Yes, that’s eggsactly what we need… a beautiful moment between all that mischief and homemade chaos…

So here we go…

It happened many moons ago…. as my momma was a puppy in her first school year. One night her uncle woke her up and said she should come with him to the kitchen, butt she has to be silent and quiet, no wild jumping, screaming or fidgeting…

And in the kitchen she met:

… a fawn, her uncle brought home after his mom died in an accident on a corn field. It’s super sad, butt such  accidents can happen on a farm, the most dears are like banned from the lights of the farm machines at night and there is mostly no chance for the drivers to dicover them early enough…

Butt there was Peter who survived and he was in the kitchen of my mommas granny, wrapped in the jacket of her uncle ….

To raise a fawn is not easy, they can’t get common cow milk and after they talked with the forest ranger the next day, they brought Peter to my mommas grand granny… who had a goat. The goat called  Mrs. Hepple, after the evil math teacher of her cow-sins  refused to raise a fawn and so my momma and one of her cow-sins started their first foster project. They fed Peter via  bottle with the milk of the goat and against all odds it really worked and Peter started to grow and to gain some weight.

mom, peter and her cow-sin Andy

He also lost his natural shyness and became like  a pet…. butt after  some months Peter acted like a deer, he got horns and he used it… and he didn’t need the company of two silly girls who invited him to tea pawties… he needed the company of deers… and there was NO CHANCE to return him to the wild, he never learnt what he has to do to survive and he never learnt to run away from humans…

… and therefore mom’s grampy did 87 phone calls till he found a wildpark who was able to take Peter… it was 900 miles away and one day Peter had to enter a horse trailer together with the uncle and with wild howling of my mom and the cow-sin, Peter traveled to his new home… Fortunately Peter was accepted by the other deers of the wildpark, because the uncle refused to ride back in the horse trailer, his butt felt  anyway like a dustpan from the journey to the park… and we sometimes called the people and asked for Peter, who had a good life with the other deers of the park.

For my momma that summer  wasn’t the summer of her first year in school… it was the summer of Peter… and a summer full of beautiful moments…
