you!!!!

  45. Clowie says:

I hope the chimney gets sorted before it gets too cold for you, Easy!

  46. dogdaz says:

Best to go back to using your phone camera, then nothing will come out clear, but you won’t have to worry about settings because there are none. Chimney stuff looks bad, hope it is fixed soon and doesn’t cost you too many bones.

  47. We lucked out here, Easy. Totally cloudy and rainy. No worrying over camera settings or getting a good picture. Win-win!
