Hell….o,

to a new episode of Shopping around the world by Bacon & Fozziemum.

My mom is still suspended from wasting mohneh shopping, so my dad has to shop around. Fortunately this time Bacon picked easy items, probably specially for non-shop-a-holics like my dad.

TODAY:

CONDIMENT OF YOUR CHOICE

we picked Worcestersauce. It’s an allrounder what can rescue even the most epic fail in the kitchen. If it tastes like nothing or like crap, use Worcestersauce and it tastes like Worcestersauce. Easy, huh? There is also an recipe by Bunk and Agatha for a tasty sauce what goes nearly with all food, maybe except ice cream butt I’m not sure, I haven’t tested that…

IMG_1074 Heinz Worcestersauce EU 1.99= $$ 2.26=GBP 1.46

FROZEN MEAL OF YOUR CHOICE

I wasn’t sure what it means, maybe that foodables what are ready to eat in front of tv after a wild carousel ride in the microwave? So I picked ROESTI (same like latkes or hash browns) and smoked salmon with dill&lemon. Both thingies are frozen, you only have to wait till the salmon is defrosted, then  throw the Roesti in your oven till they are brown and crispy and then  dig in…

IMG_1067 Roesti 750 gram  EU 2.49=$$ 2.83=GBP 1.82/salmon 100 gram 1.99 = $$2.26=GBP 1.46

DESSERT/SWEET OF YOUR CHOICE

Since my dad is the shopperer, this thingies are rare, butt at least he bought ice cream with Oreo cookies to kill the next Suzie Q. memorial pants comfort the sweet tooth:

IMG_1068 Nestlè Cookies&Cream 4 pieces  EU 2.99 = $$ 3.40=GBP 2.19

FRUIT OF YOUR CHOICE

Dad’s are eggscellent  with buying eggs, butt they are lost when it comes to fruits. They don’t touch every fruit and they never do an autopsy first  for brown marks, dirt, scratches etc…. They only grab a pack with apples and throw it in the shopping cart. Mission Completed. Sink or swim.

IMG_1069 4 apples Pink Lady what have seen better times 87 years ago: EU 2.49=$$ 2.83 = GBP 1.82

RANDOM ITEM

I picked an item MY MOMMA bought the day of the A-PAW-CALYPSE at Aldi . It’s from her junk store and a REAL TRASHURE:

IMG_1070 it’s a kind of portfolio of CUNARD LINE, probably it was made to hold the menu cards for the last dinner before doomsday.

IMG_1071  efurryday is doomsday anyway  in my crib, so I used it to hold all my christmas cards

IMG_1072 it’s pawfect to hold all cards even those who have a special size… I think that’s a great idea..

IMG_1073 … butt the greatest thingy is the price…  EU 0.99=$$1.12 =GBP 0.79

AWWWW-HOY!

This Fryday is also  the Fractured Fryday Hairy Tails by the Mayors Murphy and Stanley, what makes a fit occasion  with my shopping post:

fryday0

I noticed a difference between male and female shoppers since my dad is the purveyor to my silvermistygrey court….  He sticks 100% to the shopping list and if something isn’t available what you need together with another thingy, he follows the list as mulish as a mule… so we have the sauce and the cheese for a pizza, but the dough was sold out… or he couldn’t find it without a GPS…  My momma would replace the sauce and the cheese with another impawtant thingy, maybe a bodylotion or a ponytail holder and we wouldn’t have  a truckload of things in our cupboard what  not fit together… and it also makes NO sense to buy a baking mix  for cupcakes with the delusion, that you only have to open the box and the cupcakes marche out and directly in your mouth….

Butt after all, he makes a lot of progress and the times as he entered IKEA with a multi-sided shoppinglist and came back with nothing but  a desklamp (without lightbulbs of course) are history.

It was much better than I could ever have imagined as he came back yesterday… he brought a big bag of food for me what we not need, because he still bought a bag one day before and he brought two big boxes of EGGS…. that’s  EGGSCELLENT I think :o)

HAVE A SUPER SHOPPING DAY ALL

I know what you mean about Dads shopping Easy, my Dad does ours and ‘if it’s not on the list it doesn’t get bought’ but if it’s in the list you get loads, like the time he brought home 5 packs if mushrooms ‘cos he didn’t know which we had!
    Loves and licky kisses

  2. No matter the cost, ice cream is ALWAYS a great deal!

  3. kolytyi says:

Maybe dads should be transformed into CyberDads when they have to do the shopping alone. They could be made remote controlled with the help of such thingies: http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/JVC-ADIXXION-Action-Camera.jpg.

  4. Yum and drool today. Have a fabulous Friday.
    Best wishes Molly

  5. BOL! Your dad sounds about as skilled at shopping as ours!! Only in extreme emergencies will mom ask dada to do the shopping because she says we can’t afford his shopping efforts – you see dada has NO concept of price or shopping around, he sees it, he buys it regardless of what it costs.

  6. Ice Cream is always worth it, whatever the cost!!

  7. fozziemum says:

Eggs again….hahhahah there will be a methane build up in your crib my friend which will make the chimney episode look like a day on the green hahaha..and yes i have made from scratch worcester sauce..go figure! it was an eye burner my friend but very good! and the dad here is well trained ..ti ring if an item is not available..but he always comes home with random things i never buy as well…and btw he only rings to check because we have had many a stormy night when he has mucked up a list hahaahaha 🙂 loves Fozziemum xxx

    • my dad never rings… because he always forgets the phone at home ( a no-go specially now, with a damaged mom). and he is not good in finding trashures :o)

      • fozziemum says:

Hahaah trashures to huh…boy! well Fozziedad found two great outdoor chairs reduced to 2 for 120 dollars..bargain here…but yet he brings home biscuits that they have in hospitals ???? odd…very odd..:)

      • hahahaha my dad bought a bargain-sunlonger once too … the head section snapped back as my mom parked her butt on that thingy and broke her nose…. total knockout after 2 seconds, better than Mike Tyson :o)

      • fozziemum says:

Bhwaahahaaahaahh oh man…i am in fits laughing..lucky i stocked up on TP..bwahahahaha 🙂

      • the worst was that it happened 6 weeks after my mom panhandled a rhinoplasty from my grampy… easy come, easy go…and the worst worst was that her mom laughed like crazy… because my mom contorted her eyes like the dying swan before she swooned… a weird kind motherly love :o)

      • fozziemum says:

Bwhahahahha always the way!! my mum is of the same cloth…always laughed at my misfortune…oh dear no wonder we are not normal hahahahah 🙂 xx

frozen meals I eat are free, they come in all shapes and sizes and found beneath the snow

when dad goes shopping here, he acts like it is the first time he ever saw a supermarket. amazing things come home, Honeycrisp apples for $4.99 a lb because they are not in season, things that he knows he will regret eating late at night that will mean moving the belt loop- figs and dates and nuts. I need to list the items by aisle, or he will never find them!

    • I sometimes draw a map or write the direction and the shelf behind the item i want… it works only rarely :o( either they rearrange the supermarket every night or my trashure map is a flop :o)

  10. Midwestern Plant Girl says:

You guys looked like you had lots of fun shopping. It’s not shoes 👠👡👢 But, it’s still a little fun!

  11. HAHAHAHA……..well, my Dad is forbidden from entering a grocery store on his own. When he DOES go with my Mom, she’s like a lady with a two-year old toddler that she’s constantly searching for in the aisles or dragging along behind her because he’s stopping to look at EVERY SINGLE ITEM ON THE SHELVES……anyway, the few times he has shopped for Mom, he has shopped like your Dad shops. Need I say more????? I’m sure you’ll be glad when your Mom’s hell-bow is totally healed up and when she goes to the grocery, the stuff she beings home makes some sense!

    Hugs, Sammy

    • I’m in Sammy… dad’s aren’t made for shopping :o) my dad is like a toddler too, he always started to open packages and to eat while waiting at the checkout… so my momma decided to leave her kids at home :o)

  12. Angel Pip & Ruby says:

BAwhahahahahahahaha! I think our moms might be related …she goes shopping for bread and cheese and comes home with some new bath products, or magazines or a couple of books or maybe a new sweater for me …she’s what they call an impulse buyer.

P.S.: all those pictures are making me hungry!

  13. What hilarious way to start my day! I know exactly what you mean about Dads shopping, especially with the fruit.

    janet

  14. Our Dad will call Mom from the store and ask where to find stuff…..amazing that he managed to live alone before we came along!!

    The Florida Furkids

  15. Reilly & Denny says:

Our Dad is the same – in and out the store as fast as he can and gets only what is on the list

  16. Haha…I don’t let the dad do the shopping…

  17. Oh Easy, you are so right about the dads and their shopping. The only time my dad comes back with everything on the list is when he is shopping at the home improvement store…because that’s the dad store. Ma makes him go grocery shopping with her because she is not allowed to push the cart…she gets very impatient with the people who block the aisle because they need to read every label on every food known to man and then…she will crash her cart into theirs which makes for unhappy shoppers.
    Oz

  18. LOL, your worcestershire sauce is my seasoning salt. I can dump it over pretty much anything to drown out the taste… and I’m sure it only slightly contributes to my high blood pressure…

  19. I think you might be into something here… Worcestersauce with ice-creams… hmmmm … I wonder if we can develop a recipe around it? Would you give it a go?

  20. Kismet says:

You guys watch your egg consumption-I take it personally.

  21. PigLove says:

Snorts and rolls with laughter brother. Dads so can NOT shop. My dad is the world’s worse as well. Mom gives him a list and sends him, he comes home with twice as much spent in junk food. And the list – what list he will say – snorts. So mom does the shopping. Mom’s are good at that. Mom even told dad once that “I” would do better shopping than he does. Now that’s saying a lot huh? And brother that ice cream – my lips are wanting it. It looks so good! XOXO – Bacon

  22. CH loves Woos-tersher sauce on everything that he isn’t busy putting Soy Sauce or Sriracha on. I am surprised he hasn’t tried it on ice cream!

  23. dorysbackyard says:

What great shopping selections…for the most part and what a great FFHT story to go along with your shopping trip!

  24. Your dad did a excellent job. I will always think of your mom now laying on her butt in Aldi’s parking lot every time I hear about Aldi’s every time I shop at Aldi’s, Hope all is well and that she is healing up better and better each day.

    • It’s a little better but the arm is still useless as a piece of wood :o( I’ve heard the eternal rival of aldi, LIDL will jump over the big pond, that’s anyway the better store (and even a little cheaper than aldi), maybe you will get one too :o)

  25. Emmadog says:

Men and women do have a different style of shopping, that is for sure. It is always interesting for Mom to see what products stores in other places sell or don’t sell and what the prices are. When she was a flight attendant, she loved going to grocery stores in foreign countries to see what they were like.

  26. Brian Frum says:

You always do such a great job shopping Easy, you could start the Easy Shopping Network!

  27. cecilia07 says:

My Daddy is a GREAT shipper! Mommy does not think so as he always brings home things that is not on the list and forgets the things on the list.

Our Dad thinks our Mom spends wayyy to much money at the grocery store, so she told him from now on to do his own shopping, which means he would starve to death cos he never has any money……stella rose

  32. It’s so true about the male shoppers. Even with a list, I have give a specific brand name to hubby or he’ll bring back something weird. I love rosti. It’s hard to get here and love the ice cream Americaine 🙂 The French make it so exotic.

  33. speedyrabbit says:

mum said she’ll have the Ice Cream,xx Speedy

  34. Great to blend the shopping and FFHT together EAsy. Mom like the Worcesteshire sauce too!

  35. The OP Pack says:

Our Dad needs a GPS if he goes into the grocery store – he is so easily confused:) But we think he might bring us home lots of tasty ice cream since that is one of his favorites.

Hope Mom is doing better and better each day.

    Happy weekend.

Oh I totally agree at the lacakdizzy way dads have with shoppables. But now my old fella is tottery on the tootsies, so get his ready planned menu stuffs all delivered to his freezer from some special kitchen or other.

Till I come and stay that is… now he is making YAMALI-Cart-Me orders for (wait for it) eggs all ways and yoghurt home-bakered cakes and all such stuffs. I think he is on the mend!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  45. Haha I am laughing about your Dad shopping. That is how it is here except hubby would get the things on the list and then treats for himself!
