I planned a school trip with my class for today, sadly the weather guy was wrong and instead of sun we got tons of rain and my back yard is a lake now. The plush guys are not seaworthy and before I have to dispense barf bags, I decided to stay in my class room to spread some essential wisdom to the world …

OMD! That plush-guys   are still there? What’s wrong with me?
Anyway… soooo THE OWLYMPIGS … were invented by an owl and a pig in ancient times. They had a challenge if the pig is strong enough to carry the owl to Athens. Easy peasy for a pig and both entered Athens in short time.

that’s a pig and an owl… at least it was one once…. and it was in ancient times, so the owl is ancient too
In Athens was a dog named Dogenes who lived in a barrel and who liked that idea of sports and he said: I know nothing except the fact of my ignorance and btw: stand kindly out of my sun, dudes! Oh and we should have such races more often.. and so the OWLYMPIGS were invented and the one and only type of sport was to run while carrying an owl… or if you like even a monkey on your back. That was boring and as Dogenes saw a child once what used his hands to drink from a trough he threw his cup away, drank like the child and the long throw was invented and  added to the owlympigs too…

sorry I have no dog and no barrel, think  that whateveritwasonce and the TP roll will do it…
The dog, the pig and the owl searched for a sponsor and as they found such a guy he wouldn’t pay for the great spectacle…although he was very rich…. Butt  Dogenes said: In a rich mans house there is no where to spit than in his face… what he did and what leads to a fascinating free for all…. and after Dogenes won the battle, the rich man bought new chompers, removed the spit from his face and gave his wonga for the Owlympigs what also got a third discipline: Wrestling.
no picture, my dad is NOT rich and he also refused to be my sponsor… because of  the spit…
So  spit by spit they found more rich guys what paid for that extravaganza and during the time they could add a lot of more type of sports to the Owlympigs. Dogenes the dog was a shy guy, because he wasn’t an Athenian nor a Greek, just a citizen of the world and so the OWLYMPIGS got their name only  from the owl and the  pig.

Why you look sceptic? That’s PURE SCIENCE! Aaaaaand… I’m an OWLYMPIGIAN too and for my practical daemonstration I picked the wrestling…..
I’m Easdysseus the guy who crossed all the seven seas to beat a cyclop… butt not like that wussy once who only beat one… I beat TWO cyclops!

RULES: … BAAH HUMBUG! we can skip that…

IMG_0498….and so the WINTER-OWLYMPIGS were invented

Viola! Done.  The guys are complete in the bucket… ahmmm I mean  in the box, think I will bring them back to the store to get my wonga back…

… and guess what? I will spend this ginormous euros 1.20   for all student’s of my class! That’s a deal, huh? Think it’s enough for a bottle of ketchup to spice you up a little….

That pig was Doggy’s first toy, it lasted 2 days.

  4. We are much smarter from reading this. Thank you, Teacher. The cyclops should have paid better attention in training. They didn’t stand a chance.

    Love and licks,

  11. Thank you for another great lesson! We learned a lot about the Owlympigs! You are a master destuffer and the definite winner of that event!

  12. kolytyi says:

OMG, I’m mightily impressed by such an unbelievably huge amount of expertise and wisdom. It explains easily why men at the ancient Owlympigs raced nekked – they thieved the idea from animals. It is also clear that such a great idea could not been invented by hooomans.
It might be the case (it is only a conjecture and needs further research to provide firm evidence for it) that the Owlympig Games were sponsored by White Bull, because Zeus, at whose sanctuary Owlympigs were held, sometimes appeared in the form of a white bull (to commit adultery – oppps, it’s not for pupil’s ears, sorry). 15. Midwestern Plant Girl says:

    Wow! Fascinating lesson Easy!
I wonder if that was an OWLYMPIGS record for how long it took for those. .um.. (What are those red, wht, blue things anyway??) things to become insides out?

    • I wasn’t in top form, so probably it wasn’t a record… but enough for a gold medal :o) That thingies look scary, no wonder that no one would buy them in 2012 as the owlympigs were in london…it’s better to kill them before they eat our brains :o)

  16. dogdaz says:

We learned our lesson. Thanks for the Owlympigs fun

  17. dollythedoxie says:

Goodness Easy I would hate to see what damage you could do in a long winter like us! Love Dolly

  18. cecilia07 says:

  21. So I’m totally clear about he Olympigs now Easy, thanks to your crystal clear and totally logical explanation.
Although I am still not sure how synchronised swimming ever got included as a ‘sport’…
    Toodle pip!

  22. Misaki says:

You are such a good teacher Easy

  23. Kyla says:

At one point, there was the “unified team” in the Owlympigs. You’re a member of the “disjointed team”, and the only member at that because those grey bears are disrupting your class. It might be time to discipline them and take a piece out of their hide.

    • sadly the grey thingies are “howly” here… mom said that are hers (no wonder that they have a bad behavior)..
I want to kill them since years… but I have no idea for the perfect crime… oh and that are mice :o)

  24. fernerose says:

Hi Easy, I didn’t read all of your post today and really lots of days b/c it is too too much for my one eye to do!!!! What do you do Easy when you can not go out to poop?????

  25. Frankie and Ernie says:

FURST we want to thank you fur that special thingy that you sent to ERNIE… HE loves it.
Second… Our Milkbone Shrub is alive and doing well… we ROTATE our Crops so this year (THANKFULLY) we planted it on the OTHER side of the house and it was pawtected from the Bad wind and Storm. Bumper crop on it this year.

THIRD… we don’t know what kind of Grade you gave your students there… butt THIS was an EXCELLENT LESSON… and we are giving YOU an A+ fur being a SUPER DUPER TEACHER!!! WE loved it. We are in the MODERN WORLD and takin our classes ON LINE with SUPER TEACHER … Mr. EASY RIDER.

  26. Easy, we are so enjoying your Sunday classes!
    Mr Bailey, Hazel & Greta

  27. Oh Easy, I was riveted by your lesson today. I was takin’ notes and I was most fascinated by your destuffin’ lesson ~ I thinks I need to up my game if I’m gonna keep up with you!!
I’m off to see if I can find a victim….
    Ruby ♥

  28. You do such good work Easy! You should have your own University to make sure all doggies have a proper education on the finer things (like deading stuffies)!

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  29. Emmadog says:

That was quite a lesson. I think if you have a barrel, you should have the OWLYMPIGS hop in and try going over Niagara Falls. That used to be a popular thing to do. Well, no one survived, but with what happened here, what’s the difference?

    • Emma that’s a very good idea… I planned to simulate the great ride in a barrel with the tp roll and the whateveritwasonce in our bathroom, but mom refused to flush it down… I’m sore now, that act would be the culmination of my owlympig lesson…

  30. Two French Bulldogs says:

Even the students are shocked by your de-gutting
    Lily & Edward

  31. The OP Pack says:

Wow, that was a great lesson, Easy. Mom said that you are such a good teacher that we need to be your online students. We learned so much today about the Owlympigs. When can we see the next Owlympigs on the TV thingie?

Woos – Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

  32. We had no knowledge about the history of the Olympics. Thank you for explaining it. We think you get a gold in mascot dead-ing.

  33. Easy a great class you have taught this Sunday! The stuffies are in one piece too which makes me happy. You know how I feel about the Beep Nose guys. I think your story about the Owlympigs and how it was invented is fascinating. I think your students were riveted by the teachings today! Nice work Easy!

  34. We are so glad to have a full understanding of the Owlympigs now – and how sponsorship is encouraged 😀

  35. Dalton says:

I always feel so much more knowledgeable once I’ve visited you!

  36. PigLove says:

OMP brother! How did I *not* know about the Owlympigs?! Awesome story – I learned something knew. I’m off to see if I have anyone that wants to learn this now in the Hotel Thompson. Thanks! XOXO – Bacon

  37. Oh, I love a good history lesson, Easy. This was a great story of how the Owlympigs began. You, my friend, are the wrestling champion. Just look at all the beaten opponents you have around your crib!
    *high paws* buddy,

  38. Owlympigs! It all makes sense now. Wow, thanks for explaining, Easy!

  39. Easdysseus, good battle and you are obviously the winner! Well done.

    Sweet William The Scot

  44. Sage says:

Oh, Easy. I bow to you as the bestest teacher of all. I think I’ll begin training for the Owlympigs myself and hope you’ll be my coach. As a start, I’ve got the shredding part perfected.

  45. They need to add cyclops slaying as a sport….lol. I bet the class would agree.

  46. spittythekitty says:

That was waaaaaaaaaay more inneresting than any Sunday school lesson we ever heard of! Easy, is there anything you cannot tear apart? Or do you always win? We think you should add “Demolition Derby” to the Owlympigs and you would get all the medals.

  47. wyatt says:

I always learn sumthing when I come to your blog and that is why I keep coming back, a little bit smarter EVERYDAY! Thanks Easy!
