first the most important thing: my dad’s sprinkler system works! YAY! It’s really a little like a sprinkler system, butt the dogtor said that’s normal and it will be better after a while. My dad has to take meds for some months now and he has to see the dogtor again on 12/18. Butt it actually  seems that the storm is over…or waned…

Sadly we had a beach of a day today. In the early morning we had an electrical short on the first floor while my dad shaved his clochard-beard  away. Suddenly we all were standing clueless in the darkness.  My dad finished his transformation into a human with a flashlight and he actually looked that way… uh maaaan… and we also had no phone, no internet, no light and no hot water….. we just had a cell phone and as annoying that thingies can be, today we were happy to have one and we will praise the inventor of that cell phones furever&ever… Heck, Overlook  Twins… number unobtainable… please call later…

otwins

… or till we are bugged the next time with weird ringtones and phoning car drivers…

Then the visiting nurse became sick over the weekend and sent a substitute who had problems to find my crib… although I mark the way every day on my noon patrol… butt humans and their pitiful sense for smells…she came late butt she came…

As the catheter was out my dad called the power-guy and then he drove to the hospital, while my mom and me were waiting for Mr. Power… butt no one came.

As my dad came back, my mom hopped in the Elephant Skater immediately to buy some groceries, while I waited with my dad for Mr. Power. It was like a relay race, just without medals.

While my mom brought our money to the store owners, my dad and me checked the power lines and we found the culprit: a distribution box on my stairs with a cooked wire. And while we gave us fives and slapped our backs, the power-guy appeared… what a timing!

Now my mom is back, it’s 5:15 pm and while I write my post the staff throws the first food of today in their bellies. My momma is totally pooped and she has only one wish: to see her.. no,  MY bed. Dad looks like hit by a wrecking ball, butt he is happy that he can write peemails again, even though a little scrawly….

We are back tomorrow and I hope well groomed and as good as new after a hopefully quiet night….

How wonderful that your dad is home and everything’s going well with him!!! I knew all my puppy prayers would help! 😉 How scary though that you had a cooked wire in your house – we had one before I was born and another just a few months ago and we ended up having to have ALL the wiring redone because we were on the brink of a big house fire. Whew! Looks like we both dodged a bullet! Love your pics – give your dad some “welcome home” puppy nose kisses from me (bet they’ll be his first Havachon nose kisses!! 😉 )

  49. Nylabluesmum says:

Good grief what a day all of you had!! Sounds like a day from The Purrfect Pad; may we are related, NO?? 😉
I can relate to power out….Monday nite we had horrid 80-100 MPH winds. Blew out 2 Transfromers what sounded like planes breaking the sound barrier….then a tree on my neighbor’s fell over & we were plunged into darkness….the emergency hall lites lasted a whole 45 minutes so with only a pen lite I had t make my way to a neighbor’s to seek comfort (as he has a cat). Thre was some screaming (me) having flashbacks to bad events…I was yelling for Nylablue & Mingflower & caused quite a commotion I am told (I am embarrassed I can tell you).
So after 15 hours & freezing in bed & having to retreat to the Euro Cafe for hot coffee & brekkie I was completely zombie like but with a full belly 😉
Power was restored 11 am. Tuesday morning….
So now I hope our families ahve no more drama….for at least the rest of the week. WE CAN hope right???
    Much love Sherri-Ellen & Angel Nylablue ❤ ❤ ❤

  50. It does sound like things are improving. 🙂
