I’m back from the vet. The good news is, that I’m in perfect shape and I have 36kg(~79 lbs). Butt the bad news is, that I have a serious inflammation of my  ankle joint. During the examination the vet saw that my dew claw is ripped and the area around is red and swollen. According to Sherlock Holmes the suspect stands to reason that I had probably the same bad bed-accident like Stuart the Scottie. That makes sense, because Kyla said I’m a Scottie h.c., so things what happen to Scotties can happen to me too. ARRRRROOOOO!

The vet said I have to rest and to take it easy for 10 days … maaaaan that’s like the whole eternity… I’ve got a cortisone-shot and I have to take  a half of the Rimadyl-pills in the evening and in the morning. The vet couldn’t remove or clip the ripped claw, because I acted like a berserk when someone came close to my paw. So we wait till the damaged part grows out. I still  feel shitty and I have problems to place a bomb without using all my paws. My mom tried to support me, butt I stopped the process, hey, I’m 5 and I don’t need assistance from my momma for that business…  and I have a right to privacy…

Now I lay on my bed and take a rest while my mom searches for a dogtor who prescribes her a rest too….

Have a good wednesday all

Easy my brother, dog oh dog is there some angry spirit roaming about your crib?? Do you need me to come by and vanquish the mean “causes everyone pain” spirit. Take advantage of your rest time. This is cause for extra treats and hugs. Of course you may put on a few extra feel better pounds butt that’s OK because it might help keep you down and resting. I’m thinking and sending you and your staff all the best heal thoughts and prayers.

  2. Oh Easy, your poor paw!
Now you take very good care of yourself ( and give Mum a nice rest) I could come over and rest wiv you as I’m on bed rest at the moment as well. I finks it entitles us to icey cream don’t you?
    Loves and healing lucky kisses

  3. OUCH! I bet that hurts like CRAZY doesn’t it!! I’m so sorry…….you can tell it’s inflamed and I just know that not being able to toss that bomb outside (!) with all four paws operational must be tough. It’s nice your Mom tries to help buttttttt you’re right – some stuff we guys have to do OURSELVES……the pee mail and poop mail are two of those things! Get lotsa rest – take your meds and GET BETTER SOON my good buddy.

    Hugs, Sammy

  4. Now, that nail damage wouldn’t be related to the huge hole dug by the mole, would it? Bed rest is what we humans crave but bet you’re fed up already 😦 Speedy recovery.

  5. Awww take it easy Easy and rest up!

  6. I am happy that you now know what the problem is. So go take care of your paw and your Paw also.

  7. Mental Mama says:

OUCH! That looks awful! I hope you start feeling better soon. Evie Cat sends kitty-kisses.

  8. Oh sweet boy, I’m sorry that is why I take those darn nails off after birth, they only cause problems. I hope it heals up fast and your back in action. I would of loved to see your mom trying to help you poop! 🙂

  9. Oh no Easy ten days is a long, long time for basket rest. Hope you recover quickly my fine friend and can get back to going out and about. We were thinking of you yesterday. Have a Wonderful Wednesday.
    Best wishes Molly

  10. Will and Eko says:

Glad to hear you’re getting patched up and back on your paws. But 10 days?? Whew, that’s gonna be a long week and a half with no play.

  11. cecilia07 says:

MOL MOL you mom is searching for a doctor to prescribe bed rest. That is too funny Easy. Dear me that dew claw is surely an angry bird. Take it Easy, Easy
    How is your Dad feeling?

  12. Two French Bulldogs says:

    Lily & Edward

  13. Ouchy Ouch! Well, look at it this way. Now you have a great excuse to sleep all day.

    Hap-Pee WindsDay!

  14. Sorry to hear about that, buddy! Bedrest is no fun at ALL — except for the part where you get lots of snuggles. That’s pretty cool.

  15. Brian says:

Dang! We sure hope that time passes before you know it Easy.

  16. You and your dad are having a rough time of it, Easy! I hope both of you are back on your feet, literally and figuratively, very soon! And when you are, I imagine Mom could use a break! 🙂

  17. Sherlock says we’re two peas in a pod. We’re in this together. We’ll limp around and get extra treats for a while. Gee whiz. (At least you can whiz, right?)

    aROOOOO, Stu

  18. WalkToRio says:

    10 days???!!!!
That’s like 2 years in dog days right?
    Glad nothing is broken.

  19. At least they know what caused it and hopefully in no time you will be feeling better. This is the very reason Mom always makes sure her dogs have the dew claws removed – she went through the scare with a doberman she had once – he tore his dew claw right off – it was terrible.

  20. harrispen says:

We sure hope you and everyone in your crib can get some rest and get back to full health soon.

    Millie & Walter

  21. Kyla says:

Dr. Kyla agrees with the other Dr.
Dr. Kyla also prescribes 10 days with lots of treats to soothe the pain.
Pope Kyla reminds you to send 10% of those treats to the church (ME).

  22. fredrieka says:

take care so you will heal fast.. then you can be easy pleasy dog again

  23. Frankie and Ernie says:

OMD Easy that is Awful… a guy can’t even fire the ol’ Poop Shooter when in this condition. You gotta be better soon.
Like Reilly and Denny… our peeps had our dew claws stolen along with our “BAUBLES”.

  24. dollythedoxie says:

Easy between taking care of you and your dad I think that mom does deserve a rest! Please take it easy (hahaha) so that it gets better really fast. Love Dolly

  25. Wah, dearest Easy. Our crazy boy Odin had a similar thing recently and it healed quickly with Vetericyn by CEVA (European co.)

  26. Even the most wonderful blankie gets boring after a while. Not the entertainment any mom wants…you have to give her points for trying to help, but Molly and the German insist there is some dog business that must be done alone.
HUGs to mom and healing warmth sent to man and paw!

  27. We’re glad that the dogtur is getting you fixed up and that it wasn’t too serious. But trouble dropping those bombs, What’s a fella to do? Your mom’s gotta give you some privacy. After the meds kick in maybe the bomb launcher will be able to function with 3 legs. Good luck and everybody at that house, Take It Easy!

    Your Pals,

Murphy & Stanley (who is limping this morning)

  34. PigLove says:

OMP brother! This calls for treats – LOTS of treats – and room service and more treats and toys… you gotta have more toys STAT. Sorry your paw is hurt. I know only so well about not having privacy during matters of manly chores. We gotta draw a line somewhere with our moms. Get better soon! That tunnel to my crib is going to need some work 🙂 XOXO – Bacon

  38. SO sorry to hear of your injured paw Easy…that’s no fun.

  39. Jan K says:

Oh, that poor paw looks so sore, Easy. We’re glad to hear that you’re healthy otherwise, Good luck with the bed rest and the pooping and stuff. Just be a good boy so that it heals up more quickly!
PS….we sure hope your Mom finds the doctor who will prescribe her bed rest as well….we think she needs it! 🙂

  40. oh Easy my poor buddy. When Mom and Dad had puppies they had that dew claw removed right at birth. It is not necessary and it can easily become damaged, infected when dogs dig etc. Their first Sibe did not have hers removed and she damaged it just as you have. So Mom and Dad had surgery on both her front legs to remove the dew claw. It was more difficult at that age as the claw was already attached to the bone, but Mischa never ever again had to have her paws bandaged because she injured her dew claw. We sure do hope yours feels better fast. Maybe a warm compress and then a cool one will help it feel better??? paw hugs, Savvy and Mom L

  41. Misaki says:

10 days of bed rest might not be too bad Easy, but feel better soon xxx

  42. The OP Pack says:

Oh, mega ouchie, Easy!!! We think you had best leave the leaves to us and just do some leaf supervising:) We think you should let Mom help you, just so you can really take care of business. She could use a towel or sheet to help make a sling to hold you steady:)

Woos – Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

  43. Get well soon Easy. That paw looks awfully painful. Make sure your owners carry you around wherever you need to go except when you have to do your business.

  52. Easy, we are soooo sorry that you have a boo-boo on your toe. That is no fun and we don’t blame you for going berserk with the vet. Duh, don’t they know it hurts? I guess if you had a bruise, the vet would want to push it! Grrr. You and dad just chill and you’ll both be better soon. ☺

  56. kolytyi says:

Leo cited some weeks ago this brilliant post: http://notthatfunnyanyway.wordpress.com/2014/10/13/doctors-note-from-stupidface-md/. I think this passage can be applied to your mom, too – she might be ill but that would be a Moms’ Illness:
“I spent several days last week with a Mom Cold. If you are a mom, you know the truth about the Mom Cold, and it’s this: Moms don’t get colds. Moms are needed by everyone to do everything, and if Mom takes even one day off, the house falls to pieces. Mom is a special kind of glue, and if there’s a threat to the glue, everything it holds together is at risk of blowing away in the wind. So moms don’t get colds. Moms get a little sniffly, and then moms take All The Drugs and fake it until we make it. I’m very lucky in that my Mom Colds are usually most notably in my joints, and I can get by on a cocktail of Ibuprofin and Dayquil.”

  57. Awww Easy just rest up on your big bed and let your “owieeee” heal! Sending healing thoughts.
