FREAKY FRIDAY
Today I was on a geocache-hunt. We picked a cache named Enclos de Perret / GC3QJ0Y . We drove to Perret, a small village in the middle of nowhere what has just 179 noses. As we arrived in Perret it became dark as in the ass of a salamander and first I thought we got lost and landed in Sleepy Hollow.
Perret could be the perfect scene for a horror-movie or a scary story.
Even the tree we saw near the church was the same as they had in Sleepy Hollow, just the headless Horseman was not at home, he was probably busy but my mom was there and she is mostly headless too.
After visiting the war memorial we went to the church of St. Nicodéme, where the cache was hidden. Mom found it immediately, no wonder there are not much things you can’t do wrong even when you are my mom.
Then we started our sightseeing tour. It lasts exactly 5 minutes, till I peed on every fence and every door. At last mom wanted to see the cemetery. She is totally morbid and as crazy as a box of frogs. Always when she is on a new place she visits the cemetery, to check out, if she would like to be buried there… just in case of a suddenly death. Say no more….
Directly at the cemetery was a small hotel (owner Norman Bat’s Momma), where you can stay in “rooms with a view”. Quasi The Overlook Hotel. I’m not sure if I would like to sleep in Sleepy Hollow…
Dogs aren’t allowed at the cemetery, so I supervised her from outside. If you ask me, I wouldn’t like to be buried on this graveyard… it was very scary with all the old tombstones what are there for centuries and as my mom discovered an ole open crypt ( would someone or someTHING try to come in or out?) she galumphed off immediately….
We decided to drive home, because of the bad weather and before we left Sleepy Hollow Perret I was sleepy too and dirty and wet but satisfied.
The ride back to my crib was a little adventurous, sun changed with rain and hail and it was dark and bright within minutes. That’s common for Brittany, you can get all seasons together on one day.
As we saw the limits of my Kraal a hailstorm started and we were glad as we landed in my crib.
.
.
HAVE A FABULOUS FRIDAY ALL
Mom voudrait voir un photograph de l’église s’il te plaît!
Nous n’avons jamais été en France!
our photos of the church are more photo-bombs, because of the bad weather. but they have some better photos here: http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC3QJ0Y_enclos-de-perret
I hope the Eurostar will change the rules, so you could come to visit France ( and I could visit the UK) :o)
Nous n’avons jamais visité La France! Mom était à Paris à 2011.
Elle a acheté le livre Le Papillon. En francais! Et maintenant elle veut que nous lisons avec elle. Aide-nous!
I know the Purrime Ministerettes are always busy but if you have some minutes, you should read the book with your mom, it’s great :o)
Mom readed long time ago, back in high school, also in French.
Sometimes we reading da Italian. You understandings that?
Sadly not, but my dad learnt some words once as he was a puppy. They had builders from Italy in the neighborhood. His pawrents were not amused about the words he picked up :o)
Ti faccio un culo così?!
That words?!
hahahahaha yes…. and he learnt a very naughty song too :o)
Good to see you braving the weather and ghosts Easy. I’m sure the village looks much better in the sun – remember what that truly feels like?
I’m not sure if they have sun there. It’s in a valley with a lot of woods around. Probably Mom is right with her wilde guessing about vampires :o)
Just seen Only Lovers Left Alive – you should watch that before going to scary places cos it makes you laugh rather than hide 😉
I will watch it, sounds funny and I like Tilda Swinton :o)
What a wonderful adventure! I like cemeteries too- especially old ones. I laughed out loud about the hotel being owned by Norman Bates’ mother- that was a good one!! 🙂
Amazing how the weather can change like that. Thanks for sharing your trip Easy- I loved every minute of it!
I had fun too, sadly my mom is a chicken and left this place :o) But it was interesting, I wish this old stones could talk :o)
LOL the hotel owner was Norman Bat’s Momma. Kind of did look like a spooky place Easy. Lucky you were geocaching in the daytime. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
That’s true Molly. I wouldn’t visit this village by night. ( not without my garlick-necklace)
I *knew* your mom and my mom were related! I just *knew* it. My mom never passes up the opportunity to go cemetery hopping – crazy humans they are. She thinks they are comforting – okay whatever mom. Great pics brother – looks like ya’ll had a great time. XOXO – Bacon
Maybe there was something in the water in the 80s? Or the tons of Aquanet they used is the reason? Brother that was a scary place. Honestly. (and I bet in this ole crypt was a clown)
Oh freaky! A clown!? You could be right about the Aquanet. I think I’ve seen some around here. XOXO – Bacon
Is Aquanet still alive? wow…. I thought it’s banned for destroying the ozone layer :o)
Snorts. Leave it to my humans to destroy the earth. XOXO – Bacon
WELL Easy that is like living in Iowa, cos yesterday we had a snow thunderstorm, hail, rain and sun all in about 3 hours. We love looking at yours pictures, my mom is vicariously living through them. A long time ago before us, she lived in Germany so she sees some similarities in your pic’s..she lived in a little village and right by a cemetery with a big man statue. She had to walk by him everyday to go to the Post and she always thought one day he would come alive and grab her…..my mom has been crazy for a long time apparently.
Stella Rose
Stella Rose that can happen. I’ve heard from Mr. King about a statue what came down from the pedestal and tried to eat people. I’m glad your momma is in Iowa now and this big man statue is far away :o)
Bwwaaahahahaha !!! Easy, you and Mum always have way too much fun! Hope Dad still has his whole finger We were afraid Mum might have been searching for a place to lay the little piece to rest if it did not want to stay attached to Dad. Smoochies, Savvy
hahahaha it seems that the part of his finger will grow on. It’s crazy how important such a pointer is, specially when you wear pants with buttons :o) But you’re right, that scary cemetery could be a perfect place for dad’s finger :o)
Sounds like you had quite a day! Brittany is beautiful. We hope to be in France this summer but we’ll be near Dijon.
janet
It is :o) And Dijon is a beautiful city too.The have great wines there and the mustard is very famous ( the black currant mustard is the best!)
Yes, that church does have a resemblance to the Old Dutch Church in Sleepy Hollow (He says). He grew up four towns away from Sleepy Hollow and saw that church a lot because He went up route 9 a lot. Four towns away from Sleepy Hollow and visited there? I’m starting to see the light about Him and it explains a lot.
hahahah yes. The whole dark village looked a little like Sleepy Hollow. Many houses are abandoned and ruinious and there was not one soul on the street. Maybe they only come out by night… but then it is Salem’s Lot :o)
I love a drudge through an old cemetery myself, Easy…very barve of you to watch out from safe over there.. :o)
hahaha yes, better safe than sorry :o)
we are just hanging out for spring to arrive and for all the mud to dry up so we can go geocaching again. We only just started it at the end of last summer and loved it!
Me too :o) Gizmo told me about geocaching last year and I think that’s something what we can do all together :o)
What a cool place! And yes it does look like a spooky movie could be filmed there
Lily & Edward
Absolutely :o) There was no one on the steet, no biped, no dog, no cat. Juts me, the staff and the wind :o)
Thank you for making this adventure. I loved it as you knew I would. Cliff’s famous ancestral line leads by to the Perret ………it was a fun vicarious adventure through your eyes Easy. I hope there were not fleas of the Perret fleeing the haunted-looking estate/township. Well it was super great!
It was scary but very interesting. We found out that a part of this family lived on another place around my area, maybe there we will find a new trace :o)
Oooh very cool. Awesome…….. :O)
WE think that place was Creepy and SCARY… butt our MOM thinks it is Charming and Lovely… WHAT A NUT;;; Like your mom and the Box of Frogs…
Glad that you found the Find..
WOW that was some INTERESTING weather… not just Boring old Rain or same old same old… SNOW… Exciting Changes.
It was more scary than lovely, we dogs can smell that. (humans can’t) Honestly boys, this place needs a garlick-necklace for efurrybuddy :o)
Glad you kept your head, literally!
hahaha, yes :o) and that was not easy. Fortunately we visited this place at daylight :o)
Very cool…I would enjoy everything about it…looks like a pawsome trip indeed!!!! Talk about weather…We had tornado sirens blast off here last night…no fun being huddled in the tub…SCARY!!!! So glad you’re home safe, after a long journey naps are mandatory!!!! Happy snoozing friend…love your humor!!!!
Oh a tornado is really scary, be careful and stay safe as best as you can. It was a great trip butt I was really dogtired as we were back in my crib :o)
Those places are spooky cool sometimes, unless things go bump in the night!
You’re right Brian. Fortunately we had not to spend the night there and the Elephant Skater was fast enough to run away from this place :o)
Cool slideshow Easy! The darkness of the ass of the salamander and the hail no fun though! I hate hail. Just about every vehicle we have owned has gotten hailed on. Mother Nature could just do away with hail, tornadoes and ice storms thank you very much. Open crypt is creepy.. 😯 I think the small village is cute.. 🙂
Me too. The worst is, that by now every car we had got a hail-shower, that’s like a curse. The cemetery was really scary, fortunately we were not there on Halloween :o)
Another geocaching adventure! You guys always have so much fun. I love that photo of you peeking over the wall with your Dad 🙂
Me too :o) I was glad to be outside of this scary cemetery :o)
Creepy but fun day, I guess.
yes :o) I like to discover new places and new smells :o)
Ooohhh What a neat looking place to visit, but a bit creepy at the same time. good job finding the treasure, we still have yet to go geocacheing, maybe this spring.
hugs
Mr Bailey, Hazel & Greta
Oh you should try it, it’s really fun :o) But if you visit such a place like me, better wear a garlick necklace :o)
That cache is jam packed with stuff. Mom and I only ever found tiny ones. That one looks like FUN! I hope when the snow goes away, Mom and I can go geocaching (and sight-peeing). 🙂
Love and licks,
Cupcake
I bet there are big caches around your area too, Cupcake. Geocaching is a nice way to discover new places :o)
Despite the weather, it sounds like it was a great trip – we have to get Mom to try geocaching too. BTW, Mom just cracks up at all your similes:)
Woos – Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
Oh I bet with you she wouldn’t need a GPS-thingy, you would find all caches only with your nose :o)
Looks like you had a grand adventure with your parents followed by a good nap. Sounds like a great day Easy!
Marty
It was a super adventure. I bet you would like this village, there are 87 mice or more in this ole houses :o)
ohh yeah! I was hunting Da Bird today! Mice would be even better!
I wish I could hunt Da Bird too, but I can’t climb on trees :o)
hahahaha
What a fabulous old village! Just wonderful. I bet the tomb stones date back a long way! 🙂
Mom found some from 1700-something, sadly she couldn’t read the writing. Imagine this old stones could talk…wow that would be great :o)
Mum and I would have a ball together Easy!! I do love a creepy cemetery..and the Overlook hotel is surely one place to grab a drink and lose your mind!! perhaps even scarier would be the ‘Salamanders Ass Hotel’ …goodness me …at least you got to relax in the Elephant Skater while dad negotiated the four seasons in one minute!! always a fun day out with you my friend 🙂 hugs Fozziemum xxx
I bet you would :o) That was a scary place there, but very interesting :o) Fortunately Norm’s mom was not at home and we had a chance to escape before we had to live there forever and ever … bet the scary twins live there too :o)
Argggghhh yes…REDRUM Easy……spooky indeed !! 🙂
Sounds like a great day out Easy,xx Speedy
It was thrilling but interesting :o) Geocaching is a nice thingy :o)
ass of a salamander, you say that one more time I am going to pee my pants. Lovely adventure that is one I would of went on with you, I love all that old scary stuff. I love the hullo photo and sitepeeing. You are too clever. You were in my dream Easy last night, I don’t know if you were here with me or I was over there but we were together with my gang and all you guys did was run chase run, it was a really cool dream. Take care my friend.
Oh that would be great when we could discover such places together :o) You really should visit me, first you could rock the next show and later we could rock scary places :o)
LOL easy I must confess: i too love to visit cemetaries and check out the scenery & say “Hello” to the inhabitants; mostly dead or somewhat alive….i find them peaceful places for the most part…now an open crypt would intrigue & scare me…..
i would be looking for the entrance or exit sign for sure!!!
Perret DOES look ALOT like tV’s ‘Sleep Hollow’…now that is a great show!!! Even Nylablue likes to watch it…
Your weather alot like ours; just wait 10 minutes & something else will happen 😉
Much love from Sherri-Ellen & Nylablue too xoxoxo
The worst was that we saw no soul there. Only my staff and me, ok, and the Elephant Skater. Bet the come out by night LOL
Oh Easy I think I’m the last person in the world to comment on this bloggy but in my defense (your honor) I am not getting notices of your blog posts! Imagine that! What’s with this WordPress place that they forget to send me notes that my favorite Weimie has posted??? Well, I must say your geocache adventure was QUITE interesting except for the cemetery part. No thanks. My time will come but not until then will I visit one! My Mom says Perret looks like a pretty place though. Hmm….I wonder if you thought so?!?!
Hugs, Sammy
Sometimes the WP-gremlin is drunken, I have to pick the posts by paw since weeks, because they disappear from my reader.
The village was a scary place and my mom was yellow. But as we entered my crib she was on top again and next time we will visit the next scary place. She is a nut :o)
My Mom is likewise a nut…..but she’s my Mom so I have to say officially that I LIKE nuts!!! (including your Mom). 🙂
Sam
Sweet Easy you sure some interesting things on your geocache-hunts and your sightseeing trips. We enjoyed all those pictures, even the cemetery. Sounds like you have sudden weather changes there like we do here. We are very happy to know you landed safely back at your crib. Hugs and nose kisses
Me too :o) that was an adventure. I hope next time we will visit a friendly place or I better buy a garlick-necklace :o)
If you did see a ‘soul’ there you might run from the Cemetary in a big hurry….I am very confident during daylite hours to visit cemetaries but not so brave at nite….lol….
I wonder where your Mum & Dad will take you next?
Love Sherri-Ellen & Nylablue xoxoxo
Me too Nylablue, I bet it’s another scary place :o)
I would have loved to join you on this adventure since I’m as crazy as a box of frogs like your mom! It so happens I live 20 minutes from the real Sleepy Hollow cemetery and it’s not scary at all but huge, gorgeous and fascinating. I’ve blogged about it at my other blog. In the photo of the church, are those moisture spots or ghost orbs???
oh wow you have interesting places in your neighborhood :o) we had only raindrops on the cam… but wait… I’m not sure :o)
Cool place to visit. Thanks for taking us with you.
It was cool but verty scary. I hope next time we will have some sun :o)
You and your dad should have put sheets over yourselves to scare your mum when she came back from the graveyard, BOL!
Clowie I think you could hear her screaming up to your place , that’s for sure :o) and a simple “Boo!” had killed her :o)
Y’all live in such a pretty area! Everything over here is so new compared to where you are, and it all pretty well looks the same here. I just can’t even wrap my head around all of the beautiful history you’re surrounded by.
Sadly even the daily life here is sometimes more “historic” that’s the not so good part, when you live in “ole europe” :o)
At least I know when I win the lottery that if I want to go abroad and visit somewhere really lovely I could have the handsomest silver/gray tour guide. 🙂
Oh that would be great, I hope Fortuna or the lottery-guy will pick your numbers :o)
Hey, Easy. We found a geo-cache out at my favorite haunt–1000 acres–and wasn’t even looking!
Mom likes old graveyards too–what’s up with that?
I think all Mom’s are crazy, ole graveyards are scary :o) To find a geocache without looking for it that’s great. We once looked for one and found…. nothing LOL
Wow easy you sure did get every kind of weather on your trip. My nanny loves visiting graveyards too
I don’t know why a lot of girls love this places… ok, there are bones, but it’s scary and they are hard to get :o)
hello easy its dennis the vizsla dog hay gitting away frum that open crypt wile the sun wuz stil shining wuz probly a gud ideea!!! yoo never no wot mite rise owt of a crypt wunse the dark comes owt!!! ok bye
I agree Dennis, I saw a lot of movies in TV what showed me what can happen at night :o) I was glad dogs aren’t allowed at this place :o)
Easy, I am glad you gotted out of there alive, my friend. Don’t let your Mommy take you to such scary places! Besides, those caches would be more fun if they had, you know, some treats or something in them. They look like all the stuffs inside is boring and not tasty.
That’s true Spitty, there is only boring stuff inside. Maybe the most interesting things are hidden in open crypts?
That’s too creepy Easy.. Shame you didn’t see Jonny Depp..BOL.. We have had some super weird weather, we have had some sun 🙂 xxoxxxx
Mollie and Alfie
ha, good poitn! now I know why my mom would like to see this place. I hope Johnny wasn’t inside of that scary hotel LOL
Well done on your find, looks like you had a fun day!!
yes, Dalton it was funny :o) but scary too, hope next time we will search for a cache in a pet store or in a sausage factory :o)
OO the sossidge factory would be good!!
Hey Easy I missed your Geo-hunt on Friday….looks like a good time was had by all until the rains came.
Hugs madi your bfff
I hope your pawrents spend the weekend on a better place than mine, Madi hahahaha
Easy, my mom is a morbid as yours. She would love to visit old cemeteries looking for ghouls and ghosts and all manner of scary story. Humans are weird. It sounds like you had a good enough time though…getting to pee everywhere is always a highlight of one’s day.
*high paw* buddy,
Oz
I agree with you, Oz. First they want to see the scaaaaaariest things and then they are the first who scream “YIIIIKES!” and run away :lo)
First of all, great shots!! I love the blue color of the sky on your pics.
Second is is Norman Bate or Bat? Just wondering if there’s another Norman
It’s norman Bates, the mom forgot the “e” ( maybe her hands where still shaking with fear) LOL
Okay, I’m wondering how you know how dark it is in the rear end of a salamander……….lol
I bet that’s a really dark place, except it is a fire slamander LOL
Just wanted to let you know that I just nominated you for the SUNSHINE AWARD today! http://nikitaland.wordpress.com/2014/02/24/sunshine-award/
a sunshineaward is the best, we need some sun :o)
Maybe your mom found the lair of the Cheesecake Ghost.
hahahahaha then I bet my dad had to stop on the way home for 87 times :o)
Easy, what fun. It looks like such a beautiful place and to go geocaching there seems like fun. Every time we go here, we think of you 🙂
I bet you would find all caches, Coco, piggies are very good to find stashed things :o)
