Dear Blogville,

you wouldn’t believe what happened the last evening:

Suddenly  two dogs  appeared  in front of my back yard . They were thirsty and hungry and they couldn’t find the way back to their crib. I hope. And I don’t hope that someone abandoned or dumped them. They wore no collar, so we had no clue about the owner.
Mom brought a bowl with water and some food. But the two tramps were very shy and anxious. They showed their teeth and growled. Mom placed the bowl and the food on the floor and then she and my dad were waiting in a distance.

They ate something and they used the waterbowl. Our neighbors came and some said they saw the dogs wandering around  in the early afternoon too ( Sh*T! and why they did NOTHING?!)
First we  called the police. Sadly  the police office was closed since 5 pm. That means that nothing has to happen after 5 pm here. Great, huh? A call at the headquarters of the police was unsuccessful too, they said they have no information about missing dogs. All vet offices around us were closed too, so we had no chance that anybody could check their chip to find the owner.  And we couldn’t call a shelter,  we have none around. The last closed in 2012. Something like animal control is also not available here, the common way is to call the police or the mayor… or to do nothing….Maaaaaaan, vive la france!
Then we called our mayor. He sent Gil, who works for our village. He came with his van and Gil and my dad  tried to catch the dogs. Unfortunately they escaped. Dad and Gil jumped in the van to follow the dogs, but  they lost their trace in a forrest near our village.
I hope they will find the way home and nothing will happen to them. The worst is,  french car drivers are super  dangerous and they have no sense for appropriate speed. And unfortunately we have a lot of little sheeps here and view  days ago some sheeps were hurted. Some people are very quick when it comes to suspicions. It’s easy to blame it on the dogs….
We will call the vet’s in our area today, maybe they have some informations and maybe the dogs  come back to my crib and this time the “dog catchers” will be smarter.
I was as good as the whole pot of gold, I only ate dad’s pillow as my mom locked me in my bedroom. Therefore I will get a small gift for being a nice guy.

May St. Patrick and the luck of the irish be with this two dogs… and may he pinch those in the ass who do nothing to help other peeps and pets!

they had no St. Patrick costume here, but the idea is to wear GREEN, right?

Oh Easy that is terrible and having no one to call after 5pm.. They don’t look super skinny, so lets hope they have a home. They do look lovely doggies.. Keep us posted if you hear any news. Happy Paddy’s Day xxxxxxoxxxx

    Mollie and Alfie

  2. Easy good for you and your Mom and Dad trying very hard to help those poor lost doggies find their way home….maybe today the vet might know something? I hope they have a home though and weren’t dumped. As for you in your Saint Patrick’s Day frog outfit….yes it’s green but it’s just a bit SCARY too!!! EEEEEEK!!!!

    Hugs, Sammy O’Kimmell

    • I hope they only escaped somewhere and found the way back. Maybe Gil or the mayor has some (good) news today.
yes, the frog-thingy looks a little odd, but no one will pinch me in my butt today LOL

  3. How sad that you haven’t been able to catch the poor things. The worry is, what do you do if you do catch them? If they don’t have chips and there isn’t a shelter? They don’t look like the usual hunting dogs you get in France – sadly there is a rash of those kicked out at the end of the hunting season. Do hope you and the mayor manage to sort something out.

    • Gil said, the dogs could stay at his place till we find the owner or till we will find a solution ( he is a very nice guy).
I really hope for a happy end for the two nordic pups.

  4. fozziemum says:

Bravo to your mum and dad and Gil Easy ..what a shame you have no services to help!! if they had been attacking sheep you would see it on them…they are clean and have no blood on them so I think they may be in the clear..we lost sheep to dogs and they would have been very bloody because we saw what they is so sad that some places have so little regard for welfare of the most vulnerable ..paws crossed these pups find their homes (even though I wonder at their owners) and poo on the neighbours who saw them and just did nothing in the daytime. We send the luck of the Blarney stone to them and hugs and a super paw pat to you and your pawrents! Fozziemum xxx

    • I agree, they would be red with blood when they had attacked the sheeps. but some people are just incurable… I hope for a happy end. I was speechless yesterday as I heard the recorded message of the police office. Maybe even the bad guys in france enjoy an easy sunday and do their crime just from monday to friday?

  5. I never heard of the police department being closed! I have been a city dog for too long, I guess…. I am happy that even though they didn’t catch the dogs, your parents made somebody aware of them. I hope they can find their homes (or new homes) soon.

    Love and licks,

    • I hope so, Cupcake. We were speechless yesterday as we heard the recorded message of the police office. I hope no one had an accident last night and had to wait till they open their office today.

  6. Emma says:

That is so sad for those two pups. So if the police is closed, what do you do if there is a crime…never heard of the police being closed.

    • Maybe they have a special crime-time from monday to friday? And all the criminals enjoy an easy sunday? We were puzzled too as we heard the recorded message of the police office :o)

  7. At least your mom and dad tried Easy. Hopefully all will turn out. Hope that pillow didn’t give you a tummy ache. Happy St. Patty’s! You are not the prettiest frog though, you are a much prettier dog!

  8. cecilia07 says:

It also makes us very sad to think the pups have been abandoned; however, having no collars sure makes it sound that way. Your peeps and Gil did all they could do and we send them a big hug for their efforts. Thank goodness you were not out in your yard ’cause I’m purrty sure you would have tried to make new friends and I don’t think they were interested in that.

What a great green leprechaun!! We like your new Irish prayer.
I’m wearing my green eyes today
    Hugs madi your bfff

    • I hope they have a home and are back at home now. We got no new informations, so maybe they are back in their crib.
I wish I had green eyes, wow that would be great!

  9. How kind of mum and dad. We hope they are found and taken care of.
Have a marvellous Monday and Happy St Patrick’s Day Easy to you and all your family and may the luck of the Irish be with you and with those dogs.
    Best wishes Molly

  10. DailyMusings says:

At least you know they had something to drink and eat- maybe they will come around again. They certainly were beautiful dogs. They will have the luck of the Irish today I hope and stay safe.

  11. fredrieka says:

Oh Easy I do not know what would have happened to me if no one found me. I was skin and bones already.. so sad

    • It is really sad. I hope for a happy end and I’m so happy that you found a wonderful home. That’s much better than a pot of leprechaun-gold :o)

      • fredrieka says:

it is better than a pot of gold.. love is gold.. No shelters, I just do not understand that. We have county shelters, city shelters, private shelters..

      • the private (non-killing) shelter had to close in 2012, we only have one 100km away, so our council has to manage such problems. It’s sad that no one here accepts the liability.

  12. Goose says:

Oh Easy this is so sad. I am glad that you and and your staff are there to keep an eye out. I also no robbers or bad people read this to find out your village is wide open to their shiftiness after 5pm.

  13. We sure hope those guys will be OK. At least they seem to be sticking together.

Hap-Pee St. Paddy’s Day to ya!

  14. How anxiety provoking. No wonder you ate Dad’s pillow. I hope the poor two dogs will be OK.

  15. They seem very bonded to each other. Hope they are OK and this ends well. Out here in the boonies/country/rural Missouri people just let their dogs run free because they think dogs in the country aren’t happy unless they are running loose… 😯 Happy St. Pat’s to you!

    • I think they are a couple and life together. Mom liked that the she-dog was the boss (yeah, dream on, mom). I hope for a happy end and maybe St. Patrick is with them today. Have a super green monday!

  16. Oh easy I hope those dogs find there way back home. They look like they have been well cared for. Thank you for helping out when others didn’t. You were a good boy only chewing on dad’s pillow. You crack me up and yes you should get a gift for it. Thanks for finding gman and sand spring on FB. I sent Katty a friend request too and suggested other bloggers also. Don’t know if ya saw that I Norman would really bury eggs. I would come out of hen house give them all a duck egg Norman would go to the garden and bury his and lay there and growl if anyone would come by he would then dig it up a day later and eat it. He was my egg sucking dog forsure.

    • I think (and hope) they only escaped somewhere and they are back now. We called the mayor today, they had no news, so I think they are back at home. Maybe Norman thought he can hatch some chicken with the buried eggs? Mom did that too as she was a puppy. She placed an egg in her grampys bed. But she got no chicklet, just a mess :o)

  17. that would be sad if someone dumped them – they look like like pedigree Siberian huskies. You could perhaps call the local radio station and ask them to jut put a message out about them

  18. PigLove says:

oooh that’s horrible. I hope the find their home soon. Poor guys although I admit that black/white kind of scared me with his grin. Shivers. Hopefully all will be better today for them. And I love your green outfit. Maybe looking like Kermit you can get my Miss Piggy and then tell your sweet nothings about this oinker? Just a thought brother. XOXO – Bacon

    • The black/white guy was really a little scary, he showed mom his teeth. But the ginger-girl was the boss (matriarchy-the dream of my mom lol) I hope for a happy end.
I will try to get Miss Piggy for you, but that’s not easy to travel through france in a frog-outfit :o)

      • PigLove says:

Snorts brother. It’s the trying that counts. I do hope the wondering pups find their home. The poor guys. XOXO – Bacon

  19. Mental Mama says:

Such a good mom you have, setting out food and water for your visitors.

  20. Brian says:

I sure hope those sweeties will be okay. Happy St. Patrick’s Day Easy!

  21. Lavinia says:

Police station closes at 5??? In fact…Police station closes???????? Poor people and poor doggies. I hope their owners will find them soon.

  22. OwyheeStar says:

What a terrible event. I can see where the nerves would cause you to eat Dad’s pillow. You would think if the owners were of the responsible sort they would have been trying to find the lost kids. OMG What a fiasco. I hope it turns out well for them.

    • By now no one has an information about missing dogs. neither the police (yes they are open today, but only to 5pm lol), nor the vets, nor the local radio station or our mayor. Maybe that’s a good sign that the dogs are back at home. I hope.

  23. Will and Eko says:

Those pups were lucky to find your caring staff in the first place. Hope things turn out ok for them.

  24. Kuruk says:

Oh nooowoowoooooo! My French snow pup cousins are lost! I send all my St. Paddy’s day luck to them! Thanks Easy fur helping them!

  25. So sad about those dogs – they look well taken care of, at least in the pics, so hopefully their owner finds them soon. Happy St. Paddy’s to you too Easy!

  26. Kyla says:

Maybe those two dogs couldn’t bark in French. I’ve heard that the French (mostly in Paris) aren’t too friendly if you can’t bark in French.

    • maybe Mark Twain was right: “In Paris they just simply opened their eyes and stared when we spoke to them in French! We never did succeed in making those idiots understand their own language.”
Happy St. Patricks Day to you

  27. catfromhell says:

Poor doggies! Yous guys is like us with no dog catchers or places to take strays.

    • I hope we can change things like that, it’s not easy to manage problems when the police has special “crime-times” :o) Paws are crossed for the pups. Happy St. Patricks day to you!

  28. fernerose says:

I never see any stray dogs now!! It has been years!!

  29. Misaki says:

I hope they find their way back home xx

  30. Easy that is awful. It just breaks my heart. I can’t imagine that no one tried to help and those poor dogs, if they were just dumped, it is unthinkable! Thank you for having such a caring heart, I pray the outcome of this story is a good one! Love, Caren

    • I hope all went well for this pups. We were totally disappointed that so much people came, looked at the dogs, awwed and owwed and they all did nothing. It was like a zoo. Some people are really just “arrrgh!”

  31. kolytyi says:

Oh, the two pups seem to be beginner strayers. I hope this means that they have a nearby home and have found their way back. Still no news about them?

  32. I have crossed my paws and said some Irish blessings for those two pooches. Sad. You’re the best to help them. Please let us know what happens.

    roo. stu.

  33. What concerns me is the dogs had no collars or ID and they weren’t friendly. They weren’t hungry, looked healthy and probably not missing long. My sense is they were dumped and probably not been treated well. Had there been a shelter, they might have gone there but they could have come from a distance away and then dumped. Responsible pet owners do nor let pets roam without ID and if lost will put the word out immediately. My hope is someone adopts them and they’ll probably need lots of love and proper training.

    • I hope for a happy end for the two pups. They were very anxious and shy, who knows what kind of experiences they made while wandering around. It’s a bad thing to let dogs out without ID, so I hope they only ran away from their house. Hope we will get good news about this dogs.

  34. More like a “kick in the ass” for those who did nothing to help those doggies, Easy. I mean, WTD?!? Those poor things are probably hungry and thirsty. I am so glad your mom and dad tried to help them. Perfect for you too since you got to destroy a pillow. I sure hope someone can catch them and bring them to safety, especially since you say those Frenchies cannot drive a lick!
    Happy St. Paddy’s Day.

  35. Oh, one of them looks so much like Molly. Run to the nice people doggies – they won’t hurtie you! May the luck of the Irish run with them until safe.
Thanks Easy, mum and dad for trying to help.
And paws up for such a dramatic party outfit

  36. We hope that the doggies have found their way home Easy. so good of your Mom & Dad to try to help them. We sometimes get doggies running around our place. It makes us sad that their owners don’t care if they are running all over.
    Mr Bailey, Hazel & Greta
and oh yes, we love the green outfit too!

  37. Frankie and Ernie says:

Easy…. WE give your mom and dad EIGHT Paws UP fur doing what they did fur the two strangers. THAT was very KIND and SWEET and LOVING of them to TRY and help them find a safe place… and to be sure that they were not hungry or thirsty.
We give your Mom and Dad GOLD STARS and A++++’s fur the fine effort.
AND we give YOU a Gold Star and an A+ fur only … FLUFFIN your Dad’s Pillow while all the excitement was going on.
Happy St. Paddy’s Day to YOU and the rest of your Crib Crew Too.

  38. Sarge says:

Wow, I am casting a big, nasty, rotten curse on those bad owners and peeps! What pretty pooches and I thank your peeps for trying to help. Luck O’ The Irish to those poor dogs and hoping they find a loving home.
    Grr and Woof,
    Sarge, O’Furiend

  39. harrispen says:

We’re happy that your pawrents gave it a try to catch the dogs. Sometimes they can be so scared. We hope they find their way home.

    Millie & Walter

  40. The OP Pack says:

Those two lost pups look a lot like our kind. If that is the case, they could be many miles off from their cribs. We can run long distances in no time at all. We hope they will be safe and maybe find their owners.

Thank you for trying to help them.

Happy St. Paddy’s Day from all of us.

    Woos – O’Phantom, O’Ciara, and O’Lightning

  41. Awww poor doggies. Whee are sending all our love and luck to help them and good on your hoomans for trying their best. Whee hope those doggies find their way home soon.

    Happy St Patrick’s Day

    Nacho, Noah, Buddy & Basil

  42. Two French Bulldogs says:

Paws crossed for those two pups
    Happy St. Patrick’s Day
    Lily & Edward

  43. Oh Easy, this makes me very very sad…I’m so sorry abouts these two beautiful doggies abandoned and alone. I am very happy that your peeps are such FABulous people and did what all peeps should do (unlike the furst set of peeps that did nothing! grrr!!)
I will send Ma’s luck of the Irish their way, and drink a beers for each of them! hehehe
Seriously, I will keep my paws crossed that they are safe and that they will find a good loving home to call their own…
I thinks you deserve a big ole steak for bein’ locked in your peeps room and not leavin’ a ‘present’…hehehe
Happy Happy Happy St. Patrick’s Day Easy!
    Ruby ♥

    • I agree with you Ruby. Hope St. Patrick will show them the way back to their crib. It makes me sad when people do nothing to help animals. Hope St. Pat will give them a pot of coal!

  44. tylersat99 says:

Sorry you couldn’t find a place for the dogs to stay, Easy but at least they got a bite of food and water. Happy St. Patrick’s Day:)

  45. boscocat says:

I hope the wolfs can get home safe. Fozziemum is right, our police is 24/7 which means they get to eat 24 donuts 7 days a week – better than wonga 🙂

    • O hope so, Maurice. Maybe we should offer our police free donuts and free beer too? Sadly my mom was the only one who laughed hysterically as she heard the recorded message. All other people accepted it, seems that’s actually the common procedere here :o)

      • boscocat says:

MOL 🙂 reminds me of a time when my mum was with a super fellow crime fighter and had been called to an Alaskan malamute on a nipping rampage.. They thought they had things in the bag and managed to get it in the back seat of the car so they could call the ranger… Then when they went to get back in, Cujo went nuts and starting ripping the seats to bits .. No Eskimo pies that night

  46. Dalton says:

Glad you were so well behaved while your mum and dad tried to rescue these two!!

  47. Hi Easy,
I really do hope that you will have an update on the missing doggies soon, they look like they are taken care of and are just lost, what were they like with your Peeps? Were they friendly dogs? It is a shame that you couldn’t have played with them, I’m sure that you would have enjoyed it! Great adventures happening with you guys! Keep us all updated! Love and Hugs from your puggy pal Frank xxxxx

    • They were not really friendly, they showed their teeth and growled. Maybe they made bad experiences with people….but I hope they found the way home. I hope we will get some new informations and may it be good news…

  48. Lee says:

Hi Easy hope you had a great green day. Sounds like those two doggies need a nice home. Maybe they will have some Irish luck and find one. My police station is open all the time but to get them to do something is another story. I had my car broken into and they said there was no evidence yet three others on my street the same night and they don’t care to try and find the criminal doing the break ins.
I got my knickers out for tomorrow.
    Sweet William The Scot

    • I wish all would get help when they need it. It’s so sad to be alone. A break in in a car is an awful thing, first you have the trouble with a damaged car and later you have the trouble with the insurance.

  49. That’s just awful, Easy. They look so sad and neglected. It is good to know that there are good folk like your mom and dad that care enough and not just chase them out them away.

  50. Howdy Easy, oh how sad. We hope these two doggies find their way home or at least get picked up and helped to find another loving home. We send thanks to your peeps for trying to help. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
