SURFING THURSDAY
.
I’m a sporty Weimaraner and my favorite sport is countertop surfing. I hope this fascinating kind of sports gets olympic soon. I’ll bet the gold medal is mine.
.
The trick with the  countertop surfing is, to get the object of desire without smashing the dish to pieces, because the noises could alert the humans. They are NOT sporty and they even haven’t a sense for athletic, they are only great in snub – and this isn’t sport – that’s just rude.
 .
I should write a petition for using only paper plates in the kitchen. The make no noises while falling down and you can eat them too – that’s destruction of evidence.
 .
Countertop surfing is high art – and I’m an artist. Most important is a loose tongue in case you get busted. Here are the 5 steps to be a world class countertop surfer:

  1. If it was up to me I would give you the Gold Medal!
    Purrs

  2. Clowie says:

Yes, you’re good at it. My bipeds frown on it as well – I don’t know what their problem is!

  3. Goose says:

It there something better than Gold Medal? If so you would have won paws down. That was brilliant! I have learned so much. To think while I was learning to jump fences and climb mountains I could have been learning this most excilent sport. But as they say, it’s never to late. I shall begin training right away.
    Blessings,
    Goose

    • Of course try it – you are a Weimaraner – it runs in your blood. Countertop surfing is best for holidays, specially on christmas – that’s literally “the ride on a monster weave” (if you get busted ;o)

  4. Excellent tips Easy, paper plates would be great 🙂 That Furball does it when Mom’s in bed.. He never gets caught but his muddy prints are always up the units.. xx00xx

    Mollie and Alfie

  5. Archie is leaves white fur everywhere so we know if he has been on the kitchen sides LOL

  6. You are ready to compete, no need for training camp or enhancers.
    I love your kitchen btw.

    • Thanks – Rio-I’m coming ;o) You know what (please don’t laugh)? Most we touch this “masterpiece” only with gloves or with an dish towel – otherwise we (or better SHE) needs hours to remove finger,- foot,-paw-, butt- and tongue prints – think a curse rests on this color ;o)

  7. Bert says:

    NOTE FROM MY VICKIE:
Dear EAsy, I think you need to stop giving your friends ideas and training on thiskind of thing. I came into the kitchen today and there was Goose, snatching something off the counter. Bert has begun staring at the counter as if he is thinking about it. I blame you. but I still love you.
    Vickie

  8. Oh Easy you are a Gold Medal surfer extraordinaire!! Well done……I can’t leap high enough to get on our counters….darn….I need a portable ladder (like putting a saddle on a weimaraner of my very own :)) to be able to get high enough to surf. I do some floor surfing though….once in a while something pretty yummy lands down there.

    Happy Surfing……….!
    Kitty Hugs, Sammy

    • I’ll bet you are a very good floor surfer…hmmm… and for this: you could replace the hoover-monster. Just tell him he is fired from now on:o) Maybe a cat-tower next to the counter could help too?

  9. Kyla says:

My legs are too short for counter surfing. Instead I’m into dishwasher prewashing. To operate it, They have to open the door down to my level and then put the dishes in the rack. One dish in, prewashed by Kyla. Another dish in, another prewash. And I don’t even get yelled at.

  10. You’re a pro Easy. One medal coming your way!

  11. rottrover says:

We counter surf when no one is looking. Our favorite capture is bread. Once I ate 3 dozen iced sugar cookies. I had to go to the vet. I barfed on her. hehehe.

    -Bart

    • haha 3 dozen? well that would be even enough for my stomachs – and I have 7 of this guys ;o) I think your cookies weren’t really “fortune-cookies” neither for you or for your vet ;o)

  12. Pawsome Easy you deserve gold. I surf the dinning table from a chair when no one is looking. I also steal the birds bread and have been known when desperate to go on a bin raid. The dishwasher is a good target as well. Maybe we should get a European team together? Happy Surfing pal! Have a Terrific Thursday
    Best wishes Molly

  13. Easy – the countertop surfing champion of the world! You go Champ. 🙂

  14. Madi and Mom says:

WTG Easy…I had no idea K9s enjoyed counter surfing!! Mol it is one of my favorite past times….Mom is always very skeptical when another cat owner DECLARES my cat does not get on the counters. I’m quite nonchalant about it I do it no matter who is in the house too.
    Hugs madi your BFFF

  15. This sport is probably an extreme sport so probably worth waiting until the reward is huge (e.g. full sunday roast leftovers just sitting there waiting to be tidied up)

  16. The counter top is where it’s all happening. Sadly, I am too little to participate in that surfing sport. I am only able to surf the floor for errant crumbs. 😦

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

  17. onebluedog says:

I cannot wait to watch the Olympic counter surfing competition, Easy! I will be rooting for you, of course. I’d say you have this gold medal in the bag 😀

  18. catchatcaren says:

Easy your paper plate idea is complete genius!!!!! I bet every doggy in the world will try that!

  19. Will and Eko says:

Surfs up! Hope you made a safe getaway.

  20. Brian says:

    Counter Surfing Safari! I’m ready!

  21. Gizmo says:

Nice work Easy but Momz sez her dog Bruno would have given you some strong competition…Her Dad once baked 4 dozen cupcakes and left them on the counter for a few minutes while he ran an errand…Bruno had them all eaten with not a crumb left, and all the containers right where he’d left them in just 10 minutes…Iz just too short to counter surf…all I can reach is the coffee table and Momz is onto me so never any good noms there

    • Oh I hope Bruno’s stomach wasn’t dancing the jitter big after the cupcakes. But I think 4 dozen is the same as to win the gold medal – isn’t it? You need a ladder, Gizmo ;o)

  22. rebecca2000 says:

Growing up I had a black lab named Corky. I remember I was about 10 and I made my first Pineapple upside down cake. I was so proud. I set it in the center of the table to cool. She surfed the table and gobbled it down. I am still sad about that.

  23. LifeOfBun says:

Oh Easy you need a ninja suit!

  24. Cat Forsley says:

http://catforsley.me/2013/01/30/staycation-cat-forsley/stay-cation-cat-forsley/ just cuz …. i am a sucker for all animals and all animal people 🙂 🙂

  25. Ann Paws says:

Shiner likes to counter surf too… She’s managed to get cans of chicken, whole cakes, whole batches of cupcakes… Now I am more careful of what I leave out if I don’t want her to get it!

  26. Zena says:

I’m trying to teach the Pup to counter surf for both of us but his back legs are a bit weak at the moment and don’t seem to support the heavy body he has!
I coffee table surf – in fact I rode along the whole length of one coffee table but all that happened is that I landed in a heap with a mug of hot chocolate on the floor and all over me – it took Zac ages to lick me clean!!

  27. kolytyi says:

Easy, you are a big Champion! An olive branch would suit your majestic head perfectly! I think you deserve a place in the Olympic Hall of Fame! What is more, I think you could renew the Olympic movement. As it is well-known, architecture, sculpture, painting, literature and music competitions were part of the Olympic Games from 1912 to 1948. Counter surfing would bring back culture into the list of events; and it would be the first case that a competition included sport and culture at the same time!

  28. Learning how to surf like a CHAMP!!!!

  29. Very cute! Hang Ten….or is it, hang twenty!!?
