SILENT SUNDAY
.
.
Okay, to use a SILENT SUNDAY for a VOCAB BUILDING PROJECT post sounds oxymoron (VBP) but it’s sunday, I grabbed the button and yes – it’s silent here.
.
.
Since friday our street is closed. For all traffic. This sounds good – superficially (VBP) seen – but it could be annoying if you forgot to park your car outside of the exclusion (VBP) zone, right dad? In this case you are smeared and to complete the misery: you are demoted to be a pedestrian (VBP).
.
.
It seems that the work on our street will start in next days or centuries – but who knows? They marked our street last year in October with yellow, green and red signs for the new ports and connections, then they disappeared to nowhere… This was a French leave (VBP) – literally.
.
.
But suddenly they were back like the Jack-in-the-box. First they marked the streets again – why not? That’s only wasting of tax money and maybe they will do this work again and again till they start their really working on the street. Who cares? That’s much better than to built a bridge in the middle of nowhere…
.
.
I’m curious about tomorrow and the next years months weeks days and the progress of their work…

HAVE A SILENT SUNDAY ALL
Ahahah! Come on Easy! You don’t want them to lose all those RTT, right? 😉
Great VBP post =^.^=
Purrs
Thanks Texas ;o) I hope they would come back and start the work in 2145 or later – it’s so nice without this high traffic volume ;o)… no réduction du temps de travail ,o)
I hope I could have some silent moment here but ALAS, it’s so noisy right now. Those inconsiderate peeps are firing tons of fireworks. Didn’t they know they disturb my silent moment for some quality meditation. Lunar New Year sometimes equals to NOISE.
Hope those road works can be done asap!
Oh poor Eva – fireworks are dangerous… maybe you can use the wardrobe as an air-raid shelter? …but have they this wonderful golden dragons too? I would like to see them – without firework ;o)
Woof! Woof! They had a LONG break. We heard that French gets and/or takes long vacations. Happy silent Sunday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
That’s true – but if you ask me…it’s ok as it is – could be forever – or till we have to drive in the city ;o)
Seems you have our workmen, or lazy men cos they don’t actually do anything..They mark our roads and disappear ..Perhaps they walk to you 🙂 Have a lovely silent Sunday Easy 🙂 xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
I’ll bet we have the same … they mark our streets – then yours-then vice versa…till all eternity ;o)
Walking everywhere is the BEST! You will have fun, Easy! Maybe for months and months and months and months…..
Love and tired licks,
Cupcake
I would like it too – but we have a long distance to the supermarket and to the vet… for this I think my dad have to hump me ;o)
Gee, it might not be so silent if they actually star working! Have a very Easy Easy Easy!
I’m afraid then we need earmuffs here… or we should take a holiday ;o)
No holding of breath now, you might expire 😉
…in worst case faster than we would think ;o)
You really rate. You have a sign that points to your house. I’m jealous. It’s nice and yellow and black and clearly points to the deviates-gotta be YOU!
I hope the one who is “pointed” hasn’t to pay the whole turn ;o)
Walk!!! When my hairy slobbery sisters hear that word they gets all bouncy! And is not all government mean Hurry Up and WAIT?
Kisses
Nellie
aaaah me too , Nellie – a walk is great! sadly my dad can only “walk” on 4 wheels – oooh humans ;o)
Now we need a competition on France v England. I am going to find some road works and lets see who takes the longest? Have a super Sunday.
Best wishes Molly
I’ll bet it would end in a draw…and I’m not sure we all would see this day – at least we aren’t giant tortoises who will live more than 200 years :o)
Uhoh…..”Somebody” forgot to park outside the zone huh? I think road crews are all trained the same world over – flurry of activity to start – signs, spray painting arrows, tearing up patches of concrete and road and sidewalk then DISAPPEAR…..for a LONG time…..making it inconvenient for residents AND everybody. Yep – it’s what they do!!!! That bridge to nowhere is – well – very interesting…… 😀
Kitty Hugs, Sammy
yep – it was quasi a last-minute information – as late as 3 weeks ago ;o) I think the road-guys have a diploma for driving people to madness ;o) …a bridge to nowhere is really interesting – you need a ladder for entering and the way to “nowhere” leads downhill …
So far Easy we are having a silent Sunday…the dragon did it’s business in the night. If your place is like ours, the road construction companies like to drag stuff out as long as possible to milk as much money as they can from the cities they are working! GRRROWL! Hugs to you, ma and pa. Hope Pa is feeling better nowadays.
Thanks – I think he is ok ;o) That’s the point – since years we should have sympathy with most absurd saving plans, and now they waste the money hand over fist. But it’s absolutely peaceful if the road is closed – we like it ;o)
Dear me Easy that seems most inconvenient…especially for a boy with a bum paw!!
I hope and purr it doesn’t take FURever for them to get your street up and running again.
Hugs madi your BFFF
You could help them and make some yellow marks, too in order to let them make, for example, a wonderful roundabout diverting the traffic from your crib.
I did it – and I’m excited what how they will interpret my signs ;o)
hello easyweimaraner its dennis the vizsla dog hay yoo never no!!! the land arownd that bridj to noware mite suddenly rise up and then it will seem eerily pre … prescie … well ennyway it wil seem like they noo wot wuz going to happen before it did!!! but meenwile sorry abowt yore dadas pedestrian status!!! ok bye
Hi Dennis ! nice to meet you ;o) … I think it’s not bad to have a walking dad – I can escort him to everywhere now ;o)
So if all they are doing is painting on the street over and over, why is it you can not drive on it? does not make any scene to me. You better go have a talk with them. I would hate for you to walk all the way to the vet on your leg.
Blessings,
Goose
I think they are pretending activity for making some wonga. Sometimes they will built a new street in front of my crib, but maybe they need some extra time, because they have to remove the cars first who are sunken in the giant potholes of our street ;o)
Hah, French leave….I get it! 😉
they are perfect in this sport ;o)
Hee hee! French workmen 🙂
Let’s hope you’re Dad’s car is not locked up for years whilst they discuss what colour to use on the next set of road paint.
On the up-side you won’t have to drive in it any more.
That’s true Princess Zena – very smart. Maybe our car is a rare oldtimer till they have finished the street ;o)
Hullo!
Nous ne savions pas que tu es francais…?! Où est-ce que vous habites? Dans les banlieues de Paris?
We don’t know what French leave is. Does that mean them just goes away? Like Popie in Vatican?
XXXX
OMD, non ;o) nous vivons en bretagne, dans un petit patelin ;o)
…ahm nearly.. it means that someone disappeared into thin air before he has finished his work or has paid for something what he got – says wikipawtia ;o)
That bridge made us chuckle!
maybe it’s a bridge to a secret land ? or only a bridge-decoration? ;o)
Uh oh! Hope your dad manages to get his car back…but at least you don’t have to go in it anytime soon:-)
haha that’s true – no car – no easy in trouble :o)
Oaks are great but man they set off my allergies.
you should tie your wish ring with a long pole round the oak tree :o)
