A POST FOR PHINNY /PHINEAS
phinny
On thursday I read about Phinny at Savannah’s blog. Phinny’s  story touched my heart as Savannah wrote her first post about him.
Phinny’s story, is a sad story,  what probably had ended sad too , but fortunately there were helping hands.

People of Contra Costa Humane Society  rescued Phineas, the Pittie mix,  from a kill shelter. They collected donations for his surgery, because
he  has been hit in his face with a bat or a similar instrument. Sorry, that I can’t  write about the details, but my tears are running while I
write this post, but you can klick on the links above to read what happened to Phineas, aka Phinny.

To make a long  story short, many people had a heart for Phinny, they donated money and they lined up to be put on
the list for adopting Phinny after his surgery.

The good news is: Phinny’s surgery went well and he is ready to meet his furever family.

But: now no one want’s him. I can’t believe that and I have no clue why….

So if you have a place in your heart and in your crib or if you know someone who want’s a furever friend like Phinny, please help.

If you want to know more about Phinny, you can visit Savannah’s Blog or you can visit his site at Contra Costa Humane Society

I wish I could do more for Phinny, than to write a post, but maybe THE ONE who want’s Phinny will read my post. Maybe. I hope .

    • I believe in miracles and I hope he will find a furever friend and a lwonderful home. It’s so mean what some people do with animals… but fortunately there are people too with helping hands.

      • fozziemum says:

I know Easy..it really does make you wonder if some people have any soul doesn’t it..and then you see and hear of other wonderful people and realise it is just a few horrid creatures.

  10. Mom is afraid to read the sad story about Phinny. We will say prayers for him to find a perfect new forever home. He is so beautiful and brave and strong. Good job, sharing about him, E.

positive thoughts shall travel the dog to a trail of a good home, I just adpoted a PitBull, she’s 1 1/2 yrs old, tan with a bit of white on her, name is Sammi, she was about to go to a shelter and out of nowhere, I saw her picture and just knew she was for me. As for the hex around PitBulls, I do believe that one mistakes loyality for aggression!

    • Thanks so much for your comment and specially for adopting Sammi. I agree with you, it’s so sad that this dogs have to pay the price of misunderstanding and prejudices.

      • hocuspocus13 says:

Sammi is an absolute sweetheart, so kind and gentle, she is very loyal and protective of me and when we go out for a walk, Sammi does not like strangers coming too close, she barks once or twice and then moves on, it saves me the trouble!

  16. We’ve fostered several pit bulls and found them to be the most loving dogs. Can’t have one in our current rental house but one day… If you live in the NE Ohio area and are looking to foster or adopt a wonderful pit, please contact For the Love of Pits, https://rochellewisofffields.wordpress.com/. They are an outstanding organization and they have dogs looking for foster and forever homes right now.

    • I read your posts about this wonderful dogs :o) I hope Phinny will find a home and someone who loves him. It’s so sad that so much of this dogs have to wait so long for a new home.

  17. Kyla says:

He used to live in Contra Costa county years ago. However, She believes the hype and wouldn’t have a pit. Someone in Contra Costa, Solano or Alemeda counties will get him. I wouldn’t expect any help from San Francisco.

    • I hope Phinny will find a new family. I don’t know much about the restrictions and the conditions in U.S., but it seems that the adoption of this breed is not easy everywhere.

  18. Thank you Easy for writing such a generous post about Phinny. The stereotyping of Pit. Mixes is so unfair. You wrote such a moving post. My wish…that everyone who writes comments “hope he finds his home”…will do just what Sammy did…reblog, share on Face Book, Tweet. Just saying “good luck” doesn’t help. But taking action like you and Sammy…THAT will put pawsitive energy in the universe for Phinny. Bless you

    • I hope a lot of people will share it or tweet it or tell it to friends and maybe Phinny will find a home this way. And maybe another kitty or a dog of CCHS will find a home too, when much people visit their site.

    • Kyla says:

In California you’re not supposed to discriminate against humans with gray hair, blonde hair, etc. You are supposed to go by character and ♥. Why discriminate against dogs because of origin and not look at their character instead?

      • Is that so? How sad. Here we sadly have the same thing…

      • I wish it worked that way Kyla. Not so when it comes to Pits and Pittie mixes My former rescue is the only one I know in this county who will pull them from the kill shelter, foster them and find them homes…which they do. We are just dumbfounded to have so many give their names to adopt Phinny and then when he is all better, not even return phone calls. So sad for Phinny.

  19. Mom is leaky reading your post. We will pray that this beautiful fellow finds his furever home real soon.

    Good luck lil’ guy!!
    Love Milo 🙂

  23. Brian Frum says:

  25. OwyheeStar says:

May his life find a good human, that is perfect match.

  26. We’re purring for a forever home soon because wishes do come true!

  27. Dalton says:

I love his smile – can’t believe no one wants him!!

  28. Keeping everything crossed for him xxx

  29. So incredibly sad. I’m happy that the donations and support came in for the operation but why, oh why, did they not want him thereafter? He looks adorable and I’m sure the right home will come along really soon.

    • It’s so sad, maybe the people are busy with their christmas plans or it’s because of his breed…. But I hope when a lot of people share it and tell it to their friends, Phinny will find his furever home.

  30. Oh Easy, I read about Phinny on Savannah’s blog too. I shared Phinny’s story on my social media thingamabops. I HOPE Phinny finds a forever home…it is just so sad that after a successful surgery now no one wants the poor pup.

  31. kolytyi says:

How beautiful and trustful dogs’ hearts can be, how brave and kind they are even after going through such cruel and terrible things! They are superior to humans, I often think. Phinny’s eyes are telling – there is a wonderful soul in this body!

    • That’s what I ask me too. Sometimes I feel guilty for being a human when I read stories like this. I hope, hope, hope that Phinny will find a good home, he deserved all the love.

  32. Lee says:

I sure do hope he gets a home for Christmas. In my city we have a city ordinance about owing pit bulls.
    Thanks for being a friend
