SEE BEAUTIFUL
with  the golden host of this bloghop: SUGAR THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER
We have house guests:
 b1
They live under the roof of my crib. Every year they come back to spend the summer with me.
 b2
And instead of paying a rent they catch all the flies and mosquitos around my crib.
Aren’t they beautiful? Sadly the flies and the mosquitos they eat have an aftereffect:
bird
that’s not really beautiful and more a case for “Scoop that Poop” butt from chipping come chips…
IMG_0338
… and we pay a fee for street cleaning, so shit can happen…
IMG_0340
To have swallows as house guests means your crib is blessed and swallows are a sign for good luck… probably in coherence with stepping in poo, butt after all good luck is good luck, no ifs not butts, right?
HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY ALL

  2. Yes beautiful indeed. And believe me much less poop tha is left by Aberdeen’s rampant monster seagull population.
    Toodle pip!
    Bertie.

  3. I think I remember you sharing your birdy friends before Easy. They are very cute!

  4. we just had swallows build a nest by our front door (yes – cleaning the poop away was a daily chore especially when the babies hatched) thankfully they all left the nest last week 🙂

  5. You are very lucky indeed Easy, even with all the poop. What really intrigues us is what on earth you are eating/chewing? Looks like it’s adding lipstick to you!

  6. Lynn says:

We’ve got swallows living under our jetty, Easy!! It’s great ….. no mess!! Yeah …. what is that you are chewing on!!

  7. bichonpawz says:

Cute little friends you have there! But, they can make a mess! Nice to meet a friend of Goose’s!!

  8. WOW! Swallows guarding your crib? That’s a most interesting nest they have built – very artistic I’d say….however the poo isn’t all that artistic is it?! Hopefully when you walk out the door you don’t get an “instant shampoo” !!!!!

    Happy Friday
    Hugs, Sammy

    • yes, and just with dirt and some spit! That’s like magic! The worst is, that they shit on the people who pass by and they always complain to my staff… that’s crazy… I know they do a lot of crazy things, but they are totally innocent this time ( at least I hope so)

  9. Midwestern Plant Girl says:

Ah! I see you already have a planter. .. You may need a WAY bigger one to catch the poop. I would love to have swallows by my house. ..

    • sadly they build her nest this time on the edge of the roof and there is no chance to place a thingy for the poop without blocking the pavement :o( but they start to learn to fly so the problem is fixed soon :o)

  10. That was beautiful. We have many at our house but we need more as we still have tons of squitos. You have a wonderful weekend we are off to another hunt test. Maybe we will get a pass.

  11. fredrieka says:

I eat all kinds of poop I would do it for free

Birdies are beautiful indeed. You should see all the birdies I have living in my tree, BUTT there is one family that has made their home in the attic of my house. They busted in through a vent in the side of the house. Butt that’s OK, I can not get in the attic as I can not get a latter and climb up it. Have a beautiful day brother.
    Blessings,
    Goose

    • Oh that’s interesting to have birds on the attic! We had a bat once there what scared my mom nearly to death, because it left the attic and flew through the bedroom :o(

  13. raisingdaisy says:

I love having birdies nest in our yard too, and you’re so lucky to have them right up against your house protecting you from those nasty buggies. That’s an interesting looking nest, it looks so well planned and put together! The nests in our trees are just made of twigs and leaves. Have a fun weekend!

  14. Easy you are a lucky pup to have swallows at your place and the swallow babies are such cute balls of feathery fluff! We have a phoebe that builds a mud nest like that on the front wall that is rock under our porch… we are very familiar with the poop that happens.. 😀 That nest is really a work of art Easy!

  15. We Beaglebratz DUE haf the mosquitos an’flyz an’NO Swallowz – not shure which iz better. Did u find a big stick of lip gloss – u haz lip color now. Don’t furgit tue check out your guest post a bit later this mornin’like in about 3 hourz.
Shiloh, Lord of the Manor an’Diva Shasta

    • They currently learn to fly and when they are ready for lift off, I will send them to you. They will kill all flies and mosquitos in zilch, I’m sure. I had to beat a giant pink snake, I’ve got from Goose, that was her fur on my lips lol

  16. Mumsy's Little Chancy Man says:

We hear poop is good fertilizer sweet Easy so you have a win-win situation at your crib. What is that you are chewing on that is getting all over your mouth? You look like you have on lipstick. lol We tried to figure out what that pink thingy is with no luck. Hugs and nose kisses

  17. Frankie and Ernie says:

EASY….. WE have some Swallows that have decided to live on our porch lights…. one night there were 3 on ONE of them… and trust us… they left a HUGE poop sculpture below THAT light…

  18. Easy, I can attest to having birds at the house is a Beautiful thing…and agree that the bird poop is quite frankly, for the birds. I am glad those two come back every year. They must know that your mom and dad need all the luck they can get! BOL Have a terrierific weekend, my pal.

    • Maybe they will tell them the numbers for the lottery once? that would be great. at least we have a quiet time, because all people change the side of the street before a bomb will land on their head :o)

  19. Hawk aka BrownDog says:

    Hi Y’all!

We have swallows and martins. The martins eat the dragon flies that eat the mosquito eggs. Hummingbirds make good bug catchers too. It’s a balancing act. Strange as it may sound, living in a wildlife preserve has benefits. Bugs here in the mountains drive my Human crazy. At the shore we are bothered by not so much as a tick.

    Y’all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

  20. Whoa! That’s pretty cool Easy. Poop aside, I wish you good luck always! ArOOOO, Stuart

  21. Kyla says:

Just this week at Stuart’s, we discussed the gastronomic qualities of different forms of poo. We don’t have swallows so I couldn’t rate this one, but if you say it’s good I believe you.

  22. Emmadog says:

We don’t allow them to hang out and live under our deck anymore because of their disgusting messes. They are pretty birds, but they must live elsewhere. In Germany, we had to chase them out of the car port as they pooped all over everything. Not good. You are very kind to let them stay!

    • we only removed the empty nest in the garage, the poop ruins the car paint in zilch… and as long as they throw their bombs on the pavement, mom can bear that :o)

  23. Julia M says:

I think they’re simply lovely! Just a pity about the mess :-/

  24. goldenwoofs says:

A Beautiful poop 🙂 from lovely friends. Maybe you can move their home … as an option without hurting them. Happy Seeing Beauty. Golden Woofs

  25. Brian says:

We have some annual visitors here too Easy, but ours are mostly in the trees and bushes.

  26. We love the birds that come back every year, cause then they are like family. Too bad for the poop though.
    hugs
    Mr Bailey, Hazel & Greta

    Pees Es
the ear plug I told you about yesterday, the one I ate on Sunday, Mom was celebrating last evening cause I pooped it out! – finally!

    • That’s great, I’m happe it came back the natural way…. imagine the vet had to remove it… ewww :o( butt wait… works a swallowed earplug like a silencer when you had beans or other “musical” treats?…. and your mom will use it now no longer, right?

  27. harrispen says:

Like you said you have to take the good with the bad. We think the birdies are cute.

    Millie & Walter

  28. I didn’t know that swallows mean your house is blessed! Send some my way please! lol

  29. Swallows are nice. At first, I thought they were bats! They are less nice – plus they would be vampires.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  30. Easy,

Mr Geoff did put you into the pirate story, and you are a pirate!

  31. Oh dude! We had a bad swallow experience. They built a nest right at the front door and then pooped everywhere and kept trying to scare everyone away who approached the door (OK, sometimes that was good). BUTT then they kept coming back year after year. They wore out their welcome!

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  32. We love swallows! We see them at dusk in our huge beautiful Park!

  33. Anything that eats the nasty biters can poop anywhere it wants in our yard!

  34. KB says:

I think that having any kind of bird choose your house to raise their chicks is Beautiful! You’re very lucky!

  35. kolytyi says:

OMG, Easy, what are you licking on? Is that a huge ham-flavoured lollipop or ice cream?
Swallows fly in an incredibly beautiful way, especially 10-15 together in formation – but they have a very ugly voice (and are songbirds!!!).

  36. Amy and Toby says:

Swallows are better than mosquitos and messes can always be hosed off…That’s nice that they return each year!

  37. dogdaz says:

Thank you for identifying the nest for us. Though there are swallows in the area, we do not have any at the house. Messy little birdies it seems. The price you pay for a summer bug squad.

  38. cecilia07 says:

Morning Easy…or afternoon in your neck of the world.
What a most beautiful TM,SB post. We didn’t know about swallows being good luck!
You are twice blessed they are there to give you luck and you are lucky they are there.
    Hugs madi your bfff

  39. Swallows are worth the trade off! They make the most incredible nests don’t they?

  40. Can you come over for a poop feast? We have a big covered porch with at least six barn swallow nests.

  41. Nylabluesmum says:

Yer Swallowz are so cute! At leest dey eatz bugz n stuff…we haz to feed da Pidjunz n Mournin Dovez n Sparrowz n blackbirdz n dey are poopie n nott do anyfing fer dere upkeep…well dey DO keepz me companee when me out in Condo n dey do make Mum laff so maybee dey iz doing sumfing guud!!! 😉
    Lub Nylablue n Sherriellen Mum too ❤ ❤ ❤

  42. Sage says:

Darn, Easy. You need to send some of those swallows my way. I bet they poop less than these noisy crows that live here all summer long. AND, we could use some of that good luck!

  43. DailyMusings says:

love those swallows- poop… not so much.:-D

  44. Misaki says:

    What lovely houseguests you have:-)

  45. pawedblog says:

Aww well your house is blessed with good luck isn’t it, Easy? It has you in it!… so those swallows are definitely doing their job I say!
    Hugs, Carrie and Pups x

  46. What great houseguests! They pay rent in mosquito-eating, though they don’t quite clean up after themselves. At our house, we have bats and dragonflies to eat mosquitos but I think we could use a few more (bats and dragonflies) to keep up with the number of mosquitos we’ve seen this year.

–Wags (and purrs) from Life with Dogs and Cats

  47. rottwlrmom says:

A little Swallow poop is worth getting rid of flies and mosquitoes!

  48. They are so beautiful and eat nasty blood-suckers so I guess a little poop can be overlooked…lol.
