Hell-o,
to a new epawsode of Bacon’s and Fozziemum’s shopping around the world…
This time the little oinker asked for a meal, made from 5 (or more) ingredients, bought in TWO different stores. That’s higher math, so I have to support my momma…
I decided to make the easiest and cheapest cake of slice earth. It’s a cake WITHOUT flour and nearly a cake made without anything…
You need:
4 packs a’ 1.5 oz of pudding powder, the old style pudding, you have to cook with milk and sugar…
like this one:
pudding powder contains cornstarch, so you need no flour… you can work with vanilla powder…
1 pack contains 4x pudding powder= euros 0. 29, $$ 0.33 at Lidl, euros 0.49, $$ 0.56 at e.leclerc
…or chocolate powder, it works with both. We used chocolate this time…
4 middle size eggs
pack of 10 eggs 1.09 euros $$ 1.24 at Lidl, 1.69 $$ 1.89 at e.leclerc
1 cup (~200 gram) sugar
pack of sugar 1kg= euros 0.89 $$ 1.01 at Lidl and 1.80 euros $$ 2.02 at e.leclerc
3/4 cup of oil or 40 gram (1.29 oz) molten butter (not as hot as hell, let it chill down a little)
1 piece of 250 gram = euros 1.09 $$ 1.24 at Lidl and 2.25 euros $$ 2.52 at e.leclerc
we used butter, because some oils have a strong taste of its own…
1/2 package of baking soda ,
pack contains 4 bags = euros 0.29 $$ 0.33… sorry I couldn’t find the baking soda at e.leclerc I forgot my breadcrumbs to find the way back :o)
throw the eggs, the sugar, the molten butter (or the oil) and the baking soda in a bowl and give it some free caroussell rides with your hand-held blender, till all the ingredients are well mixed….you also can use your paws and if you use chocolade powder you haven’t to wash them before you start …. just saying…
now add the 4 packs of pudding powder to that mash and give it another ride on the merry-go-round till you have a smooth pulp….
pre-heat your oven to 180 °c /356 F
…use a silicone baking mold, or if you use a common tin mold, line it with baking paper or you have to eat the cake INCLUSIVE the mold…
we used a smaller loaf pan ~ 25 cm
pour the pulp into the baking mold, throw it in your oven and let it bake for ~ 45 to 50 minutes…(do the toothpick test). If your oven starts to transform your cake into charcoal on the top, you can cover it with tinfoil or baking paper …
while waiting you can do your nails…
or you can eat a shoe …
or two…
if you use a bigger baking mold, you have to reduce the baking time and you have to watch it from time to time… let’s say, then you rather should skip the nail part and you can’t eat a shoe or two… butt maybe it’s time enough to eat a flip-flop or a sock…
Viola! ready…
I only sniffed on that cake-thingy, this Weimaraner dislikes all chocolate stuff
it’s a simple stirred cake thingy, what you can decorate with icing sugar or chocolate fondant. You also can use it as a flan base when you want to add cream or fruits…. It’s easy peasy to prepare and pawfect if you get unexpected guests you don’t want to see anymore or if you are allergic to flour…
Happy Shopping!!!

Now that’s MOM’S kind of recipe….. Very EASY (Pun intended) Hap-Pee WindsDay!
We have to stay away from that chocolate too, Easy, but we are sure our Dad would love that cake. It sure looks like it is very moist. He would probably want Mom to lather it with frosting, but that would be OK if she uses vanilla so we could get a lick or two of the icing:)
Woos – Ciara and Lightning
Perfect… now I have dessert for after Sammy’s Mom’s recipe for ChuckBurger Stroganofff!

theoretically this cake has zero calories… it’s without flour… and the flour is the thingy with that 87k calories… :o)
Plus if you stand up to eat it, any calories fall out. Just saying. 😉
Eat it in the dark and you cannot sea it – and calories that cannot be seen do not count.
Even better!
Just that I meant you cannot SEE it … *sigh*
Okay, you’ve got me all hungry again Easy!

You lost my mom towards the top of the post. First she was excited about Dr. Oetker, then she read Lidl and it was all over. Mom loves Lidl and we don’t have any here. We have Aldi, but she so prefers Lidl. You are lucky!

That cake looks delish. We can’t believe you didn’t take a little taste.
